Mia:

Owen and I dated briefly. He was one of the pack's warriors and was considered one of the best. He was good looking and while others alienated me, he was never ashamed to be seen with me until one night.

Teresa's scream woke everyone up. We all ran in to see her crying, her clothes were ripped while Owen stood at a corner dumbfounded. The whole image left little to the imagination.

However, I could immediately tell from Teresa's fake tears that this was one of her evil plots but there was nothing I could do to prove it.

With Luna Lilian adding fuel to the already blazing fire, my father's anger was tripled. He gathered all pack members and ordered that he be beaten fifty times with an acid laced rod and afterwards, banished.

My words held no value in the pack so I could only cry and painfully watch him get beaten and banished like a criminal.

I could never forget the smug look on Teresa's face that day.

Lukas' voice brought me back to the present.

“....He will be buried alive tomorrow morning”

my eyes widened as gasps echoed across the hall.

No. I could not let him do that. I had to do something even if it meant begging and kneeling.

Lukas left the council room and I ran after him.

“Alpha Lukas" I called out, my feet hitting the marble floor as I ran harder.

He stopped and turned to me.

I caught up and I struggled to catch my breath.

I grabbed his arm and his gaze became dark.

"Please. Don't kill him" I pleaded, my eyes welled up with unshed tears.

I failed to protect him in the Night shade pack, however, I could not stay silent this time or else, he would definitely die.

"He committed a crime and should be punished for it"

"Can you let it go? Just this once" My hands were clasped as I begged.

"What is your relationship with this man?"

"Well, he...... was my friend”

“I don't care. My decision is final” he turned and walked away and I collapsed on the floor helplessly in the empty hallway..

I found the cell where Owen was kept.

“To what do I owe this unpleasant visit” his voice was filled with spite as he glared at me.

“How have you been?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. I cleaned my sweaty palms nervously.

He scoffed. “My life was destroyed because of your goddamn family and now you are asking how I've been? I became a rogue because of all of you! Stop acting like you fucking care” he spat.

“I'm sorry there was nothing I could do. I'll do my best to get you out. I promise”

“I heard you became Luna” he scoffed “I bet your father pulled some strings to get you here. Do the pack members know how conceited and twisted your family is? Does your Alpha know?”

I swallowed the lump that formed in my throat. I understood he was mad at being framed but his words were so hurtful.

“Please don't bring Alpha Lukas into this. He's my fated mate. That is why I married him. Is anything wrong with that?” I questioned, anger bubbling inside of me.

“Your mate?” He asked in disbelief.

That he was spiteful did not mean he could talk to me anyhow he wanted.

“I'll take my leave now” I said and walked away.

When I returned, Alpha Lukas was at the table having breakfast.

The maid tried to lead me to the table but I stopped her.

“I'm not hungry” I said firmly and headed to my room.

Our eyes met for a moment and I saw anger flashed in his eyes.

When I entered the room, I let out a breath I didn't know and tried to calm my racing heart.

Alpha Lukas was incredibly scary and I was not sure if my act of defiance was the right way to change his mind.

My stomach rumbled loudly begging to be filled.

I heard footsteps and hurriedly covered myself, pretending to sleep.

I tensed up when the door opened and his familiar scent filled my nostrils.

“Stand up” he ordered.

I didn't move.

“I know you are pretending” he sighed. “If you don't get up, I'll give an order for his immediate execution”

I sprung up.

“You can't do that!”

He dipped his hands in his pockets.

“Is that why you're refusing to eat? You think that will change my mind?” he shook his head. “Suit yourself” he said and walked out.

I didn't see him for the rest of the day. I was so anxious that I didn't get any sleep. No one knew his whereabouts and Owen's execution was in a few hours. I didn't have his number and his parents had gone on a vacation.

I paced back and forth, glancing at the time every now and then.

Thunder echoed in the sky and in a few seconds, a heavy downpour began.

Due to this, the execution was postponed.

A few weeks passed and he didn't come home. At first, I thought he was avoiding me but I learned that there was some disturbance from humans at the border.

On one hand, I found myself getting worried about him and on the other hand, I was relieved that Owen was still alive. Without the Alpha present, an execution cannot take place.

I sat before the huge dining table, staring at the plate of pasta in front of me.

For the past few days, I had been throwing up everything I consumed and just the sight of food made me want to puke.

I cut a small portion and put it in my mouth.

I had barely swallowed it when that familiar wave of nausea washed over me.

I ran to the toilet and released a load of bile.

I washed my face and stared at myself in the mirror.

My whole body had become gaunt and I could barely stand for a long time.

My ears rang loudly and I was starting to feel dizzy. I tried to hold onto something but there was none.

My breaths became shallow and I fell, hitting my head against a sharp edge then I blacked out.

