Scarlett: I laid my head on the armrest of the couch as I sat in Alexei’s room. My mind raced with a dozen thoughts as I allowed myself to sink inside their abyss. Between Yaroslav’s words and Viktor’s insults, I couldn’t help but feel small; however, I was thankful for Alexei standing up to me in front of them. Alexei:My heart dropped to my stomach when Scarlett’s eyes closed, her body giving out on her.I could hear her heart weakening as she refused to open her eyes, and watching me, Madeline put a hand on my shoulders, wanting to pull me back. The doctors who were frozen in their spot for a second ran inside the room, their eyes widening at the sight of blood covering her naked body.
