~Ridge’s Point of View~
Maybe I should have noticed, but I didn’t. The Alpha for Pale Moon, Tyra’s previous pack, had been gone all day. Now that I was seeing him again, I was curious. I gauged who he was speaking with, Alpha Fox from Hollow Hill. He had been gone all day too.
“Alphas, anything new to report,” I asked, barging in on their conversation.
“Yeah. We were out just getting a few things for a contingency plan, should be coming up any minute,” Fox said.
I raised my eyebrow and looked at Nate who had just gotten to my side.
*I only just found out, they got weapons,* Nate said, over mind-link.
Fox and the others had tu
We made our way to our scouting location without another incident. We were checking out a watch tower. Someone passed me binoculars and I quickly began looking around. It didn’t seem like anyone was there. I estimated the tower to only be about a quarter mile over the property line.“Doesn’t seem like anyone is there,” Jake said, sneaking up on me.“You’re not supposed to be so close,” I said, annoyed.“Dude nobody knows this area better than me, I spent a lot of fucking nights in that tower,” he said, defiant.“Link some of your guys, see what they’re saying,” I said. He nodded.“Greg’s location is empty too, about four miles west of he
~Tyra’s Point of View~“He’s just so incredible! I mean yeah, he kind of looks like a caveman, and ohh let me tell you he was rough with me like one too! But I fucking loved it,” Vanessa said, rubbing her arms.“Do I have to hear this .. all night,” I whined.“Yes! You do damn it! If I can’t gush to you about my mate, then I only have mom and that’s just not happening,” she said, plopping on the bed.My parents had gone to Ridge’s pack, to help with things while most of the men were gone. We’d called them about an hour ago and they were wrangling some pups, trying to help get them ready for bed.“But even though he’s huge and sol
There was no time and not nearly enough hands to try and put it out. Our best hope was to evacuate everyone, unless driving everyone out of the house to be exposed was their plan. I quickly noticed there were already a lot of broken windows and my heart sank at how terrified everyone must be. My eyes darted to the trees, and I made at least seven sets of wolf eyes staring back at me. I spun around and moved back out front where I saw more people teleporting in, and more leaving. Zach was now here. “What do you know,” he said, running toward me. “At least seven wolves in the woods to the side of the house that’s on fire,” I said, catching my breath. “I made several out by my house, running toward the training grounds,” my
~Ridge’s Point of View~The fight broke out before it should have, before we had the numbers. However, the longer it went on the more reinforcements we had pouring in. Not to mention that Tyson was quite literally a wild beast, ripping out throats left and right. I was damn well going to invite him to help us train sometime.*Where is Zander,* I asked Pike and Nate.*No clue,* Nate said.*Don’t know,* Pike said.I felt a sudden pain in my chest, Tyra. She was scared, literally terrified. I was feeling her through our bond. Why would she be scared? She’s supposed to be-I was taken out of my thoughts as I felt the roar of a wolf behind me, I jerked m
~Tyra’s Point of View~ My thoughts were all over the place. When your pack hurts, you hurt, but obviously this was my first time feeling this pain. Several had been killed tonight, and I felt it in my bones. I felt the anguish of those suffering from injuries. I needed to do more, this was my pack. But right now, there was nothing I could do … not until Zander was dead. My she-wolf warriors had shoved me out the door until we were outside and close to the forest. I pleaded with them, I told them I would not leave my Alpha. I would not leave the injured. By the time we finished our argument I could hear Zander’s voice. It carried in the wind and echoed off the forest, he was out front. I convinced the ladies to shift back and we crept around the far side of the building. My heart nearly exploded whe
~Ridge’s Point of View~~One Week Later~With Zander dead, there was a new sense of calm that fell over all of the packs. There was a hope that rejuvenated everyone, and made us want to find a new normal. Zach and I immediately called for a meeting of Alphas and ranked warriors to join in solidarity and move forward in search of common ground. We all essentially wanted the same things: we wanted our packs to flourish and be safe. The days of walking on eggshells and being afraid of your neighbor would be gone. We would have only one common enemy: any rogues that saw fit to do bad things and any bad supernatural creatures. We greatly hoped that everyone working together would also decrease the rogue population … wolves genera
~Ryan’s Point of View~ I know sometimes I’m a little slow with obvious things, but I was quickly figuring out something that should make absolutely no sense. I had to be hallucinating. “Where is she,” I demanded, staring at the confused siblings. “She’s still a pup and they don’t come to mating parties,” the she-wolf said. Nate and I locked eyes intensely. “What pack are you from,” he demanded. “Hollow Hill,” Greg said, still confused. My feet were already moving and Nate was only two steps behind me. I’d have to race back to camp and get a vehicle, which might leave some people short for getting home
~Missy’s Point of View~ I stared down at my breakfast. Two hard boiled eggs, turkey bacon and a grapefruit. Yuck. I’d rather starve, then I guess at least I’d be the twig they want me to be. “Darling eat,” mom said. “If I can only eat eggs can they not at least be scrambled or something else,” I said, rolling my eyes. “Honey, you’ll be 17 in less than a year! You still have all that baby weight, do you want to disappoint your mate,” she said, stuffing her face with pancakes. “Baby weight? Really,” my dad said, stuffing his mouth as well. My eyes watched the syrup drip onto the plate and my stomach growled. I was pudgy okay? Easily thirty pounds overweigh
