Monalisa POV.

I sucked from a straw attached to a small juice box as I watched the other passengers leave the bus station with their luggage.

I was sitting on a bench in the bus terminal, leading into the city, with nowhere to go.

I didn't know a soul in this new city, where I had just arrived.

I had no money or tuition fees, but here I was, ready to live my life anyway.

Enough of depending on my parents for everything. I would take charge of my life, keep my shoulders high, and walk into my future....

My phone rang and I immediately took the call.

"Mom, what about the money you said you were going to send to me?" I cried, pouting my lips.

"Have you arrived in Vegas?" My mom's voice asked from my phone.

"Yes, we just arrived a few minutes ago," I quickly answered and went ahead to whine, "Mom, I'm sitting at the bus terminal with nowhere to go. You should have sent the money already, I called you before my bus took off this morning."
