NIRVANA

Ducking down, I went to the tree and hid myself there. I briefly closed my eyes to listen to the footsteps and voices. Then, I saw an intruder creeping slowly towards me. His movements were precise, but Asina was better at stealth than him.

I pulled out the dagger. Before he could shift and lung at me, I swung my arm and stabbed the fucker on his neck. His body fell on the root, bleeding profusely to his death.

If there was one thing that terrified me, it was that I was too calm, taking people’s lives. I knew they were the bad guys, but it was still killing— one thing that changed me into someone or something I didn’t recognize anymore. Considering I didn’t even flinch or hesitate, it should bother me.

And then he did not come alone. He was merely the scout. At least six of them were walking out of the property. How did they get in the barrier? They must have a witch working for them, or they found a way to break it. Something caught my eye that sucked me in a breath.
