YELENA

Gosh. When had he even been here?

Did he hear all my rants with Nyra? Oh, Moon, I hoped not.

But gods he looked so damn good.

He must’ve showered because he smelled fresh, clean, and wild. He wore black shorts and a sleeveless white shirt that clung to his chest. His long black hair was braided neatly to the back, the usual style that made him look like sin wrapped in calm.

“Who are you talking to?”

His voice came deep and cold, crawling down my spine like a command.

I froze.

Oh no.

“Lena! Lena! Are you still there? Why are you looking like you saw a ghost?!” Nyra yelled into the phone.

Crap.

I snatched my phone from the table and whispered, “Shut up, Nyra. I’ll call you later. Bye!” I hung up before she could start her nonsense again.

As if on cue, my phone rang again. I cut it.

“Could she not think like a normal person for once?"I muttered under my breath.

Tristan moved toward me in slow, deliberate steps like a predator studying prey. My heartbeat quickened, but I didn’t mov

YELENAI entered the building. The moment my foot crossed the marble floor, wolves started bowing. Some even muttered, “Luna,” like it was supposed to make me proud. But honestly? That title had started to annoy me.Because what was the essence of being a Luna when your Alpha was somewhere else, lusting after his real mate?My chest tightened at the thought. Why didn’t I talk about it before I married him? Why did I believe love could replace fate?I walked to the receptionist’s desk. A tall, fair-skinned she-wolf stood there, she was slim, polished, with long lashes that didn’t even blink when she saw me. Her eyes said it all... what are you doing here? Not a single greeting. Not even a fake smile.“Is Alpha around?” I asked, keeping my voice calm. She didn’t answer. Just looked at her computer like she didn’t hear me.I breathed in deeply. “I said, is Alpha Tristan around?”It took everything in me not to bang the desk. I was one second away from making the sound echo through her ti

  • Alpha Tristan Regretted Divorcing Me    Chapter 17: Broken News

YELENAI got up early the next morning before the sun even thought of rising. My body felt heavy, but I still dragged myself out of bed. I didn’t want to think. Thinking only brought memories I didn’t want... And moreover, it was too early for that, and I had work to do.I moved around the house quietly, cleaned the kitchen, swept the floor, and packed my things for work. I dressed up quickly, tied my hair, and checked the mirror one last time. My eyes looked swollen. Great, now I look like a panda. I sighed and grabbed my bag. Then it hit me. My phone.I groaned, remembering what I did last night. I threw it. Out of anger. What kind of stupid anger made me throw my phone when I knew Tristan wasn’t going to repair it for me? I bent down and pulled it from under the chair when I reached downstairs. Lucky for me, it wasn’t totally broken. The screen was cracked like a spiderweb, but it still looked alive... well, half alive.“Guess you’ll survive until I change my mind,” I muttered at i

  • Alpha Tristan Regretted Divorcing Me    Chapter 16: The Bite of Betrayal

YELENAWas Jackson becoming mad or something?I thought he hated me so much that he’d rather drown me in paperwork than breathe the same air as me. For two whole years, that man treated me like I was invisible or worse, like I was an error that needed constant fixing. Apart from the first time we found out we were mates, he’d never even looked at me twice. And now… at the hospital today? He had the guts, the actual guts to kiss me? Not just that, he went ahead and fingered me like I was some kind of experiment he wanted to test!Oh no. This wasn’t his fault. This was Tristan’s fault. If he hadn’t seen that woman at the anniversary, Jackson wouldn’t have gone all wild wolf on me. He saw things weren’t going well with me and, like the nosy, overprotective fool he was, he acted without thinking.Ugh. That man was such a stupid, arrogant, perverted doctor who didn’t even know what love means. He probably thinks “feelings” are a disease.I didn’t even realize how tight I was gripping the k

  • Alpha Tristan Regretted Divorcing Me    Chapter 15: The Wright of Two Years Rejection

JACKSON I’d always liked my job. Being a werewolf doctor kept me busy enough not to care about the whole “fated-mate” nonsense. Mates were trouble, just like women in general, pretty chaos wrapped in perfume. I used to tell myself that staying single was smarter than getting caught in their storms. That was before the moon goddess decided to laugh at me.Two years ago, when I got transferred to Blue Moon Hospital, everything was perfect. The nurses respected me, the doctor in charge gave me space, and no one flirts around my office. Then I saw her.Yelena.The one who was supposed to be mine. And she was already married to the Alpha of this pack.My first thought was that the goddess had made a mistake. My second was that Yelena was desperate for power, running to whoever had the highest title. I told myself I didn’t care, but the rejection burned deeper than any wound. Every time I passed her in the hallway, my chest tightened. Every time she smiled at someone else, my wolf snarled

YELENAI couldn’t believe my ears when my parents told me she was his mate. His mate? The same woman who appeared out of nowhere like she owned the moon itself? How could he have a mate we never even saw?The Crossword family had always been private, yes. They did things quietly, behind closed doors. But not showing your Luna? That was new even for them.I must have been such a fool. A blind, stupid fool. All this time, I thought we were building something real. I thought maybe one day he’d love me the way I loved him. And now I find out that the reason he never marked me, no matter how many times I begged. So, it was because he had already marked her.His real mate. The one he claimed before me.The one he never told me about. So why the hell were they meeting now?Where had she been hiding all this time? And if she thought she could just stroll back into town and take my husband, she had another thing coming. I wasn’t leaving him. Not after everything I sacrificed.By night, everyon

  • Alpha Tristan Regretted Divorcing Me    Chapter 13: Two Years Later

YELENAIt’s been two years since I married Tristan, and if I’m being honest, it wasn’t the dream I had pictured. It wasn’t the fairytale I used to imagine when I thought of him. We looked perfect from the outside, Alpha and Luna, power couple of the Blue Moon pack but inside, it felt like we were both forcing it.And gods, I love him. I love him so much it scares me sometimes. I never thought my heart could hold this much love and pain all at once. He treated me nicely when he wanted to, but lately, his coldness has been cutting deep. And every time I looked into his eyes, I saw something broken there, something hurting. But he never talked about it. Never opened up. Whenever I tried, he either said he was busy or dragged me to bed to distract me with things that made my brain forget questions. And like a fool, I let him. I keep hoping one day he will heal, one day he will love me fully again.“Where is the groom?”Nyra’s voice made me roll my eyes before I even turned. She barged i
