54. Shattered Heart
How was it even possible, I wasn’t mated to him, I knew I liked him but surely that wasn’t enough to create sparks between us. As I raise my eyes to his, he doesn’t say anything about the sparks
“She's dead?”
It wasn’t so much Christians reaction I was waiting for but Daryl’s. I wanted to know if he loved her too like she had loved him.
I nod my head, "But what happened to you?, you were right behind me"
"I got attacked by a rogue, don't worry, they didn't last long", he said no more but it made sense as to why he was in different clothes and why there was dirt smudged across his face.
“I don’t believe you Ash”
“Why would you Daryl, because you never believe anything I say”
“It’s seems pretty unlikely”
Christian snorts, something I was getting use to when he knew I was going to make a sarcastic comment

As we crash to the floor, my head smashes against the edge of the fridge with a loud thud, what did Christian say? I don’t see Daryl for the rest of the day and I was grateful, instead I was spending the afternoon mulling over Christians words and wondering if he had felt the sparks between us like I had. Before leaving Christian had warned me that I might feel pain from rejecting Daryl but as time passed I felt nothing, literally nothing and it made me realise how little i actually know.Christian stuck to his word and slept on the white leather sofa in the room, he waited patiently outside whilst I sorted myself out and climbed into the large bed, it really was massive and I seemed oddly small in comparison but I knew I was safe with Christian not far away.At some point in the night I woke, tossing and turning, an unnerving gut feeling and sitting up I see Christian fast asleep and I push the odd sensation away from my mind and try to settle back down but I knew something wasn’t right.Sitting up, I whisper Christians name but he doesn’t stir. What choice did I have but to agree although I was not sure what my end of the deal would mean. The vampire agreed to meet me in one hour with other vampires. I would be well and truly outnumbered because I had no one but myself.
