View MoreDenise's POV:Gregory mentioned Ellie has returned to her parents house. She must have figured something was up. I mean it is obvious non of us are home anymore or she is simply evading being caught either way she is out of the house. You would expect us to return hom but we didn't we are still staying in Isaiah's mansion. Isaiah has refused to let Rosie leave as well. I don't blame him though, after the whole incident he wants us to be safe. Not that Gregory's Mansion was not safe but Isaiah's mansion is on another level. The place is surrounded by so much bodyguards that are armed, I mean heavily armed. It's scary sometimes. The men don't look friendly, they all have similar tattoos but it's located on different parts of their body. It makes me wonder what agency Isaiah found such terrifying looking men. Men that have access to such heavy weaponry. Then again he is a billionaire, money can buy alot of things..Rosie and I step into the balcony were Gregory and Isaiah are having a
Denise's POV:Flashes, blood stains, pleas. I jolt up from my sleep breathing heavily. My forehead is covered in sweat despite how cool the room is. “You're awake” Gregory says, stepping out of what I assume to be the bathroom. His voice scared me a little since I wasn't expecting him here. He rushes over to my side. “You look frightened”. He noticed my fear. “I-I had a nightmare. My voice comes out hoarse. Gregory rubs my arms affectionately. “It's just a nightmare you are safe”. I nod my head and he wraps his strong arm around me holding me in a warm embrace. “I made a warm bath for you. Figured you'd be waking up soon”. He kisses me on the forehead, breaking our embrace. “Ivy”. I say. “She's fine she's downstairs with Rosie and Carolina”. Gregory holds my hands to help me out of the bed. I notice that I am still in the clothes I wore yesterday. The site of the dried blood raises bile to my throat. I close my eyes for some seconds to pushing it down. Gregory is patient with me.
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND ONE (Anger)Gregory's POV The blood within my veins like molten larva ready to give way, ready to melt these people with my rage. The only thing holding me back is Isaiah and the thought of harming the mother of my child in my blind rage.Isaiah and I move closer. Isaiah takes two precise shot. The shots are faster than I anticipated. Two of the men surrounding Denise fall flat on the ground. The last guy pulls Denise fast, holding her captive by the neck with a gun pressed by the side of her temple. He cannot see us but he is certain of where the bullet came from. Her captors eyes are wide in shock and fear. His expression almost mirrors that of Denise. Hers are rounded in fear of the unknown. I can see her visibly shaking in his hold.“Come out or I'll kill this slut”. He roars, eyes focused on our location.“At the count of three if you don't come out you'll pick up her carcass”.My eyes dart to Isaiah and he has an easy smirk. In this horrible situation m
I turn my head to Rosie and her eyes are round and wide mimicking my own. “shit” I mouth. “Who’s there?”. Someone shouts from inside. The sound of footsteps approached us. My heart is beating faster than I can process. This wasn't how I planned it. I was just going to sneak up on her and find out what she's up to. The sound of a gun being corked is heard and colour drains from Rosie's face. I bet my face mirrors hers “On the count of three we run”. I mouth to Rosie. She nods to my suggestion like an understanding child. “One, two, three, run”. I mouth to her. We both rose, hitting down the cans we hid behind. They have all realised that people were indeed in their territory. Various footsteps are heard as we run; they are after us. “Boom, boom, boom”. Shots are fired at us but luckily we've taken a left. Soon enough I find some men hot on our trail. “Rosie”. I call out to Rosie as we run. She briefly looks back at me before keeping her eyes on her track we need to split up. “what!
“Denise….” My boss yells my name even though he doesn't have to. Rosie rolls her eyes at the way he yelled my name. It's a good thing she isn't close to him right now else they'll begin bickering like teenage siblings. “Boss, you called”. I say once I am in his office. He lifts his eyes from his computer screen and fixes them on me. “Yes, I have scheduled you for a shoot downtown, it's only supposed to take less than an hour. I'll watch after Ivy”. He says, fixing his gaze back on the screen. “Lilly will give you the necessary info”. He doesn't look back at me when he says this. “What does he want?” Rosie says once I return to arrange my stuff. “He wants me to cover a shoot downtown”. I tell her as I stuff the last of my property in my backpack. “And Ivy?”. She questions. “He'll watch her, besides she's really comfortable with him. I pick up the backpack and head for the door. “ Why are you leaving without me when we are both aware that you need my car to commute”. She tells me wit
Being confined to a room for days will make you appreciate the freedom you enjoy. I take careful steps out of my room towards the kitchen. I have been feeling hungry at night these days, so I sneak up at night to get some. Though I doubt I will be disturbing anyone seeing the mansion is so large that they would hardly hear me from their rooms. The hallways are quiet as I walk through, the same as the kitchen. I don't bother to put on the light. I have come to memorise the kitchen and the path to the fridge like my name. Once the piece of cake is on my plate I move to the living area. It's dimly lit like the rest of the house. “It's not going to work!Do you think I haven't tried”. It's Ellie. She is agitated with whoever she is speaking to on the phone. “You sound as if I haven't been trying on my part. Do you know how risky it is being in the midst of things?”. She whisper yells. She moves closer to where I am and my heart rate increases, for fear of her seeing me. Ellie relaxes on
Denise’s POVA good night rest is always characterized by a refreshing feeling when your body is thrown into consciousness. I peel my eyes open after the most refreshing night rest I have gotten in a really long time. My blissful sleep was probably brought about by my recent discovery, not just that but being able to relate my findings to Gregory. Although he didn't look convinced at first I am sure he is an intelligent man and he will figure things out himself. A smile is etched on my face as I stretch on my bed knowing that when I leave this house I have planted a seed to prove my innocence. My revelation about Ellie being the culprit will be in his mind making him doubt his choices and action towards me. In time he'll know I never forced myself on him and into his life. The smile is wiped off when I notice the Empty crib. Ivy is not in her crib. Fear crawls up my spine. I am sure I put her to sleep in her crib last night. She was sound asleep before I laid in bed. Did Ellie find
You would think that was the last I saw of him. He returns back to me after returning the plate. “Er, what is it this time?”. I huff in frustration. He has that annoying smirk plastered on his face. It is safe for me to say that he has reserved all his smirk for me. “Relax angry bird, I came to tend to your wounds”. He raises a first aid box I didn't initially see. “Carolina can handle it when she is done with whatever is occupying her time”. He doesn't listen to me, instead he walks closer. “Cute”. He says plopping down on the bed like he owns the place. Actually he owns the place I groan internally. He gently places my foot on his thighs, pulling off the old bandage. He cleans around the injury before wrapping the new bandage. He does the same thing for the other foot. He places the old bandaged in a small disposable bag. Then walks over to my bathroom to wash his hands. When he returns I can't help but admire this fine specimen of a man. His sleeves are folded, two buttons of hi
