Turn around!

All through the drive back home, Piper tried to find words to comfort Ivy. Ivy had just stood up from the chair and left the doctor's office without a word, absorbed in her thoughts and overwhelmed with shock.

Piper had thanked the doctor and ran after Ivy, she had tried to make Ivy feel better by telling her she could still let Alexander Grayson know about it and he could help with the upbringing of the child. She attempted to let her know that a child wasn't the end of the world and that since the father was a known and reputable man, she didn't have anything to worry about. But, Ivy wasn't even listening, she was in another world completely and Piper knew any other thing she had to say would have to wait since Ivy was still endeavoring to cope with the shock.

They had gotten in the car and there was silence. Piper's brain came up with countless words to say that could possibly comfort Ivy but found none.

They got home, but the silence still hung over the both of them like a blanket.

“I think I'll rest first, we'll talk later, okay? I know there are probably plenty of things you want to say to me, but I would like to think it all first. I'd like to just, you know, sort my thoughts out.” Ivy said and Piper felt so sad. Of course, she knew she had to give her some time and space to think things out, but she would rather not leave her alone. She wanted to be there for her.

“It's alright. It's fine. Just make sure you talk to me when you wake, okay?” She said, and Ivy nodded.

She watched as she disappeared down the corridor and sighed.

How could it have come to this? Ivy went to her room and sank to the floor, thinking.

After a long time thinking of how someone like her couldn't be a mother yet, she finally started to cry. She cried in silence for a long time because aborting was something she could never think of doing.

She just had so many things that she hadn't done yet. Being a mother seemed too soon. Too early.

After crying, she washed her face and decided to ask Piper for advice. Even if Piper didn't find suitable advice for her, she knew she'd find the right words to say to her. Piper's words were always soothing. They always gave her hope.

She left the room and went to the kitchen, where a nice aroma was filling the apartment.

Ivy didn't even understand she had thought and cried for hours until she looked at the clock right above the door of the kitchen. She hugged Piper from behind.

“Piper.” She called, and Piper turned.

“Ivy … Are you okay? Your eyes are red, how long did you cry? “ Piper asked as she held Ivy's white cheeks in her hands.

“Yeah I cried for a while. You know, it's kind of devastating when you find out you're carrying a baby when you're not ready for it.” Ivy said, and Piper tried to smile.

“You'll overcome it. It's totally okay. There's nothing to worryabout. Like I said, we just need to get in contact with Grayson. We'll tell him all we need to, and I feel he's a nice person, actually.” Piper said, looking at Ivy with concern.

“So the first thing is meeting with him?” Ivy asked.

“Yes. That's the only thing you need to think of for now. Thereafter, then other things can be discussed, but hey, a baby's not so bad Ivy, babies are cute, they're funny, and they give you a new reason to live.”

“Okay. I'll try getting in contact with him tomorrow. “ Ivy said, and Piper hugged her.

“Take over the cooking, will you? I don't think this would be that nice if I continue with it.” Piper said and Ivy smiled.

“Don't worry. I've got your back.” She said, and the both of them cooked together.

~

The next day, Ivy went to Grayson's Corporation and looked at the magnificent building for a while before entering it. She went to the receptionist first and smiled.

“Good day. “ She greeted.

“Good day, how can I help you?” The Receptionist replied with a smile in return.

“I'm here to see Mr. Grayson. “ Ivy said, and the receptionist had an apologetic look on her face.

“I'm so sorry, Mr. Grayson is currently out of the city. “ She said, and Ivy felt a sting.

“He's out of the city?” She asked.

“Yes.” The Receptionist replied.

“Can I know where he went to?” Ivy asked, but she shook her head.

“I'm afraid I cannot disclose personal information.” She said, and Ivy looked down.

“Oh. I see, so, when would he be back?” Ivy asked, but she shook her head once more.

“I really do not know about that.” She said.

“Thank you so much. “ Ivy said and walked away as she couldn't think of what else to do.

Piper came home looking so excited, but her excitement faded away the moment Ivy told her he was out of the city.

“So you couldn't meet with him?” She asked sadly.

“No I couldn't.”

“Maybe some day?” Piper said solemnly.

“Some day?” Ivy asked.

“Ivy. Would you go to New York City with me? It's a pretty long story but in short, my design was greatly recognized by the company, and I was promoted to one of its branches in L.A. We can always come back for Mr. Grayson but trust me, it's going to be a blissful experience with me. “ Piper said and Ivy smiled.

“New York. I'd love to. I've got no one here, and we can always come back for Mr. Grayson.” Ivy replied and Piper hugged her.

The two ladies packed their luggage hurriedly while talking and laughing about L.A. the place they had always dreamed of when they were kids.

Early the next day, the car was loaded and ready to go, and they got in and the drive to L.A. started.

On the highway, Ivy looked out the window smiling, but her smile ran down when she saw someone drive past them in a black car.

“Oh my God! Piper! “ Ivy exclaimed, looking at the car that went past them.

“What?” Piper asked in fear.

“Turn around. Turn around Piper!”
