“What a coward,” Kieran commented, not hiding his derision.

Serenity retorted, “You would be as well if you were not a werewolf. Not only does that look creepy, a bite could literally have my heart stopping. It’s not like you have doctors here other than me.”

Kieran scoffed. “Pathetic. Now, get off of me.”

Heat rose up her cheeks as she realised her position, and immediately jumped down his body. Clearing her throat, she clarified, “I have slight phobia of snakes. I would have done this to anyone in your position.”

“There is no need for an explanation. I don’t cater. Get lost from here. Were you not allowed to leave the pack house?”

Serenity felt lucky and grateful that she was not the one with a fragile heart or else with his constant insulting behaviour and her embarrassing slight crush on him, her face would have collapsed.
