Stacy loved Hayley’s smile as it made her look even more beautiful despite her weight loss as a cause of the pregnancy. She wanted to seize the opportunity to find out who Stan was to her and she had just the perfect question to begin the conversation.
“Is he the father?” she asked.
Hayley seemed a little lost. “Who?”
“The guy you were with?”
“Stan?” Hayley scoffed. “No!” she responded between chuckles. “Stan is just a friend.”
“It seemed more than just friendship when I saw you two together.” Stacy was being nosy.
At this, Hayley wondered if she was spying on her and asked. “What; have you been spying on me?”
“Oh no!” Stacy raised her hand in the air in her defense and said to change the subject. “I just loved the way you two were connected. Forgive me for prying but it was not intentional.”
