Chapter 11

Author: Zoe bear
(Richard’s POV)

“It’s Ann, of course.”

The words left my mouth before I could stop them, and Rocco slammed on the brakes. Tires screamed across the asphalt.

“I’m sorry, Alpha!” His forehead glistened with cold sweat.

Surprisingly, I didn’t snap. I just lifted my eyes and met him through the rearview mirror. Cold. Controlled. “Does that answer shock you?”

His hands trembled. Not shock… terror. Like the entire foundation of his world had crumbled. He whispered, “But… I’ve seen you be better to Miss Lynn than to Ann…”

I pressed a hand to my forehead and sank back into the leather seat. “That’s because she saved me.”

Outside, neon lights flickered, slicing the darkness of the road. For the first time in a long while, I felt… exhausted. Memories hit me in waves.

The academy. Moonstone. Young she-wolves faking injuries, scrambling for attention. On a full moon night, some even laid bones in the shape of a heart, desperate for me to notice.

One Beta had joked, “Why don’t you just let one get

(Ann’s POV)I learned compliance on the twenty-seventh day of my captivity.I stopped starving myself. I stopped fighting. I even smiled at Richard from time to time.At first, he was cautious, watching every move. But slowly, he started to believe I had truly surrendered—believed I had finally accepted my fate. One morning, he stood by the bed, tied undone, hair tousled. His voice was low, calm. “What do you want to eat today?”I leaned against the headboard, letting my long hair fall across my shoulders, voice steady. “Something you make.”For a heartbeat, surprise flickered across his face, followed by a rare, genuine smile. “Okay.” He turned toward the kitchen, shoulders easing slightly for the first time in weeks.I watched him walk away, but I didn’t smile.*Now, Ann.” Lily’s voice was calm but urgent inside my head. “He’s finally let his guard down. This is our chance.”I yanked the covers off and pulled a miniature terminal from beneath the mattress—stolen from his study last w

(Ann’s POV)The private island. Early morning. The helicopter touched down, its blades whipping the sea air into chaos. When the roar finally faded, only the sound of crashing waves remained.Richard carried me off the chopper, but the moment my feet hit solid ground, I shoved him away. The skirt of my wedding gown whipped wildly in the wind. I glared at him, my voice sharp as a blade. “Kidnapping? Since when Alpha Richard stooped this low?”Instead of anger, his lips curved into a soft, dangerous chuckle. “So what?” He reached for me, his fingers trailing across my cheek—cold to the touch yet burning with possessive heat. “Ann, you’re mine. In this lifetime, you will never belong to anyone else.”---Inside the villa, Richard played tour guide like he hadn’t just dragged me here against my will.“Everything here is yours,” he said, pushing open floor-to-ceiling windows. The sea breeze rushed in, thick with salt. His eyes locked on me, dangerous and unrelenting. “The garden. The pool.

The night before the wedding, in the private estate of the Bloodmoon Pack.I sat at the dressing table in the bridal suite, my fingers tracing the tiny crystal beads sewn into my wedding gown. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, the garden glittered under countless lights. Servants moved like shadows, arranging crystal lamps, white archways, and silver ribbons—everything perfectly orchestrated for tomorrow’s ceremony.A soft knock interrupted my thoughts.“Ann?”William stepped into the room, dressed in a tailored black suit. In one hand, he held a steaming Americano; in the other, a small velvet box. His calm blue eyes studied me, patient, almost protective.“You barely touched breakfast,” he said softly, placing the coffee beside me. “The kitchen said you only drank half a cup of milk.”I looked up, a faint smile tugging at my lips. “Are you here to scold me?”He bent slightly, placing the velvet box in my hands. “I wouldn’t dare. I just… worry about you.”I opened it to find a row

“The Bloodmoon Pack and Moonstone Corp have always been rivals… and that looks like Richard. Why is he here?”Whispers rippled through the banquet hall, spreading like wildfire. Every eye turned toward the entrance.Richard stood there, immaculately dressed in black, exuding a commanding aura. His greenish-brown eyes were dark enough to swallow the entire night, fixated on my hand in William’s. It was like he wanted to incinerate the bond between us with a single glare.“My goodness… is he here to steal her?” someone murmured.William immediately stepped in front of me, his broad shoulders rigid, his Alpha aura radiating like claws ready to strike. The hall fell silent under the weight of his presence. But I stayed calm, far calmer than I expected. I met Richard’s gaze, a small, knowing smile playing on my lips.“Richard,” I said softly, letting the words roll over him like ice, “what are you doing here? Did you come to give me a wedding gift?”You’re tearing open his heart, Lily whisp

“Ten years ago… at the North City yacht party…” William’s voice was low, carrying a natural Alpha pressure, but there was a rare tension beneath it.“Have you really forgotten… the kid you saved back then?”My chest tightened instantly, and the wolf inside me—Lily—let out a low, rumbling growl, as if a long-buried memory had been awakened.“It’s him,” Lily’s voice whispered firmly in my mind. “I remember those eyes.”My breath caught. Memories crashed back like a tidal wave.It was ten years ago, on the glittering coast of North City, at a yacht party that sparkled under the moonlight. Champagne glasses clinked, laughter mingled with music, and investors in tailored suits discussed business deals. Blonde socialites whispered about celebrity scandals on their phones.I had wandered to the edge of the deck for some air when I heard a sudden splash.Plunk!A small boy had fallen into the dark, icy sea.Without thinking, I dove in. The Atlantic’s cold pierced my skin like knives, waves thr

“What did you say?!” My voice exploded like thunder, shaking the very air. My knuckles dug into my phone until they ached. The car entered a tunnel, and the signal vanished. The call was gone.“Turn around! Go to David’s house!” I barked, my tone icy, my greenish-brown eyes bloodshot, burning with barely restrained fury. Every muscle in my body screamed to tear everything apart.Rocco’s hands trembled as he gripped the wheel, spinning the car around with a terrified nod. When I stormed into David’s villa, he looked perfectly calm, leisurely sipping his coffee as if he had all the time in the world.“Ann has already… married into the Bloodmoon Pack?” I enunciated each word, venom dripping from every syllable.David froze for a split second before forcing a fake smile. “She left three days ago. The Alpha is… fragile, near the end. He offered fifty billion for a Bonding bride. Perfect for Ann, right? And you… now you have peace. No more Ann. You can finally live quietly with Lynn…”“Shut