Mia:“We can't help you,” Freya said decisively, without hesitation. She straightened her back, her eyes on me across the table.“What? Why? You didn't even think about it”“There's nothing to think about. It's our rule. We don't get involved in werewolves’ battles”I pressed my lips into a thin line. “That's it? That's your answer?”Her gaze softened. “Werewolves hate us, you know that. Why should we fight for them?”“My husband doesn't”Freya scoffed. “Really? Is that why he sentenced you to death?”Silence fell into the room. I swallowed the lump that was beginning to form in my throat.“I'm sorry, high priestess. I should not have said that”I exhaled sharply.“When you chose me as your high priestess, you swore an oath of allegiance to me”“Like I said, it's the rule. We can't get involved”“Don't you understand? The dark sisters are on the enemy's side”“We don't consider them one of us anymore They can do whatever they want”I stood up. “Fine. I'll do this myself” Her head s

Kate: I paced back and forth in Lukas' study, biting my lips. Several days had passed since Micheal left and I couldn't shake off the bad feeling. “Kate, he called me yesterday, he's fine,” Lukas said, his voice calm and measured. “Why hasn't he called today?” Before Lukas could answer, his phone buzzed on the desk, Michael's name flashed on the screen. He took the call and instantly his expression darkened, his jaw ticked and his fingers gripped the phone tightly. “.... I swear, Theo, if you so much as touch the hair on his head ....” My heart dropped to the pit of my stomach and I sank into the chair. Michael had been caught. The moment the line went dead, Lukas shot up and stormed to the door. I ran to block the door, spreading my arms wide. “Where do you think you're going?” “Out of my way. I'm going to save Micheal” “How on earth are you going to do that? Alpha Theo knows this is exactly what you would do. He's probably waiting to blow your head off the moment

Kate:I was about to step out of my apartment when I froze. Standing before me was Eleanor, a wild look in her eyes.“What are you doing here? How did you find this place?” I ask, within masking the irritation in my voice..“I want to see Mia” her usual graceful self was gone. She looked like a madwoman. Her hair was a tangled mess and mascara smudged down her cheeks. “No,” I said firmly. “You can't see her. Now leave”She took a step towards me and I caught a whiff of alcohol. She reeked of it. “Goddess, Eleanor. Have you been drinking?” That explained the disheveled look but not the sinister energy radiating off her. “I WANT MIA!” She yelled in my face, her voice sharp. I blocked her path. “And I said no. Leave while I'm being nice”But she wasn't listening, she pushed me out of the way and staggering in. The commotion must have caught Mia's attention. She came out of her room with Amber crying loudly in her arms. “What is going…….”The moment Eleanor saw her, a sadistic smile

  • Alpha Lukas    Chapter 83

Mia: The coven was a huge estate behind a towering iron gate covered in vines. As I walked up the stone path, I caught sight of young witches sprawled across the play, practicing their magic. Some twisted streams of water from the fountain into dancing figures. Others practiced from the lawn. Planting bloomed unnaturally from the ground. The air was filled with the fragrance of magic. Freya urged me on. We walked through the door into a vast hall. In the middle was a circle lined with candles and surrounded by several high ranking witches in red cloaks. Each pair of eyes turned towards me as I entered. I stepped inside the circle and was handed a ceremonial staff covered in glowing runes. “This symbolizes your guidance and authority” They began a chant that seemed to vibrate in my bones. One after the other, they placed their hand on the staff. Energy surged through me and several images flashed behind my eyes. The past high priestesses, coven gatherings, rituals….. eve

  • Alpha Lukas    Chapter 82

Mia: I stirred when I heard a whimpering sound followed by soft shushing. I tried to pry my eyes open staring at the ceiling of the brightly lit room. I sat up but it only worsened the throbbing pain in my head. This caught Kate's attention. “Goddess! You're awake” Kate whispered, sitting by my bed with Cedric's in her arms. “You've been asleep since yesterday” I looked around. “Where the hell am I and why are you whispering” “The pack house” I whipped my head sharply. “What?” “I’m sure you already have the answer to your second question. No one can find you here, hence, the whispering” “How did I get here?” “Micheal found you passed out at the secret entrance with your twin pups.” She narrowed her eyes. She stopped whispering but her voice remained lowered. “I've got a lot of questions to ask you but I won't because right now, you need more rest” There was a minute of silence between us. “Actually, I'm going to ask you right now. What the hell were you thinki

Mia:“You should have seen Lukas' face when I told him I met Nathan. He looked like he wanted to strangle me” I said to Kate who was half listening as she gently rocked whimpering Cedric.“I think he's right. You can't just take Nathan's word for it. He could be lying”“What if he's not?”Kate finally looked up at me. “Lying or not, stay away from him. What's your deal with this guy anyway?”I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and released a deep sigh.“I feel guilty”Kate scoffed. “About what?”“Nathan's life was destroyed when his company collapse and it was all Lukas' doing. I think he also has a hand in his restaurant's fire. I feel like I owe him”Kate raised a brow, incredulous. “Owe him? Grant group collapsed because they deserved it. They ran several illegal organizations I can't begin to mention. I know Lukas can be a dick sometimes, but he wouldn't stoop so low as to burn his restaurant down”Little Cedric closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.Kate let out a relieved
