Livia POV

As I approached the garden, my eyes landed on a tall giant of a man dressed in an immaculate black suit, his muscles reaping out of the suit, casually tapping away on his phone.

His absolute presence was intimidating for a start. I hesitated, completely unsure of what to say or how to greet him.

Taking a deep breath, I cleared my throat and tried to force my voice into Livyana’s soft, timid tone. "Good afternoon, Your Highness."

It was only when I took a step forward that I looked down—and my heart instantly dropped into my stomach. I was wearing two completely different colored slippers. And to make matters worse, both of them were for the left foot.

I wished with everything in me that the ground would open up and swallow me whole.

The Alpha King slowly lowered his designer glasses, looking at me with a stern face. His eyes dragged all the way from the crown of my head down to the sole of my mismatched feet, and then back up again. The dead silence only amplified the searing embarrassment burning across my cheeks.

"I’m sorry, Your Highness," I squeaked out shyly, praying to the Moon Goddess to end my misery right then and there. This was obviously her subtle way of reminding me that swapping places with my twin was a catastrophic mistake. "I know my left from my right. I was just... a bit anxious about meeting you."

He let out a low chuckle, his lips twitching slightly. "That’s okay. You look exactly like your picture, though."

I prayed for a sudden window of opportunity to faint. Did he just compliment me? Before I could stop myself, the words slipped out: "Is that a compliment?"

Realizing my mistake, I quickly lowered my head, forcing myself to stay calm and play the part of the soft-spoken, easygoing Livyana.

"It’s just an observation," he responded flatly.

I couldn't help but note the deep, rich baritone of his voice and the effortless authority in the way he stood, rooted firmly to the ground. His cologne was overwhelmingly masculine, a rich wood-and-spice scent that made me stupidly curious about which luxury designer he was wearing. But I bit my lip hard, forcing myself to stay silent like the obedient bride I was supposed to be.

Still, standing there in silence while the Alpha King mindlessly tapped away on his phone felt like a slow humiliation ritual.

This was precisely why I hated men. I wondered why the Moon Goddess always saw fit to curse the most good-looking men with the absolute- absolute worst personalities. Why keep a girl waiting out here in the scorching May Town heat for no reason?

I couldn't take it anymore. I squeezed my eyes shut, gathered every ounce of self-control I possessed, and tried to sound as sweet and polite as possible.

"Don't you think it's a bit awkward that your bride-to-be is standing here in this scorching heat, while you're just on your phone?"

"I’ll soon be done," he said mindlessly, not even looking up.

I turned my head away, rolling my eyes so hard it physically hurt, before quickly plastering an innocent smile back onto my face. If I couldn't even stand him for five minutes, how in the world was I going to survive the next three months living under his roof?

"I’m done. Are you happy now?" he asked, finally sliding his phone into his jacket pocket. He looked around the garden, his dark eyes settling back on me with an amused glint. "So... who do we have here? A nervous, impatient bride with mismatched slippers. Is this how you intend to become my Luna?"

My blood began to boil. Deep inside, the real Livia was screaming, ready to give him a mouthful regardless of his royal title or social status. But I held it back. I forced a cuddly, docile smile, chuckling like a clueless sheep, trying to look like a willing bride who swallowed every insult with a grin.
"I hope this isn't entirely your personality?" he added, raising an eyebrow.

"Can I ask you one question?" I asked, silently begging the Moon Goddess to filter the words about to come out of my mouth.

"Sure... shoot your questions," he said calmly, crossing his arms over his chest. "Isn't that why we are here? To ask questions?"

"Why are we doing this?"

The real Livia inside me was fighting with everything she had to burst out. There was no way a man as breathtakingly handsome and powerful as the Alpha King needed his mother to arrange a marriage for him—unless, of course, he was a massive mama's boy.

Gosh, I hated men like that.
Or maybe he had a secret. Maybe he was partially mentally unstable and needed a quiet, sweet bride to babysit him. The thought made my head spin.

"I'm doing it for the exact same reason you are doing it," he replied sternly.

I frowned, genuine confusion breaking through my act. "Which is?"

He paused, stepping closer. His dark eyes locked onto mine with an intensity that made my heart leap into my throat.

"Look, we both know this marriage doesn't make an iota of sense," he said quietly, his voice cutting through the humid air. "Yet here we are. So it's either we both have something to gain from it, or we're just letting our parents have their way. Which one is it for you?"

In any other situation, the real Livia would have told him where to shove his marriage proposal and walked away. But as I looked at him, he offered a faint, smooth smile—and I smiled back, remembering the profound relief on my mother's face when his mother paid off our mountain of debt.

Oh, Moon Goddess, I thought, looking into the dangerous eyes of the Alpha King. Poor Livyana. If this is the man you're supposed to spend forever with... you are in deep trouble.

