SHE told herself the truth.

He was actually 'all that'.

But then, his dark and sadistic personality made his good looks very much invisible to her.

"The king!"

Reina suddenly grabbed Vaelora's arm, squealing as she did.

Everyone present at the table turned to look at them, and a small smile of victory made its way to Vaelora's face.

Making their way towards Draekon, Vaelora stopped halfway to give a nod of acknowledgement to Chief Jaafar.

He had joined them for dinner.

"Thank you for having me tonight, Luna." Jaafar gave a meek bow, taking the opportunity to flash his daughter a warm smile.

"I hope you enjoy your meal, Chief Jaafar." Vaelora replied, continuing on her way.

"Hi Dad." Reina managed to say, before walking off with Vaelora.

Getting to Draekon, Vaelora curtsied.

"Glad you could join us for dinner, my king. This is Lady Reina Jaafar, the third daughter of Chief Jaafar. She is the first candidate for the consort selection."

"Veylor."

TWO WEEKS LATER. IT WAS already dusk, and Vaelora wasn't sure Chief Wofah's daughter was still going to show up. The third consort candidate had just left the royal House the day before. "Luna." Danika's voice pulled her out of her thoughts. "It's time for dinner, my Queen." "Oh...." Vaelora whispered, realizing it was actually late. This meant that Lady Helena Wofah wouldn't show up again today. "I'll be down shortly. Please tell the maid and sentinels assigned to the consort candidate's room, to retire for the night. I don't think our fourth candidate is showing up anymore." "I'll do just that." Danika nodded, before exiting the chambers. Releasing a low sigh, Vaelora stood up to go for dinner, but suddenly had a dizzy spell. Falling flat down on her butt, she released a low moan, her head spinning uncontrollably. The next thing she knew, she was seeing these weird flashes in her head. In these flashes she saw, there was a young woman in a green dress. She

"Please ensure that the curls perfectly frame my face." Reina was giving that instruction for the fourth time that afternoon. Or was it the fifth? Well, whichever one it was, Vaelora was glad that her plan had yielded great results. After she had spoken about Draekon's lack of cooperation towards the consort selection exercise, the chiefs most certainly felt threatened. Their daughters may not stand a chance at being selected as consorts, if Draekon kept up with his behavior. Vaelora was surprised at how they all unitedly insisted that Draekon made adjustments towards that. Even chief Om'zaar and the three other chiefs whose daughters weren't participating in the consort selection exercise, had also been supportive. Om'zaar came up with the suggestion that Draekon spared each consort candidate an hour of his day, everyday, until they wrapped up their one week stay in the House of Veylor. Of course, the other chiefs supported the motion, and that was exactly ho

VAELORA sat at the end of the table, staring daggers at Draekon as he ate his breakfast. It was Lady Reina Jaafar's last day in the House of Veylor, and Draekon had somehow managed to avoid Reina throughout her stay. Vaelora had thought of bringing up the issue at the next parliamentary meeting, which happened to be today. Sadly. When Reina was already leaving. To an extent, Vaelora felt sorry for the poor girl, who had come to the royal House with hopes of seeing Draekon regularly, but had only managed to see him just twice. At dinner the other day, and currently as they had breakfast. It was so obvious that Reina's spirit had dampened, because she wasn't desperately trying to strike a conversation with Draekon, like she had done the other night. Her unending talks about Draekon had ceased as well. Vaelora was grateful for that one though. Just then, one of the sentinels walked into the dinning hall, calling Draekon's attention. "Veylor." "Hmm?" Draekon hum

VAELORA seemed lost for a moment, unable to make out any words as she looked at Dione. "Let's go, Lora. Let's get away from him." Dione repeated, gradually beginning to feel like he had the upper hand. Vaelora was speechless, and that only meant one thing. She was contemplating it. To leave with him. Draekon went still as well, waiting to hear Vaelora's response. Was she going to accept his brother's offer? Was she going to run away? "I still see the love in your eyes, whenever you look at me." Dione softly whispered, the sound of that causing inexplicable hatred to brew within Draekon. "Dio...." Vaelora was speaking, when Dione cut her off. "I dare you to deny that you still love me, Vaelora." Everywhere fell silent. That deep feeling of resentment had spread through Draekon's mind at that point, and all he wished to do, was...... suppress. To suppress her. "I know you still feel strongly for me, Lora." Dione continued. "Just give us a second chance,

"THE lady assumes my favourite place to be is the horse stable." Dronikos released a low grumble, making Draekon chuckle softly. "Aye...." Draekon nodded in agreement. "She doesn't know my favourite place to be is here. With you, my boy." He rubbed his palm against the jagged horns spiking out from the crest of Andronikos' head, making the gigantic and regal looking beast rear its head for more affection. No matter how big Andronikos got, he was always going to be Draekon's boy. Just then, Draekon sniffed her. It was insane. What could she possibly be doing outside their chambers by this time of the night? Just to be sure it was she indeed, he walked towards the balcony of Andronikos' lair. Looking down, his eyes fell on the nearly unfamiliar figure of his mate. Thankfully, her voluminous black hair gave her away so easily. She was headed towards the North wing of the royal House, and Draekon wondered what she was going to do there. Until he realized she was
