Arora O'Malley POV

Damn! Where the hell is she right now?

I stared at the clock on my phone screen. Biting my lower lip anxiously. My fingers didn't stop tapping on the arm of the sofa. Although I was sitting comfortably on the soft sofa, I felt like I was standing on the edge of thin wood.

It seemed like I had made the wrong decision. I shouldn't have agreed to Jack's suggestion. He wanted to teach Ruby's sister a little lesson under the pretext of picking her up.

They had a big fight a few years ago. It would have been risky if Ruby's sister had gotten seriously injured. Alpha King Triplets is someone cruel and powerful, I don't know what happens to my pack if he gets angry.

No, aren't they just meeting today? The chances of Alpha King Triplets liking her or hating her were 50:50.

A knock on the door made me rise to my feet. In this spacious room for the bride's room, there was only myself hoping that Ruby's sister would be found soon. Mom was mobilizing all the pack warriors and I was the one dealing with this chaotic situation.

"Did they find her?"

A man with brown hair shook his head. He was a warrior who was famous for his strength. I trusted him enough, but would he repay me with this bad news?

My hand grabbed a nearby flower vase and slammed it towards the floor. The loud sound of glass crashing further fueled my anger.

"Then what brings you here? Don't you know very well that finding Ruby's sister current whereabouts is a priority?" My tone of voice soared.

"Alpha King Triplets of the Celestial Dawn pack arrived thirty minutes ago at the groom's quarters. A pack member saw one of them walk out of the room with an angry face."

My fist was imprinted on the table. My hands were still clenched tightly with the terrible image haunting my mind.

"No, you can't. I just became an Alpha and my pack can't just disappear because of Ruby's sister absence. This wedding is being held at Mom's suggestion, removing Ruby's sister from the pack and getting a huge reward for preparing a bride for the ruthless Alpha King Triplets. Mother's suggestion must not turn around and become a sharp sword for me," I muttered while biting my fingernails. I was very anxious at the moment.

Ah, why did I never think of it? I just needed to replace the bride who had an equally honorable position.

"Bring Beta's daughter here immediately."

Ruby O'Malley POV

A deep frown was printed on my forehead. I moved uncomfortably as my head kept throbbing as if it wanted to burst. The heat highlighting my wrists and ankles made it difficult to open my eyes.

I kept trying. Moving my heavy eyes as I felt I was in a dangerous situation.

Slowly the blur in my vision became clear. I cast my eyes around. It didn't take long for me to realize it. My last memory and place of existence.

I was kidnapped, and it was by my former mate.

"You finally woke up from your long sleep."

I turned my head, staring at a man I had blacklisted. He walked over with a grinning smile.

He was alone. Not a single pack member was here. Did that mean he was planning to kill me on his own?

"What do you want?" When I moved my hand to strike him, I felt something very painful. My gaze dropped to my wrists and ankles.

Restraint cuffs of pure silver made my wrists and ankles burn. They had made deep holes in my hands. They had pierced my skin.

I wanted to scream, but I held back by biting my lower lip. I didn't want to see the satisfied smile etched on Jack's lips.

"Why are you holding back? Are you feeling weak already?" Jack walked over to the assortment of sharp tools on the table.

"Hasn't technology come a long way, Ruby? I can wrap that thing around you without touching it at all. This is a development that is both detrimental and beneficial to the werewolf nation."

Jack turned around with a long silver dagger. "But unfortunately you won't be able to see the development for yourself. Because your life will end today."

Jack walked over. My heartbeat was irregular. My mind kept screaming danger, yet I couldn't move my body in the slightest. The restraints and cuffs have weakened my strength.

My clenched hands were covered in cold sweat. My back became stiff. My body shook violently without me being able to stop it. My body reacted both cautiously and fearfully to the death that might come my way.

"What exactly do you want from me? Didn't you hate me all along? You and Alpha Arora should be celebrating my wedding right now, not kidnapping me."

"You got what you wanted. Standing next to Alpha Arora and getting a spark of power. Then what did you get by killing me? You didn't want me, so you rejected me."

"Just like what you said a moment ago. I will be married off, I will disappear from your sight by myself, you don't need to get your hands dirty for that."

I racked my brain to think hard. I had to buy some time. That was the least I could do. Keep buying time until someone will save me.

No, right now... who am I hoping for? No one will save me because no one loves me.

"I should be the one asking you. How can you give off such an alluring scent even stronger than before? What are you doing with your body?" Jack rummaged through his hair in frustration.

"My body goes crazy when I smell your scent. So many times I couldn't resist my wolf demanding your presence by my side and he always managed to take over my body."

"I know you're getting married. A marriage with the Alpha King Triplets that benefits the pack. But I'm not happy about it. If you can't have me, then neither can anyone else."

Jack shrugged his shoulders. "I know they're notorious. There's a 95% chance of you dying at their hands, but there's still that 5% chance. So, I'll decide to ensure your death with my own hands."

I pressed my body closer to the wall behind me. Jack became a person I didn't recognize. There was only obsession in his eyes. He wanted to kill me!

The long dagger was raised high. Spontaneously, I closed my eyes. Until a thumping sound was heard.

My gaze fell on Jack who was thrown so far away from where he stood. The wall hit by Jack's body cracked with a deep mark. A man as strong as Jack instantly spewed blood and was made helpless with just one attack.

I swallowed. Straightening my gaze back at the man who was walking closer and closer to me. Again, I could only close my eyes when his hand came up to touch me. But all I heard was the breaking sound of the restraints cuffs.

"No way," I muttered unconsciously. I watched as both my hands were freed and so were my feet.

As I looked up, a very thick intimidating aura that could make your enemy's guts instantly shrink, enveloped my body. My gaze shifted to his wounded palm, but seconds later the wound disappeared completely.

