“Tell me this is not true?” I shook my head in denial, my eyes begging Rowan to tell me that it was a lie.

“It’s true, Gemma. He smelt your scent on me and now he is suspicious that I know where you are. He insisted Axel that they should be working on their strained relation and also expressed his wish to visit us, which of course Axel accepted.” Rowan said.

My breathing became hard and blankness covered my eyes as I imagined seeing Adonis after what he did to me.

“Calm down, Gemma. He isn’t here yet and I won’t let him hurt you. Life has given you another chance. We won’t let anyone take it from you.” Rowan held me closely to comfort me but the deeply rooted fear in my soul wasn’t ready to leave me.
