Lucas’s POV

She walked out on me. Again.

Only this time, she didn’t leave broken and crying.

No, this time, Selina Carter left with her head high, her hips swaying like she owned the damn fucking world, and the taste of her defiance still thick in the air. And for the first time in my life, I couldn’t breathe.

I stood in the center of the lounge, fists clenched, my heart slamming against my ribs like a caged beast. The echo of her heels clicking down the hallway was the only sound I could focus on.

She was supposed to be shattered. Bitter. Maybe smug. But not… that.

She was fucking bold, cold, and so fucking untouchable.

The moment I’d pressed her to that wall, I felt it—the crackle of something wild and primal that still existed between us. That thing neither time nor betrayal could erase. The mate bond was fractured, twisted, but it was still alive.

She felt it, too. I know she did. Her breath hitched. Her body arched. For one second, her eyes weren’t steel—they were fire. I know she wanted me to stretch her pussy so, so hard. But then she turned away like I was nothing.

I slammed my fist into the wall with a savage growl. Plaster cracked under the force, and blood dripped from my knuckles, hot and satisfying.

She was baiting me. Provoking me. Making a show of her power, her independence, and her success. And fuck, did it turn me on? It did so fucking hard.

But she’d gone too far. Challenging me in front of everyone. Bringing armed guards to my territory. Speaking to me like I was just another man she could walk over.

I wasn’t just any man. I was her mate. And I was going to make her remember that.

I pulled out my phone and hit the secure line.

“Grant.”

“Sir?”

“Full background on every one of her board members, financial supporters, and legal advisors. I want leverage—dirty, personal, financial. If she’s standing on a throne, I want to know what legs are weak enough to break.”

“Yes, sir. Anything else?”

“Have her bodyguards followed. Discreetly. I want to know where she eats, who she meets, and where she sleeps. I fucking wanted to know if she's giving my pussy to someone else.”

“You want her tailed?”

“I want her watched.” I paused. “But not touched. Not unless I say otherwise.”

Because the next time I got my hands on her, I wanted her alone. No guards. No press. No power to hide behind.

Just us. And the truth.

The truth that she still fucking belongs to me.

Selina’s POV

I needed to breathe.

The second I stepped out of the lounge and into the night air, I sucked in a lungful of cool oxygen like I’d been drowning inside.

Lucas’s scent still clung to me—earthy, spicy, wild. My body still hummed with the memory of his presence, the heat of his breath on my skin, and the hunger in his voice.

And it made me sick. Because my body didn’t care that he was the man who destroyed me.

It only remembered the way he used to touch me. The way his voice used to drop when he whispered my name like a secret. The way our bond used to feel like a firestorm every time he kissed me and took me.

I hated that I remembered.

And I hated that I still wanted him dead and somehow alive in my bed at the same time. Fuck! I am starting to believe this is a dangerous game.

“Ma’am.” Liam, my lead security, opened the door of the black SUV and offered a subtle nod. His eyes flicked to the building behind me. “Everything alright?”

“Perfect,” I said smoothly, slipping into the back seat with all the poise of a queen returning from war.

He didn’t ask anything else. He didn’t need to. Everyone in my circle knew Lucas Blackwood was the one subject that turned me from ice to wildfire.

As the SUV pulled away from the curb, I glanced at the driver’s rearview mirror.

No tail.

Not yet.

But I knew Lucas. He wasn’t going to let this go. That look in his eyes—that unhinged mix of regret and dominance—meant he’d be coming for me.

Good. Let him come. Let him crawl through glass if he has to. I’d burned once for him. Let’s see how well he does under fire.

Lucas’s POV

By the next morning, I had everything I needed.

Her company’s contracts. Her private security files. Her real estate holdings. Offshore accounts. Even the names of the elite schools she’d quietly donated to. One of them had a record under the name “D. Carter.”

A child.

That name lit my blood on fire. I stared at the document on my desk, my breath caught somewhere between rage and disbelief.

D. Carter.

A child. Age: Five.

Mother: Selina Carter.

No record of a father.

No public birth record.

Conceived five years ago—around the same time she left.

My vision blurred.

Could it be—?

No.

No. She wouldn’t…

She fucking would.

She hid my child from me.

I stood so fast my chair slammed backward. My claws itched beneath my skin, and my wolf roared, the beast inside me snapping loose, howling for blood and answers.

She lied to me.

She let me live for five years thinking she was just a thorn in my side. But she was the mother of my child.

Lucas’s POVThere are two kinds of madness. The kind that sneaks in through the cracks. And the kind that kicks the door off its hinges and dares you to stop it.I didn’t sneak into Selina’s evening; I kicked the fucking door. The maître d’ was halfway through explaining that the restaurant was fully booked for private parties, but I didn’t hear him. My eyes were already locked on the far table near the back terrace.Candlelight. Wine. A soft jazz quartet playing in the background. The whole fucking scene straight out of a high-society fairy tale. And there she was. Selina. My Selina, dressed in black again, because she knew it made her look like sin incarnate. The silk of her dress clung to her body like it missed her skin when she moved. Her hair was pinned in that elegant twist that left the sharp edge of her jawline exposed. Her lips were red. That same red she used to leave smeared on my neck. And across from her sat the man. Fucking Jonathan Ward. A human. Clean-cut. Fucking smi

