The floor was nearly empty. Only the soft glow of a few monitor screens and the distant thrum of the building’s ventilation system broke the quiet. Claire sat hunched over her laptop, the time in the corner of the screen reading 10:12 p.m. Tomorrow’s quarterly review still needed work. The data was clean, the projections solid, but the narrative felt stiff. She could already hear Victor’s dry, cutting questions if it wasn’t sharp enough.

She’d been at Meridian Analytics for just under a year. Long enough to understand the unspoken hierarchy. Short enough that every late night still felt like a test she couldn’t afford to fail. Student debt didn’t care about her hours. Neither did the rent.

Footsteps approached from the corridor. Claire straightened as Victor Kane walked into the open workspace, suit jacket hooked over one finger, collar open, sleeves rolled to the elbows. The low light caught the lines of his forearms. She looked away before he could notice.

“You’re still here,” he said. His voice was quieter than usual, roughened by a long day of meetings.

“Trying to fix the flow on the second half of the deck.” She tilted the screen toward him. “I’d rather catch it now than get torn apart in the morning.”

One corner of his mouth lifted. He set the jacket down on an empty desk and came closer, resting a hand on the back of her chair as he leaned in to study the slides. She caught the faint scent of his cologne—something dark and clean that always seemed to linger after he’d left a room.

“May I?”

She shifted her chair a fraction. “Please.”

He didn’t sit. He stayed standing, one hand braced near her shoulder, the other scrolling slowly. His fingers were close enough that she could feel the warmth of him. Claire kept her eyes on the screen and tried not to think about how long it had been since anyone had stood this near without a professional reason.

“You’re burying the key insight on slide nine,” he said after a moment. “Pull it forward. Less explanation, more punch. Here—” He reached past her for the trackpad. His arm brushed hers. The contact was light, almost accidental, but it still sent a sharp, unwelcome spark down her spine.

She hated how aware she was of him. He was her boss. Married. Nearly twenty years older. Completely off-limits. And still every time he got this close her thoughts scattered.

They worked in silence for almost half an hour—him pointing out weak transitions, her making the changes. The office seemed to shrink around them. At some point his hand settled again on the back of her chair, thumb resting near the edge of her shoulder blade. She wasn’t certain he even noticed.

“Much better,” he murmured when they reached the final slide. “Cleaner.”

Claire exhaled. “Thank you. I owe you.”

Victor straightened but didn’t step away. When she looked up, their eyes met and held.

“You don’t owe me,” he said quietly. His gaze dropped to her mouth for the briefest second. “But I’ve been thinking about these late nights more than I should.”

Her pulse jumped. “Victor—”

He leaned down and kissed her.

It wasn’t tentative. It was months of careful distance and sideways glances finally giving way. His hand slid into her hair, tilting her head as the kiss deepened. Claire made a small, startled sound against his mouth before her body caught up and she kissed him back, fists closing in the front of his shirt.

When they broke apart they were both breathing hard. He rested his forehead against hers.

“Tell me to stop,” he said, voice low. “Now.”

She should have. Instead she pulled him down again.

Everything moved quickly after that. He drew her up from the chair and steered her toward his office. The door closed with a soft click. City lights filtered through the half-drawn blinds, striping the wide desk in silver and shadow.

Victor lifted her onto the edge of it as if she weighed nothing and stepped between her knees. His hands pushed her skirt higher, palms hot against her thighs. Claire loosened his tie, yanked it free, then worked at the buttons of his shirt while he kissed along her throat.

“Christ, Claire,” he breathed against her skin. “You have no idea how long I’ve wanted this.”

She arched when his hand slid between her legs, fingers pressing against her through damp lace. A soft sound escaped before she could stop it. He caught the sound with another kiss, rougher this time.

Clothes came off in pieces. Her blouse. His shirt. Her bra. When he cupped her breast and brushed his thumb over her nipple she gasped, nails digging into his shoulders. He was hard against her, the thick shape of him clear through his trousers. She reached down and stroked him through the fabric; the low sound he made made her clench.

Victor pulled the lace aside and pushed two fingers into her without warning. Claire’s head tipped back, a sharp cry slipping free as he curled them just right.

“Already this wet,” he muttered. “All those meetings, pretending you weren’t thinking about it.”

The words sent another rush of heat through her. She rocked against his hand. He worked her steadily, thumb circling until her thighs began to tremble.

“Please,” she whispered.

He withdrew his fingers, made quick work of his belt and zipper, then pushed into her in one slow, relentless stroke—bare, thick, stretching her. Claire bit down on his shoulder to keep from crying out. He gave her a moment, breathing hard against her neck, then began to move.

The desk creaked. Papers slid. He fucked her deep and steady, one hand fisted in her hair, the other gripping her hip hard enough to leave marks. Every thrust dragged a broken sound from her throat. The controlled power in his body, the way he watched her face, made it feel almost too intense.

“Look at me,” he ordered when her eyes started to close.

She did. The eye contact sharpened everything.

He reached between them and rubbed tight circles over her clit without slowing his hips. Claire came hard, clenching around him, her whole body shaking. Victor followed a moment later, burying himself deep and groaning her name as he spilled inside her.

For a long minute afterward the only sound was their uneven breathing.

He stayed inside her, forehead pressed to hers, one hand stroking slowly down her back. Reality began to settle in again.

“Fuck,” he whispered. “That shouldn’t have happened.”

