Cassandra’s point of view: My alarm woke me. Groaning, I blindly reached out to grab my phone and switched off the irritating noise, then flopped back against my pillow. Normally, I’d wake up late, but I’d been babysitting Millie for the past three days since her parents were needed at the pack borders for some security issues. They’ve been working on tightening the security at each side of the pack. Cassandra’s point of view: After Millie ate her fill of cookies, she helped me put the other batch of newly baked cookies in a box that we kept stored in the fridge. All the cookies came out delicious, yummy even. Dalton’s point of view: Why do I care? I had repeated this question a hundred times already in my head, maybe even a thousand times, scarcely knowing what to make of this strangely incredible connection between me and Cassandra. Dalton’s point of view: When I reached the pack house, the living room and dining area were filled with pack members. I breathed in deeply, trying to pull the calm around me into my lungs, my heart but it did nothing to quell the seething unsettling emotion within me. His hostility, whenever a member from the Moon Howlers would come, wasn’t hard to notice. It was so intense that every pack member would squirm in discomfort.
