CHAPTER 8: Paint

When Drew returned home, he found Lily working on the living room wall.

“Hi!” Drew kissed Lily's nape and wrapped his arms around her waist. He stood in that position, staring at the colorful wall. He wanted her to grow accustomed to him to help Lily adjust to their relationship and their way of life.

"You don't like it?" Lily asked, leaning slightly in his direction.

He smiled. The artwork featured colorful lilies. “I like it! It’s you; it’s lilies, blooming flowers.”

He acknowledged it was unusual for him to see other colors in his home. He had only seen dark hues there. Surprisingly, he liked the vibrant world Lily had built for him. Nobody would ever think her previous existence was depressing.

"If only we could paint everything. Maybe everything is lovely," she lamented.
