Chapter Thirty-Three

Alex’s POV

“She is pissed off,” Jacob informed me and I only laughed. I already knew that she was going to be so that wasn’t a surprise to me.

I got to the pack quickly and saw that they were lined up but Bertha was nowhere to be found.

“She has grown into a fine lady. Her mate must be so lucky.” Jacob said to me and I hit his head. He liked her so much when we were little but never told her. He knew that she wasn’t into him and he wanted to wait for his mate too.

“Do you still…” I asked him with a wide eye and he shook his head.

“No. Of course not. It’s been so many years already. It would be crazy if I still do.” He said to me but I only smirked. It sounded like he was only trying to convince himself.

“Okay then. If she hasn’t found her mate, you still have a chance.” I said to him and he laughed.

“I don’t want to play around Alex. This is a crucial time for me to meet my mate.”

“And what if she is the one?”

“She isn’t. We already hugged and we both didn’t get that feeling.” He said
