I was trying to keep my distance from Conrad.

I hadn’t told Ronan about his advances because that would seriously damage our new alliance, but I was also being careful because I had no desire to sleep with him at all. I mean he was handsome and charming, but to cheat on Ronan again would be a death sentence.

I wanted to tell Alice so badly, but I didn’t want her thinking I was welcoming this behavior. I was sure when I gave birth I would be so busy being a mother and then Alice would be pregnant and Conrad would have other things to deal with.

There was really only one person to tell.

“Well that won’t be good,” Trisha stated.

“I know, right?” I asked. “ I don’t know what to do. What do you think Ronan would do if he found out?”

“I think he would murder Conrad.”

“Oh goodness, so telling him is out of the question, right?”

“I think so, honey.” She sighed

“How do I avoid him?” I asked.

“Spend more time with Luna Alice, maybe?”

“I’m trying, but Conrad always finds some way to send her