Claire let out a shaky, almost incredulous laugh. “No. It really shouldn’t.”

He pulled out carefully and helped her down. They dressed in silence, stealing glances. Her legs still felt unsteady when she reached for her blouse. He caught her wrist, thumb brushing over the inside of it.

“This stays here,” he said. “Between us. No one finds out.”

She nodded. “Never again, right?”

Victor’s eyes moved over her—messy hair, swollen mouth, the faint marks already forming on her neck. His voice was quiet when he answered.

“Yeah. Never again.”

But the way he said it left the words hanging in the air between them, unfinished.

  • All Yours, Daddy: Short Steamy Stories   Moving Back In

*A New Collection The U-Haul was smaller than I expected. Most of my stuff from the dorm barely filled half of it. I stood on the driveway of the house I grew up in, sweating under the late afternoon sun, watching my stepdad Daniel carry the last box inside. “Cindy, you sure you don’t want me to take the heavier ones?” he asked, wiping his forehead with the back of his arm. “I’m fine,” I muttered, even though my arms were burning. Truth was, I didn’t want to feel even more like a burden than I already did. Six months ago, my parents’ divorce had turned everything upside down. Dad moved to another state with his new girlfriend, and Mom quickly remarried Daniel. Now, with my financial aid delayed and my part-time job barely covering food, I had no choice but to move back in. Mom was barely ever home anyway, always traveling for her job, so it was mostly going to be me and Daniel in this big, quiet house. Daniel was… different from my dad--He is calm, he is steady. The kind of

You waited for that familiar shape to cut through the crowd—dark hair, white shirt, the quiet way he moved like he was trying not to take up space. He wasn’t there. Not in the sanctuary. Not in the fellowship hall afterward. Not by the coffee table where he usually stood with a paper cup in both hands like it was something holy. You told yourself it was nothing. Maybe he was sick. Maybe he stayed home to pray the sin off. You left early and drove around with the windows down even though it was still raining a little. You always watched him.Not in that obvious way that gets you caught. Just enough. From the back pew on Sundays when the choir finished and everyone stood to leave. From across the youth group table when he read scripture out loud in that soft, careful voice. From the hallway outside the fellowship hall when he laughed at something dumb one of the other boys said. His name was Caleb. Eighteen. Same as you. Tall enough to look down a little when he talked, shoulders that filled out his button-ups without trying, dark hair always a little messy like he’d run his hands through it during prayer. Clear skin. No tattoos. No piercings. No stories about last weekend or some girl from the next town over. The other guys joked about it sometimes—how Caleb still hadn’t even kissed anyone, how he blushed if someone mentioned sex too loud. You never joined in. You just watched. He was clean. Proper. The kind of boy your mom would point at and say “be more like that.” You tried. Or you pretended to.

  • All Yours, Daddy: Short Steamy Stories   The Quiet Car

The train had been sitting dead on the tracks for forty-seven minutes. Rain hammered the windows in thick, uneven sheets. The overhead lights flickered once, then steadied into that soft, yellow quiet-car glow. Most people had already given up and were scrolling or sleeping with their mouths open. Elena kept her coat on, legs crossed, bag clutched against her hip like a shield. She had a deadline waiting at the other end of the line and a low, restless ache under her skin that had nothing to do with work. He boarded at the last stop before the delay—tall, dark coat still damp at the shoulders, a single leather bag, no phone in sight. He chose the seat directly across from her in the nearly empty quiet car. Not beside. Across. Close enough that their knees almost touched when the train gave its occasional, useless shudder. He didn’t look at her at first. Just settled, unbuttoned the top of his coat, and rested one long hand on his thigh. Clean nails. A thin silver ring on the m

  • All Yours, Daddy: Short Steamy Stories   Caught Sneaking Back

I take the money two days later. It’s not even a lot, just sixty bucks from his wallet on the kitchen counter while he’s in the shower. I tell myself it’s just until payday, that I’ll put it back, that he won’t notice. I use it to Uber across town and meet the same guy from the bar. We don’t even make it to a bed. He fucks me in the backseat of his car behind a closed restaurant, quick and rough, and I come harder than I want to admit with my face pressed against the window. I get home after one. The house is dark. I think I’ve gotten away with it. Marcus is waiting in the garage with the side door open. The fluorescent light is already on. He’s standing by the workbench in a black t-shirt and jeans, the leather belt folded in one hand. My stomach drops so hard I feel sick. “Come here.” I step inside. He closes the door behind me and locks it. The concrete floor is cold under my bare feet when he tells me to strip. I do it without arguing this time. Bra, shirt, jeans, pant

  • All Yours, Daddy: Short Steamy Stories   Overtime Hours 3

The three nights Marcus’s wife spent in the city felt longer than three weeks. Elena went through the motions at the office like a woman underwater. She answered emails, sat through meetings, delivered the revised Midwest deck without a single stumble, and somehow managed not to look at the closed door of his office every time she walked past. Marcus was present but distant—there for the morning stand-ups, gone for long stretches in the afternoon, always the first to leave when the day ended. He never glanced at her longer than necessary. He never lingered. She hated how much she noticed. The prepaid phone stayed silent in her bag. No texts. No late-night summons. She checked it more times than she wanted to admit, always in the bathroom stall or the parking garage, always with the same empty screen staring back at her. By the second night she had started sleeping poorly again, waking at 2 a.m. with the phantom feeling of his hand on the back of her neck and the taste of
