Chapter 70

Bucho carried me out of the hospital and I shied away from the sunlight. It really had been weeks since I had been outside during the day. Bucho strode through the village but his face showed how unhappy he was. I still let myself relax in his arms. We headed to the far side of the village. There was a specific tent that had been built for keeping prisoners but I hadn’t actually been inside of it. My heart sunk when I realized that it was where we were headed. That Nasir had been locked up for over a week.

We got to the tent when one of the warriors who was guarding the front bared his neck and moved the flap for us. Ducking into the entrance, I looked at the rows of cages that were built inside this tent. My eyes looked over the cells before the far cell showed the thick brown-reddish fur of a wolf curled up in the corner. Tears came to my eyes and I wiggled out of Bucho’s grasp.

Some kind of twins she was having, able to withstand all those tortures and poison metted to their mother and still so strong..

Why the hell couldn’t Desmond come over to see and pick her up rather than just wait for her to go back herself? Did he have to listen to her knowing she was hurt so badly ?
