To find him?

She had gone straight to Piper's house because she couldn't even think of where else to go. Ivy had been so shocked when her father had told her that he was going to disown her.

Her father! He had changed completely since the death of her mother. She felt he had only adored her mother, not her.

He had only gotten worse since he married Medusa and her son Brandon did nothing to make things easier for her. He always ignored her and made her feel like she was nothing.

She sighed as she rang the doorbell of Piper's house.

Still, it was hard to believe. Her father had not only sent her out of the house, but also disowned her. When had it come to that extent and Brandon was so happy to pack all her things up, he hadn't even given her a chance to explain herself.

Just like that. It showed he never loved her, she was so easy to throw away. So easy to forget.

Ivy felt hurt beyond measure, she couldn't explain the tear in her heart that threatened to rip her apart.

She sniffed and pressed the doorbell once more.

Then the door opened.

“I'm so sorry I was… Ivy! What happened? Why the tears? Gosh. What is all this? “ Piper asked as she looked from Ivy to the luggage on the floor. “Come in come in.” She said, and assisted Ivy in taking the bags inside.

“ I. I got abandoned, Piper.” Ivy said.

“By whom?” Piper asked as she held Ivy's hands.

“By my dad. My dad.” Ivy responded and sniffed.

“You must be kidding me. Did Medusa do something annoying? You want to stay for a few days, right? They didn't really kick you out… What am I saying, Ivy? You're crying. It must be true. How could your father desert you?” Piper asked in shock. She couldn't understand how a father would throw his daughter out.

“I don't know. I just don't know. I guess I'm not that important. It's just… It hurts so much. I wasn't even able to explain.” Ivy said as more tears dropped from her eyes.

Piper's eyes filled up immediately.

“Your father, I'm so sorry to say, doesn't deserve to be called a human. How could he throw the daughter of the woman he loved out!?” Piper asked in anger.

“I don't understand. I just don't understand.” Ivy said all of a sudden. She felt so much pain that all she wanted was a reason. A reason to explain why he had disowned her as easily as that.

“Look Ivy, you don't need him. You can stay with me. We've always wanted to be together. You've always wanted to leave that house anyway, so, don't cry anymore. Your father's not worth it. Your father doesn't deserve someone like you. “

“I just felt bad. When mom died, I felt I had no one but his presence made me feel like I had someone, so it really hurts to finally realize I was all alone all along, and I'm still alone.”

“You're not alone, Ivy. You've always had me and you'll always have me. And also, you have to know, you don't know what you've got until it's gone. Someday, your father would realize what he's done.” Piper said, and those words alone were like a seed in Ivy's heart. She was going to wait. Wait until her father realized he had made a big mistake in disowning her.

Ivy managed to smile and hugged Piper.

Days after, Ivy settled in Piper's house and started to get used to the feel of it.

When Piper was out at work, she used her time to sharpen her cooking skills by learning more recipes, challenging herself to cook hard recipes, and she enjoyed her time with it.

However, two weeks later, Ivy got a shock.

It happened when she was cooking a French meal, she was starting to get the hang of it and enjoy the procedures when she gagged.

She put her hand on her chest and calmed it down. The gag came again, and she poured water on her face, but the next one was so severe, she ran to the toilet and crouched in front of the water closet and puked. She puked so much she felt she was going to get sick.

She thought back on what she ate, but didn't find anything strange.

Furthermore, she went back and continued cooking after rinsing her mouth.

It did not stop there. She kept on puking at intervals.

When Piper came, she told her, and Piper immediately stood up in concern.

“You should go to the doctor!”

“No. It's not that serious. It's just probably a little something I ate. It'll go soon, that's how it always is, going to the toilet to puke at intervals, it's nothing more than that. I'll be fine, really.” Ivy said trying to convince Piper, but Piper wasn't buying it.

“No way! You've been puking at intervals? Come on, let's go.” Piper said and took her hand, and they left the house.

At the hospital, the doctors ran some tests on her and they both waited until they were called in.

The doctor had a large smile on his face when they came in.

“You're pregnant.” He had said, and it sounded like a bombshell.

Ivy and Piper found it hard to believe.

It had just been one night with the stranger, and it had gotten to this?

Piper tried her best to comfort Ivy, who felt like life had ended.

She just couldn't believe her misfortune. First, she had to discover her fiancé was gay, second her father had to disown her, and now she discovered she was carrying the child of a man she had met only once.

Someone she knew little about.

How on earth would she do it?

Try to find the man? Raise the child on her own?

Ivy felt like there was nothing left for her to do because she didn't think she was ready to be a mother.
