The aroma of the food diffuses my anger. Even if I wanted to stay angry I can't, it just is not in my person plus I am really hungry. Even if Gregory didn't come I would have still sneaked out for some food. I noticed that my initial distaste for food is over and most of the time I just want to eat. As I eat my mind keeps pondering over the words of Ellie, "I still have him where I want him". Does that mean they are still together after our marriage? "But the contract stated that I am not to have any other affair. Does it mean that it applies to only me?.I shake my head to dissipate the thoughts from my head. Another thought finds its way to my mind. "Patrick". just then my phone makes a ding sound, indicating the arrival of a message. "Who could it be by this time?, it's pretty late". I stretch my hand and grab my phone. It's Rosie. She's still worried. A slight smile is etched on my face. I love how she loves me. "Denise sweetheart, please reply to my messages. Are you okay?". her
"Gregory…." I shudder"Hmmm Denise". He responds to my name while still pampering slow kisses on the side of my face, neck and jawline."What do you want? '' he murmurs against my skin. He returns to pampering kisses on my sensitive skin.."Can, you.., can you.." I'm not able to get a complete sentence out due to his kisses. He moves to the other side of my face. "If you don't talk I won't know what you want my dear Denise". He murmurs to me then nibbles my ears. "I think… erm… I.. err.. I am sleepy". I stutter lightly."You still haven't made a comprehensible sentence Denise. What do you want? He chuckles quietly, the sound tingles my ears.I have to put an end to this now. If not we'll both regret it in the morning."I feel sleepy, I need to rest. For my health and that of the babys'. I blurted out yawning. He only chuckles before giving me one last peck, standing straighter. He comes beside me and stretches out his arm for me to take assisting me down the stool. I stare into his
"Hello Denise". Rosie calls out from the other end of the line, "Yeah Rosie what's up". I respond to her" So you remember that post we made when we needed money for your mum's surgery?," "Yeah…" we had another offer from a lady, she wants you to cover her sixtieth birthday celebration. It's this Sunday. I forgot to tell you , I just received a reminder from her today. I don't know if you can still do it considering your condition." There's a pause and I take that as my cue to speak."Of course I'll do it," I say in an excited tone. Oh my God Ro, you don't know what you've done for me, I really need the money". She laughs at me, how can you need money, you are married to a freaking Billionaire, do you even know what that means?. Not a millionaire but a freaking billionaire. You should be swimming in money my love. I laughed at her statement. "It's not as it seems Rosie, I might be married to him but I don't own his money"."Bullshit Denise!" She blurts. This makes me laugh hysterica
"Hmm". I moan as I awaken from my deep sleep. My back is on a comfortable surface. My mind is a bit foggy from sleep, my eyes slowly flutter open. I am in my room. "Wait a minute, I didn't sleep in my room, I slept on the couch. Shit! I'm dead, he's going to kill me. I slept on his precious couch". My mind begins to worry. "How did I even get to my room, oh god, oh god. I know I slept on his couch but how did I get here, or am I just imagining this?. Did I walk back to my room?. No, I definitely slept on the couch. The only other logical explanation is that he carried me. Oh my goodness, he carried me. No Denise you weren't supposed to sleep on the damn couch". I facepalm myself shaking my head in worry and disappointment. "At least he didn't have to change my clothes, if he did that I would die and I'm not joking". "Ra ta ta, Denise, are you up, Ra ta ta ". His voice calls from the other end. "Yeah I am, the door is open. I sit up as I say this. "Good morning". I say and he replies
The party I was to cover was outside town, I have never been grateful for this bodyguard situation up till now. Having Oliver here is good, though I had to explain my situation with the host, she was quite okay with it and didn't seem to mind his presence, in fact they treated us like friends even though I was there to just take pictures. Her family was a delight. It wasn't really a big party, something for loved ones and friends. The kids ran around the place, their laughter and the music mingling to bring that bloom in your heart. To be honest this job doesn't feel like a job. It feels like I was invited to a party but I decided to take pictures. There are so many fun activities to engage in, right now the celebrant Mrs Richardson and few others are playing cards, even Oliver is involved. I don't know how Mrs Richardson persuaded him but whatever she did, it worked. There are chatters around the table, Mrs Richardson says something which makes them roar in laughter, a perfect oppo
My pleadings are useless. If anything the more I beg him the more excited he gets. "Now, Now sweet peas, you make it seem like you won't be enjoying whatever I have in store for you. He closes the car door still pointing the door subtly at me, his eyes don't leave mine as he walks over to the other side of the car. Don't you just love how the night is beautiful", he sighs with satisfaction before he enters the car. "But you know what is more beautiful than this night?. Hmm…. He drawls."You" he starts the car and the engine roars to life. "Onto the Royale, your majesty". He laughs"I think I should join the theatre, I'll make it big there don't you think?". I wrap my hands around my body. My fear increases at every second. I look behind me and see Oliver coming out of the restroom. He looks confused when he doesn't see."Oliver" I scream with everything inside of me. I'm not sure he heard me. Patrick hits the accelerator pedal and we are out of the area. "Sweet… peas, you sh
Gregory doesn't let go of me, my tears continue to stain his suit. But I do not stop, nor do I open my eyes. My mind is a blizzard, I didn't even realize when we had gotten home. He doesn't let me go, he carries me all the way to my room and lays me on the bed. The bed dips in response, still I refuse to let him go. "Let me get you some water," he tells me. I open my eyes and stare into his grey ones pleading for him to stay. "I'll be back, let me get you water, you need it" he assured me, I am reluctant but I let go of him. As he leaves I sit up wrapping my hands around my legs and putting my face in-between my knees, swaying back and forth with my eyes shut. I can't seem to stay still, this is my body's mechanism of keeping me calm or else I might scream and lose it. I stay like this for some minutes till a hand rests on my shoulders making me jump."It's me, you're safe, you're home". His voice breaks through my panic as he wraps his body around mine. My breathing is heavy but h
"No, no, please". My eyes opened in a flash, those were my words, I was dreaming, I was dreaming of Patrick. I touch my forehead and it is covered with beads of sweat, my heart is beating rapidly. Even in my dreams he hunts me, I'll have to find out from Gregory what happened to him. As I think of Gregory I stretch my hand to feel the side of the bed next to if he is there. My hands glide over the bed. There is no sign of him, no warmth to indicate he just left. I turned myself around to look at the side he was in last night. The only evidence that he was ever here is a rumpled sheet, the covers which are no longer in place and most of all the memories of him being here. A breath I didn't realise I was holding leaves me. "Ra tat tat" before I could say enter whoever is at the door enters without much warning. "Ah, good you're awake, how are you feeling?". My husband questions."I'm fine". My voice is raspy. He walks closer to me but doesn't sit on the bed. "The doctor is here, I ca
