Chapter 66
***Olivia’s POV***
The line went dead as the barrier rose back up over the city. I stared at the phone, my heart sinking further. It was good to hear his voice even though you could hear the agitation and desperation. The emotions through the bond seemed to settle down though the moment we spoke. Bucho put his hand on my shoulder.
“He is just upset, sweetheart. Don’t take it to heart.”
“I know. Either way, I have something I need to do. Something I need to finish. I don’t know why his mate is after me but I will kill her. I will kill all of them.” My voice didn’t waver as I set the phone down on the table.
“We should almost be ready. Once the Spring Celebration passes we will face them head on.”
I nodded at him, my heart still not recovered from Desmond’s anger. Bucho guided me out of the room and into the chaos that was the main pack tent. Everyone was setting up decorations or busy with something in regards to the celebration.

I was woken up feeling Desmond pull the mate bond. I smiled and tried to reach out through the bond. I felt his worry, his desperation and his anger. It felt like Bucho had told him what happened. My eyes fluttered open and I took survey of my surroundings.I was hanging from the wall. My wrists and ankles were chained up but I was handing from my arms. My toes barely touched the ground. It must have been a while since I was hanging because my shoulders had already both popped out of their sockets. I was in a cell. It was the usual stone built walls and floor with metal bars. Bucho carried me out of the hospital and I shied away from the sunlight. It really had been weeks since I had been outside during the day. Bucho strode through the village but his face showed how unhappy he was. I still let myself relax in his arms. We headed to the far side of the village. There was a specific tent that had been built for keeping prisoners but I hadn’t actually been inside of it. My heart sunk when I realized that it was where we were headed. I wish I had woken up with the sun, birds chirping, ready to start the day. Instead, I was leaned over the toilet at five in the morning throwing up dinner from the night before. My hands shook and I grimaced. Going through two previous pregnancie, it had never been this bad. A hand rubbed my back and some water dropped into view. I took it and first swished it around in my mouth, spitting it out.
