Livia POV

I dropped a pile of folded laundry onto my bed, my head still spinning from the chaos of the last twenty-four hours. Things were indeed falling apart and out of logical reasoning.

My father may have lost the plot entirely, because what did he mean by asking my spineless, yet sweet twin sister to marry the Alpha King?

A man she has not met?

And she willingly agreed. If anything, I do not like when women are treated like items to be cargoed or used as collaterals to solve problems.

Whatever we were going through currently was definitely temporary and definitely not worth sacrificing my twin sister for an easy way out, but the good daughter has already agreed. The bedroom door flew open, and Livyana burst in, her face pale and her hands shaking violently.

"I can't do this, Livia," she gasped, her voice trembling. "I can't!"

I crossed my arms, still madly upset with her after our brief meeting with father yesterday. "Why can't you? What were you thinking, agreeing to a marriage with the Alpha King? A man you’ve never even met or spoken to?"

"I agreed because I saw how happy Mum and Dad were!" Livyana cried, wringing her hands. "You saw the debt! It was the only way out, Livia. I couldn't bring myself to crush their hopes after everything the Queen Mother did for us."

Before I could reply, the deep, resonant blast of a ceremonial horn echoed through the compound, shaking the floor beneath our feet. The Alpha King had arrived.

I walked over to the window, flicking the curtain back just enough to peek outside. Jet-black vehicles were pouring into our driveway, surrounded by a legion of royal guards.

"Well, looks like your husband-to-be has arrived to claim you," I said dryly, letting the curtain fall shut.

"Your precious buyer has come for his homely bag of sweet potatoes and soon-to-be pup-making machine."

"Livia, please!" Livyana burst into tears, covering her face. "You're making me feel worse, and right now is really not the time."

"You already accepted the proposal, Livy," I said, my voice softening slightly despite myself. "You either deal with it, or better yet—go down there and cancel it."

"Cancel what?!" she sobbed. "And have our things thrown out on the street? We don't have the propensity to insult Her Majesty’s kindness! She has been nothing but gracious to us, Livia. We can't give her a reason to destroy our family."

"Then happy married life to you," I muttered, turning back to my laundry.

The door swung open again, and Mum hurried in, her face flushed with excitement. "Why aren't you dressed yet, my beautiful child? The Alpha King is waiting downstairs! Hurry up, quickly!" Without waiting for an answer, she rushed back out to play host.

Livyana panicked. "Livia, you have to help me. I can't go out there like this. I can't!"

"Why can't you?" I snapped, growing thoroughly impatient. "Just walk downstairs!"

Instead of answering, Livyana turned and bolted into the bathroom. Seconds later, the sound of violent retching filled the room. When she stumbled back out, wiping her mouth, she looked faint and utterly pale.

"I’m pregnant," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "It's Nathan's."

I froze. The shirt in my hands dropped to the floor. "What do you mean, you're pregnant?"

"I didn't know!" she sobbed, clutching her stomach.

"I’ve been feeling sick for weeks, so I went to the pack doctor this morning. She told me I'm already two months along. I asked her about terminating it, but she said I can't. Because of my weak constitution, a late termination could cause severe complications—it could kill me."

"Then we have to go down there right now and tell Dad the truth!" I declared, reaching for her wrist. "You cannot marry the Alpha King while carrying another man's baby! If he finds out, he will have you executed for treason!"

"That’s why you need to help me, Livia," Livyana begged, grabbing my hands and holding them tight.

I stopped. I stared at her, watching the desperate, calculating look in her eyes. "Don't tell me you're insinuating what I think you're insinuating."

"You’ve always wanted to escape this hellhole!" Livyana pleaded, her words coming in a desperate rush. "You can just pretend to be me for three months! I'll leave May Town, go somewhere quiet, and have the baby. Once it's born, we can swap places back!"

"And what happens to the child?!" I shouted in a harsh whisper. "You expect me to spend three months playing second fiddle to a powerful Alpha? How selfish can you be, Livy?! You want me to trade my entire life away just like that?"

"Livia, you're my twin sister!" tears streamed down her cheeks. "Would you rather watch me be dragged through the mud, publicly shamed, or become a total disappointment to our parents? What about Mum how would a news of this kind impact her health? It’s just three months! I swear I’ll come back! As for the baby, the pack doctor promised to help me find a good, loving family to adopt it discreetly. Please, Livia. I’ve covered for you so many times. Just help me this once!"

Heavy footsteps echoed in the hallway. The door swung open, and Dad walked in, I could tell from the look on his face that he was happy, the unusually proud kind of happy.

He didn’t even look my way, he went straight to my sister,"Livyana, the Alpha King has requested a private audience with you," Dad said, smiling warmly at her. "He is waiting in the garden. Please, make sure he finds you likeable. I trust you, my dear daughter." He gave her an approving nod and stepped back out, closing the door behind him.

Silence fell over the room, a thousand thoughts going through my mind at once.

I squeezed my eyes shut, pressing my palms against my temples as my blood ran cold. This was madness. Absolute, suicidal madness.

"Gosh, Livyana, this is a terrible idea," I hissed, opening my eyes to glare at her. "But three months! That's it! You better not bail out on me!"

Livyana gasped, throwing her arms around my neck in a crushing hug. "Thank you so much! Thank you, my soul sister! I love you so much.”

