Chapter 42
I slowly flutter my eyes open to the warm light. Everything is hazy and my head feels like a bag of heavy stones. I grit my teeth and hold my head. A warm hand touches my shoulder. I blink a few times to adjust to the vision until the blurred images take a shape and I see a girl sitting at my side. For some reason, I know that girl. Her hazel brown eyes look at me with sheer concern. Where have I seen that before?
Her lips move apart to speak. "Cinn? Are you alright?" Cinn? Hmm. I know someone who calls me by that name. Oh wait. I know her! Tessa!
My eyes shoot open and I look around myself. The place is familiar. The same curtains and the rows of beds. All of a sudden my throat feels dry. "Water."
