I got a rotten feeling from her parents, and it was only the first time I’d met them. I didn’t like that she had to drop on them all at once that she was mated, and pregnant. They were clearly not happy but they also didn’t strike me as surprised. I made a mental note to ask Susie to spend a few minutes with them but I never got around to it.