  • Alpha’s Dark Redemption    The Bond Frays

Lucas’s POVThere’s a point in the hunt when the predator starts to wonder if he’s the one being hunted. That moment crept in like smoke—unnoticed at first, just a scent, a shift in the wind. But now, it was undeniable.Selina was no longer just avoiding me. She was outpacing me.Every step I took toward her, she took two steps ahead. Every move I made to tighten the noose, she slipped out of with precision. Not just reaction—but anticipation. She wasn’t running from me. She was toying with me, and it was driving me fucking insane.I hadn’t slept in forty hours. Not because I couldn’t, but because I wouldn’t.I didn’t deserve rest until I cracked her open—peeled her back layer by layer until the truth spilled out like blood.Until she said it out loud. That Damon was mine, and that she was still mine. But the longer she stayed silent, the more the bond pulsed with something I couldn’t name. Something cold. Something's wrong. My wolf was restless. Agitated.Agitated with me.He didn’t

  • Alpha’s Dark Redemption    He wants blood

Selina’s POVIt started with the flowers. Three white calla lilies. Sitting quietly in a crystal vase on my office table. There was no note, no delivery receipt, and no receptionist confirming anything had arrived. They were just there.I stared at them like they were something alive, something waiting to bloom and bite. Clean. Elegant. Precise. The kind of gesture designed to make you question your own memory. Had you ordered them and forgotten? Had someone slipped past your security and made a fool of you?Or worse… was it a message? My stomach twisted as I stepped closer, heels silent against the Italian marble floors. I didn’t need to touch them to know they were real.I’d smelled this exact arrangement before.Five fucking years ago. In his bedroom. Before everything burned.“Vera,” I said, tapping the button on the intercom. “Did you authorize any deliveries this morning?”Her voice came through calm and composed, as always. “No, Miss Carter. You specifically requested no contac

Lucas’s POVShe’s lying. She’s lying and I know it with every cell in my body. Every instinct honed by blood, war, and the weight of the Blackwood name tells me the child is mine. But she looked me in the eye and said he wasn’t. And worse—she said she met someone else. She is fucking giving my pussy to someone else. Well, I know i don't deserve that pussy but it's mine! Mine to fuck, mine to torment, mine! Fucking mine!I haven’t slept since she told me she met someone else.Three nights, no rest. Just pacing, planning, and blood boiling in my veins. My wolf is unstable, snarling beneath the surface like it’s seconds from snapping free. I’ve had to cancel meetings, ignore pack requests, snap at board members just to keep from tearing this city apart.Because she stood there—calm, poised, cruel—and denied me and fucking told me my pussy is being fucked by someone else. And now? Now I’m done playing fair. The monitors lit up inside my private surveillance room. Four screens. Four differ

  • Alpha’s Dark Redemption    Is he mine?

Selina’s POVThe first rule of survival: Always stay two moves ahead.I’d lived by that rule since the day Lucas Blackwood shattered me. It’s what built my empire, kept my son safe, and gave me the armor I wore every time I stepped into a room filled with wolves dressed like men.But tonight… something in my gut shifted. The way he looked at me. The heat in his voice. The possessiveness burning just under the surface of that arrogant, alpha smirk. It wasn’t just about power anymore. He was hunting me. And worse—he’d finally sniffed out something worth killing for.I stood in Damon’s bedroom, leaning against the doorframe as he played with his building blocks, humming some offbeat tune he probably made up on the spot. His dark hair flopped into his eyes, and he scrunched his nose the way Lucas used to when he was focused.I hated that he looked like his father. Hated how much I loved it too.“Mom?” Damon turned toward me with a wide, cheeky grin. “Do you want to see what I built? It’s

  • Alpha’s Dark Redemption    You are not important

Selina’s POVWalking into the ballroom felt like walking into the lair of a beast I’d spent years preparing to kill.Everything about the opulence around me screamed power and control. The crystal chandeliers, the polished marble floors, and the orchestra playing something sophisticated and soulless in the background. It was all so Lucas. Polished, arrogant, and reeking of privilege. But this time, I wasn’t here to beg for his love or even forgiveness. I was here to show him what true power looked like. And to take everything he held dear, piece by agonizing fucking piece.“Miss Carter.”Vera’s voice crackled through the earpiece hidden beneath the cascade of my dark hair. Her voice was calm and collected, but I could sense her underlying concern.“Yes?” I replied softly, my gaze sweeping the room, searching for the man who had once torn me apart.“Your presence has already caused quite a stir. The guests are buzzing, and the cameras are trained on you. Exactly as you requested.”“Goo

  • Alpha’s Dark Redemption    The Gala of War

Lucas’s POVThe ballroom was a shimmering display of wealth and influence, the kind of event where only the most powerful were allowed to flaunt their status. Crystal chandeliers dripped from the ceiling, their light spilling over the sea of tuxedos and designer gowns like liquid gold. The air reeked of perfume, money, and greed—my kind of environment. But even as I moved through the crowd, nodding to the business moguls and pack leaders desperate to gain my favor, my mind was elsewhere.Selina, my mate. She’d been quiet. Too quiet. I’d expected her to fire back the moment she received my invitation, whether with legal threats or outright defiance. But the silence was worse. It meant she was planning something.Something that would make her entrance all the more… memorable. My lips twisted into a grin as I took another sip of my scotch, the amber liquid burning its way down my throat. I wanted her to come tonight. Needed her to come. Because it had been too fucking long since I’d seen

But to me, I was just a woman who had nothing left to lose.Vera left my office after delivering Lucas’s “invitation,” her heels clicking briskly down the corridor like gunshots. I remained perfectly still, my hands folded on the glass surface of my desk as if keeping them there would somehow stop me from smashing the entire office apart.I knew this day would come. For the past five years, I’d prepared for it. Not just for the moment when Lucas Blackwood would realize I wasn’t some broken little girl lost in his shadow. No, I prepared for the moment when he would try to take back what he’d so brutally thrown away. And I’d built my empire with him in mind every step of the way.Carter & Co. hadn’t been born out of ambition. It had been born out of vengeance. Out of the blinding, soul-crushing rage of a woman abandoned and betrayed by the only man she’d ever truly loved. After I left the Bla
