How ridiculous!

He was about to have a second pup with my sister, yet he still pretended to care about my feelings?

I stared at them, transfixed.

Even though I was already dead, the pain in my chest made me want to die all over again.

When my name came up, Stella's expression stiffened for a moment before she spoke.

"Speaking of which, where did sister go last night? She never came home."

Ethan buried his head in her embrace, guilt flickering across his face as his voice suddenly became very loud.

"I, I don't know either, mama! Maybe sister had something to do!"

I couldn't believe it.

Just last night, he had begged me relentlessly, saying he absolutely had to have that moonlight flower.

That's why I braved the storm to reach the cliff, and even lost my life for it!

Ryan's brow furrowed deeply, his expression stern.

"Tell the truth! When did I ever teach you to lie?"

Ethan pouted reluctantly.

"Fine, sister went to help me find moonlight flowers."

Ryan's face changed instantly.

"Call the pack enforcer now! With that storm last night, Mia must have had an accident!"

Stella remained completely unconcerned.

"She's fine. Sister isn't stupid. With rain like that, she probably found a hotel to stay in. There's no way she would..."

Her words died under Ryan's increasingly cold stare.

Stella's face turned pale, which immediately upset Ethan.

"Don't yell at mama!"

Even my parents rushed to defend her.

"Mia isn't stupid—with that kind of rain, she'd know to take shelter."

"Stella means well. Who told Mia to run off on her own? If something happened, who's to blame?"

Ryan's expression remained dark. Just as he stood up, he turned and saw me.

His eyes suddenly brightened, and he strode over to embrace me.

"Mia, where did you go? Why didn't you answer your phone? I was worried sick!"

Stella also stood up, her usually gentle face now expressionless, glaring at me with a forced smile.

"Sister's back. Why don't you come sit with us?"

I didn't speak, only stared at them with cold eyes.

Only then did Ryan realize something was wrong.

His face stiffened, and he asked carefully.

"Mia, just now... what did you see?"

I shook my head.

He breathed a sigh of relief, but when he saw the wounds covering my body, his voice trembled.

"Mia, are you alright? Does it hurt?"

He noticed the moonlight flower that had fallen at my feet, disbelief crossing his face.

"You really went to find moonlight flowers?"

Before he could pick it up, a small figure suddenly rushed over and stomped on the flower viciously.

By the time Ryan reacted and pulled him away, the flower I had risked my life to bring back was completely destroyed.

Yet Ethan was still shouting.

"Bad woman! Who told you to come back! Why couldn't you just die on that cliff? I hate you!"

"Slap—"

Ryan was so furious he slapped him.

"That's your sister! Apologize to her!"

Ethan was stunned for a moment, then suddenly broke into hysterical sobs.

"I don't want to! I don't want to! I hate you, I despise you! I don't want to be your little brother, I want to be daddy and mommy's baby! Daddy already got rid of your baby for me, you..."

Ryan quickly covered his mouth, looking at me in panic. "That's not true, Mia, don't listen to his nonsense!"

My entire body shook, my head reeling as if I'd been struck by lightning.

I had once carried a child too.

Because my parents had never loved me since childhood, that unborn child had carried all my hopes.

But it was just an ordinary morning when I simply drank a glass of water at home.

When I woke up, the child was gone.

During that time, I nearly had a breakdown.

If not for Ethan's arrival, I might not have survived that spring.

But now he was telling me that my child's death wasn't an accident.

My child had been murdered by his own biological father!
