I wrapped my arm around Rheniera, pulling her from the man that nearly stabbed her chest before breaking his back, causing him to fall to the ground.

Her eyes were wide in surprise, and I looked her in the eye, wanting to see whether or not she was hurt; but I was thankful when she nodded in thanks, letting me know that she was okay.

It wasn’t until an eclipse made the sky red that we all stopped. My chest ached, and I couldn’t help but find myself knowing what that meant.
