8. Wolfless
His dark eyes bore into my own, the closeness relaxing me, his earthy scent infiltrating my mind, I felt hazy, had this asshole marked me, he said he wouldn’t. I move my hands up to feel my neck and collarbone but there is nothing different and I watch a small smile play on his lips.
“How?” I ask him through the open mind link
“We are mates” its all he says but he doesn’t take his eyes off of mine
“But we haven’t, you haven’t…”
He cuts me off “It’s because of who you are!”
I let his words sink in and squirm slightly as the doctor starts stitching me up, it was more painful than I thought it would be and Daryl slides his hand across the bed towards me which I grab with my one good hand and squeeze it hard, letting my nails sink into his skin. He didn’t recoil, he didn’t even react other than continuing to stare into my own eyes, I felt like he was looking into my soul, almost searching for something.

Beta Jax manages to keep me entertained for most of the day, he left me alone in the library, without locking me in. I had to spend a few days in the hospital against my will, Daryl would spend most of the days with me but he also had pack stuff to do and if he couldn’t be with me, he ordered his Gamma to watch me as they still hadn’t found Jax to confirm if he is dead or not. As we step inside the cabin, I look around at the beautiful layout, it was definitely cosy with the blankets hanging on the sofas and small fireplace in the corner and the low ceiling beams.“Whose house is this?” I was curious, it wasn’t a place Daryl had taken me to before yet I definitely liked it.