Livia POVI was making my way back to the main house, my head still throbbing from the morning's kitchen drama, when I heard the Queen Mother’s rich, sing-song voice behind me."Is that my beautiful daughter-in-law?"I instantly fixed my face with a polite smile, swallowing the mountain of complaints resting on the tip of my tongue. More questions pricked my mind as minutes went by, but I forced my expression to remain serene."Come... come," Queen Mother Raychel said warmly as she approached, taking my hand and leading me into the living room. She gestured for us to sit on the sofa. "So, how was your night, my dear? I hope you slept well."I recalled the utter madness from last night and fought the desperate urge to roll my eyes."It was fine," I purred softly, folding my hands in my lap. "I slept like a married woman."Maybe lying was another thing I was naturally gifted at, considering how quickly my response lit up the Queen Mother's face."So... I presume sleeping like a married

Livia POV“Rule Number 4: I would like to stay on top of things—I will never leave all the chores to the staff. It is my absolute duty as Luna to keep my husband's house clean and orderly.”Livyana had to be out of her mind. She had to be.I stared at the screen of my phone, my jaw was literally sweeping the wooden floor at this point. These weren't rules a true Luna must follow —these were rules on how to be a perpetual, underpaid housemaid 101! So Livyana is trying to tell me she would leave the luxuries of this estate to be a slave just to score cheap points at being such a dutiful wife?Seriously?I visibly, physically could not see myself manifesting these ridiculous directives for the next three days, let alone three long, agonizing months.Besides, what was there even to clean?!I slipped my phone into my pocket in my dress, crossed my arms, and began pacing down the hallways of the estate. I looked around in sheer disbelief. Something’s stood out for me.First it was the way

Livia POVThis man is rude!I had officially had enough. I didn't need a soothsayer to tell me that my presence in his room was no longer needed, and frankly, my body was screaming for sleep. So, I dramatically bowed my head, turned on my heel, and led myself out of his room. I didn't want a situation that would trigger another episode like last night. Truth be told, I was still a bit shaken by the whole thing. What if Alpha Tarian had actually died in my arms? He was so large, so impossibly strong, yet surprisingly fragile under the right circumstances. I needed to be extremely careful around here. The very first thing I did when I finally reached the safety of my own room was tear off that hideous burgundy nightie. I locked the doors behind me—determined to suffer zero interruptions—and was just about to crash into the plush king-sized bed when my phone chimed on the stand.I froze, easing off a long groan before picking it up to read Livyana’s message:“Liv, I am so sorry for be

Tarian POVI woke up to bulgy eyes staring into my face and screamed.Livyana jumped back to her own side of the bed, hugging a pillow tightly to her chest. "Did you see a ghost?!" she gasped.I rubbed my eyes, glaring at her through the morning light. "Are you not a bad dream, considering the chaos you put me through last night?"She placed one hand on her chest and the other on her head, trying to stabilize her skipping heartbeat. "Thank the Moon Goddess you are still alive!""What was that for?" I asked, my voice dry and raspy. She took a deep breath, wincing slightly. "Is that the thank you I get for watching over you all through the night? Please just let me be, my body hurts."Did she just ask me to let her be? In such a manner?I ignored her for a second and picked up my phone from the nightstand. The screen lit up with breaking news notifications across May Town's pack networks.ROYAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Queen Mother Raychel Welcomes the Vivour-Wilson Family to the Royal Line. Gift

Livia POVWait, is this a joke?! Why on earth is his dick out?!Take it from me—Alpha Tarian has gone completely, utterly mad, and his insanity clearly peaks at different hours of the day!He stepped closer, his eyes burning with unholy desires as he gestured to his front. "Why are you acting so surprised? Just a few minutes ago you acted like you wanted me—calling me your darling husband, remember? Now, would it really be a bad idea if you give your darling husband some of that sugar? Spread your legs and do not make me wait."This man is indeed mad! Moon goddess save your daughter. I should not have joked or called him darling or any terms of endearment. Now I will have to be dragging my underwear with this man in a couple of seconds if you don’t intervene, dear moon goddess!"I am sorry, but where am I spreading my legs to?" I chided him, my voice trembling slightly as I desperately tried to cling to the naive Livyana script. "There is more than enough space on the bed for both of

Tarian POVI walked into the walk-in closet, closing the door behind me, and leaned heavily against the edge of the half-length mirror. I closed my eyes and drew in a long, steadying breath. I just needed to do this for a few minutes to calm the mixed feelings brewing inside me.I hated sharing my bed. I detested the very thought of someone invading my personal space, and for that single reason, I was deeply grateful for one thing: Livyana and I would only be spending this one mandatory night together. Tomorrow, she would return to her own quarters. I urged myself to simply endure her presence for a few hours. Just one night.I reached out and picked a set of dark blue nightwear from the rack. The moment the smooth fabric touched my fingers, a wave of nostalgia slammed into my chest. Dark blue had been Moriah’s favorite color. And While I tried it on, Instantly, my mind flashed back to my first night with Moriah in this very villa. It had been wild, passionate, and completely uninhibi