The burns he got were very small and his healing speed was unbelievable. He was a very strong person, much stronger than the previous Alpha Wildfire pack.

"Are you afraid of me?"

A heavy, slightly hoarse voice sounded melodious in my ears. A surprised shriek escaped my lips as my body suddenly levitated. Spontaneously, I wrapped my arms around his neck.

He surprised me! Why did he suddenly carry me without any prior notice?

"You can look at my face for a long time, but not now. You don't want to keep me and my other two brothers waiting, do you?"

That morning, the air felt heavy. Though spring had begun to warm the earth, a thin mist still lingered among the trees. The sun shone dimly, as if hesitant to pierce through the gray cloud cover. I sat on the edge of the bed, my fingers unconsciously caressing my stomach, which had felt different lately. I took a deep breath, trying to calm my increasingly irregular heartbeat.“Ruby?” Zephyr’s voice sounded at the doorway. There was a note of concern he couldn’t hide. He stepped closer, his eyes sweeping over my face. “Is something wrong?”I shook my head, but tears were already flowing. Zephyr’s gaze grew sharper, forcing the truth out. When the doctor arrived and uttered those words—pregnant—all sound in the room seemed to fade away. Zacharias, who had been standing by the window, turned with wide eyes.“I… am happy,” my voice barely a whisper, “but I’m also afraid.”“Afraid of what?” Zacharias asked, his voice hoarse, as if he already knew the answer.I lowered my head, my fingers

The ground was still wet with blood when we left the battlefield. The heavy footsteps of the warriors behind me echoed like an endless lament. The smell of iron and smoke lingered in the air, stinging my nose, mingling with the suffocating scent of death.Carried by Zephyr, Zaire's body lay motionless. His face was pale, as if he were in a long sleep that would never end. My eyes couldn't tear themselves away from him; every second felt like a knife slicing painfully into my heart. Zacharias walked on the right side, staring straight ahead, but his jaw was clenched, holding back the turmoil within his chest. Occasionally, I saw his hands clenched so tightly that his knuckles turned white. No words were spoken, only a heavy silence. The other warriors walked with their heads bowed. Some of them were quietly sobbing. A young warrior whispered to his comrade, his voice trembling, “He saved my life earlier… I didn’t even get to say thank you.” The others nodded, wiping away tears with

The magical explosion erupted in the air like fireworks bursting in the dark night—only there was no beauty, only destruction. The heat wave swept across my face, burning my skin. I saw it: dozens of black fireballs hurtling toward our troops, followed by bursts of purple energy spears spinning like vicious snakes. Screams filled the air, but amidst the chaos, our warriors held their ground, tearing through and piercing the enemy lines. They knew one thing: destroy the wizard casting the spell, and the rain of death would cease.“It’s a shame I can only take a few seconds of your focus, but aren’t you truly curious about the death of your parents?” he said again.I refocused my gaze. “You’re just a mad sorcerer who takes everything for your experiments. What do you know about my parents, huh? Shut your mouth! I’ll take your life soon.” A bolt of lightning flew toward him, but he easily dodged it.“Do you want to protect those still alive? You’re so noble, Ruby.”I deflected one explos

Ruby Maverick's POVMy gaze sharpened. About five kilometers away from us, the black wizards were ready. There were more than a thousand of them, a number I never expected. Meanwhile, our total number was 1,300, and we were dominated by close-range attackers. Yet we had to cover this long distance. Well, but that fact certainly didn’t dampen the fire in our hearts. “For now, we must focus on the few black wizards who have descended onto the field,” I thought to myself, a smirk curving my lips. “ATTACK!” Zephyr’s voice boomed, met with roars and cheers from the others. The first explosion erupted in the air like a war drum splitting the earth. From the front lines, I saw a wave of black wizard troops charging—their robes fluttering wildly, faces hidden beneath dark hoods, eyes blazing with intense hatred. The smell of sulfur, gunpowder smoke, and blood mingled in the biting cold air."Form a defensive line!" shouted one of the commanders, raising his sharp claws toward the sky. His

Ruby Maverick’s POVZephyr’s words hung in the air like thick fog that was difficult to dispel. The room felt silent, with only the beating of my heart pounding against my temples. I looked at my three mates—Zephyr, Zaire, Zacharias—and saw the seriousness that pinned them in place. There were no smiles, no jokes. Only the raw truth they had just revealed.“The oath’s contents…” Zephyr began, his voice heavy, “…are that if we betray the black wizard clan by killing their leader, the life of the one who draws the knife will also vanish. If any one of us—or even all of us—kills him, then we too will be killed.”Those words pierced me deeper than I had anticipated. I could see how Zaire bowed his head, his jaw tightening, and Zacharias clenching his fist at his side. They knew how terrifying the boundary set by the oath was.I stepped forward, ignoring the distance between us. My hand reached out, grasping them one by one, before finally embracing all three of them at once. They were sti

Zephyr Maverick’s POVEven before the words left my lips, I could feel Ruby’s breath catch, as if the air around her had turned heavy. Her eyes fixed on me, as if trying to find a crack in my face, waiting for an explanation she knew would not be easy to hear.“There’s something we’ve never told you…” My voice was low, but its weight felt like it was shaking my chest. Beside me, Zaire and Zacharias stood silent as statues, but I could feel the waves of their emotions—anger long buried, sorrow that never faded, and guilt that never truly went away.I nodded slowly, my hands resting on Zaire and Zacharias’s wrists. “We’ve agreed to tell you this. Though our hearts are still filled with anxiety, fearing you’ll distance yourself from us once you learn of our dark past.”Ruby clasped our hands together, shaking her head firmly. “Never. I will never leave you.”Those two sentences managed to lift the weight on my heart slightly. “This happened when we were sixteen years old.”Flashback onT