We did not have time, so we quickly switched into each other’s cloths before I slipped out the bedroom door, I prayed that would not regret agreeing to do this.

Livia POVI was making my way back to the main house, my head still throbbing from the morning's kitchen drama, when I heard the Queen Mother’s rich, sing-song voice behind me."Is that my beautiful daughter-in-law?"I instantly fixed my face with a polite smile, swallowing the mountain of complaints resting on the tip of my tongue. More questions pricked my mind as minutes went by, but I forced my expression to remain serene."Come... come," Queen Mother Raychel said warmly as she approached, taking my hand and leading me into the living room. She gestured for us to sit on the sofa. "So, how was your night, my dear? I hope you slept well."I recalled the utter madness from last night and fought the desperate urge to roll my eyes."It was fine," I purred softly, folding my hands in my lap. "I slept like a married woman."Maybe lying was another thing I was naturally gifted at, considering how quickly my response lit up the Queen Mother's face."So... I presume sleeping like a married

Livia POV“Rule Number 4: I would like to stay on top of things—I will never leave all the chores to the staff. It is my absolute duty as Luna to keep my husband's house clean and orderly.”Livyana had to be out of her mind. She had to be.I stared at the screen of my phone, my jaw was literally sweeping the wooden floor at this point. These weren't rules a true Luna must follow —these were rules on how to be a perpetual, underpaid housemaid 101! So Livyana is trying to tell me she would leave the luxuries of this estate to be a slave just to score cheap points at being such a dutiful wife?Seriously?I visibly, physically could not see myself manifesting these ridiculous directives for the next three days, let alone three long, agonizing months.Besides, what was there even to clean?!I slipped my phone into my pocket in my dress, crossed my arms, and began pacing down the hallways of the estate. I looked around in sheer disbelief. Something’s stood out for me.First it was the way

Livia POVThis man is rude!I had officially had enough. I didn't need a soothsayer to tell me that my presence in his room was no longer needed, and frankly, my body was screaming for sleep. So, I dramatically bowed my head, turned on my heel, and led myself out of his room. I didn't want a situation that would trigger another episode like last night. Truth be told, I was still a bit shaken by the whole thing. What if Alpha Tarian had actually died in my arms? He was so large, so impossibly strong, yet surprisingly fragile under the right circumstances. I needed to be extremely careful around here. The very first thing I did when I finally reached the safety of my own room was tear off that hideous burgundy nightie. I locked the doors behind me—determined to suffer zero interruptions—and was just about to crash into the plush king-sized bed when my phone chimed on the stand.I froze, easing off a long groan before picking it up to read Livyana’s message:“Liv, I am so sorry for be

Tarian POVI woke up to bulgy eyes staring into my face and screamed.Livyana jumped back to her own side of the bed, hugging a pillow tightly to her chest. "Did you see a ghost?!" she gasped.I rubbed my eyes, glaring at her through the morning light. "Are you not a bad dream, considering the chaos you put me through last night?"She placed one hand on her chest and the other on her head, trying to stabilize her skipping heartbeat. "Thank the Moon Goddess you are still alive!""What was that for?" I asked, my voice dry and raspy. She took a deep breath, wincing slightly. "Is that the thank you I get for watching over you all through the night? Please just let me be, my body hurts."Did she just ask me to let her be? In such a manner?I ignored her for a second and picked up my phone from the nightstand. The screen lit up with breaking news notifications across May Town's pack networks.ROYAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Queen Mother Raychel Welcomes the Vivour-Wilson Family to the Royal Line. Gift

Livia POVWait, is this a joke?! Why on earth is his dick out?!Take it from me—Alpha Tarian has gone completely, utterly mad, and his insanity clearly peaks at different hours of the day!He stepped closer, his eyes burning with unholy desires as he gestured to his front. "Why are you acting so surprised? Just a few minutes ago you acted like you wanted me—calling me your darling husband, remember? Now, would it really be a bad idea if you give your darling husband some of that sugar? Spread your legs and do not make me wait."This man is indeed mad! Moon goddess save your daughter. I should not have joked or called him darling or any terms of endearment. Now I will have to be dragging my underwear with this man in a couple of seconds if you don’t intervene, dear moon goddess!"I am sorry, but where am I spreading my legs to?" I chided him, my voice trembling slightly as I desperately tried to cling to the naive Livyana script. "There is more than enough space on the bed for both of

Tarian POVI walked into the walk-in closet, closing the door behind me, and leaned heavily against the edge of the half-length mirror. I closed my eyes and drew in a long, steadying breath. I just needed to do this for a few minutes to calm the mixed feelings brewing inside me.I hated sharing my bed. I detested the very thought of someone invading my personal space, and for that single reason, I was deeply grateful for one thing: Livyana and I would only be spending this one mandatory night together. Tomorrow, she would return to her own quarters. I urged myself to simply endure her presence for a few hours. Just one night.I reached out and picked a set of dark blue nightwear from the rack. The moment the smooth fabric touched my fingers, a wave of nostalgia slammed into my chest. Dark blue had been Moriah’s favorite color. And While I tried it on, Instantly, my mind flashed back to my first night with Moriah in this very villa. It had been wild, passionate, and completely uninhibi
