Alpha Rayne stood at the head, her arms folded tightly across her chest, her gaze fixed on Garran.

She blinked, straightening. “A visitor? Who?”

He shifted awkwardly. “He says his name is Jace Moren.”

The world stilled.

Rayne’s entire frame tensed. The name felt like a scar reopened. Memories she’d worked years to bury came rushing back—of stolen moments in candle-lit dorm rooms, whispered dreams of freedom and leadership, a promise made under the moon… and a betrayal that had nearly destroyed her.

“No,” she said flatly. “Tell him to leave.”

Garran hesitated. “Alpha… he looks half-dead. Starved, bruised. He came alone. He’s not armed.”

Rayne’s eyes narrowed. “He still betrayed me.”

“I know,” Garran said quietly. “But… you might want to see this for yourself.”

Rayne waited in the war room, her arms folded, her face carved from stone. The tall double doors creaked open, and Jace Moren stepped into the room.

He looked nothing like the boy she'd once trusted with her life.

At the Eastern highlands that evening, Lucian stood alone on the cliffs, watching the sun sink behind the mountain range. His thoughts were in turmoil. Was his love for Rayne worth more than his position as Alpha? What if he losed everything and still doesn't end up with Rayne?A she-wolf being Alpha was already more than enough drama she was dealing with, and still not fully accepted for.How much more then, an Alpha, mating another Alpha? That would be pushing their luck too far.Seraphine joined him silently. Her gown flowed like shadow, and her eyes glimmered with something between sorrow and fury.“You told the council.”“I did.”She let the silence drag.“And what did they say?”“They told me the risks involved.”Seraphine sighed, a cold, sharp sound. “Do you know what severing a bond does to a wolf, Lucian? To the soul? I don’t want to die for a love I never got to feel.”Lucian turned to her, his face grave. “Then don’t fight me. Let it be clean. Mutual. No blood.”She stepped

The fire in the council chamber crackled softly, but Lucian Wolfe felt none of its warmth. He stood in the circle of high-backed chairs, facing the oldest Alphas of the region—men who had shaped werewolf law for centuries. His hands were clenched at his sides, but his voice was steady.“I want to sever the bond with Seraphine.”The words echoed like thunder in the chamber.Alpha Garrick of the West Ridge was the first to react, rising slowly from his seat. His beard was streaked with silver, his eyes sharp with the weight of decades. “Do you understand what you're asking, Lucian Wolfe?”Lucian met his gaze. “Yes. And I wouldn’t be here if I hadn’t thought it through.”Alpha Marcel, frowned deeply. “This is not some adolescent mating you wish to discard. You were joined before the Moon Temple. The bond was sealed by blood and spirit. Breaking it now—it could kill you both.”“I know the risks,” Lucian replied tightly. “But Seraphine and I were never true mates. We were a political arran

  • Alpha's Hidden Luna   Chapter Seventy Three: The Wolfe's Heart

The morning was gray and overcast in the Eastern Highlands—clouds hanging low over the cliffs like a warning. The wind howled through the windows of the Alpha’s private quarters in the Wolfe estate, yet inside, the silence was even more deafening.Lucian stood at the edge of his bedroom, facing the balcony that overlooked his sprawling territory. His hands were clenched at his sides, his jaw tight as the storm within him mirrored the one brewing outside. He had made up his mind. The bond between him and Seraphine had to be severed. It was the final chain.A chain forged by duty, not love. And maybe... just maybe, Rayne could consider giving their relationship a chance.A knock sounded—soft, almost hesitant—before the door creaked open.Seraphine entered with practiced grace, wrapped in a deep violet robe that clung to her figure. Her long blonde hair cascaded over her shoulders like a river of gold. She looked effortlessly perfect, regal even—but Lucian barely turned to acknowledge he

In a smoky underground tavern carved into the side of a jagged ridge, the air reeked of sweat, blood, and spiced liquor. A fight had just ended—judging by the broken table and the blood on the walls—and the victor now sat in the corner booth, flanked by his men and nursing a cut across his cheek like a war medal.Xavier leaned back into the cracked leather seat, golden eyes gleaming in the dim light as he lit a cigar. His knuckles were bruised, his jaw tense. Beside him, Kade his best friend and right hand man, poured whiskey into two chipped glasses, his expression unreadable.A scout burst into the tavern, breathless, eyes wide.“You’re not going to believe what I just heard.”Xavier didn’t flinch. “Try me.”The scout licked his lips. “Valen territory has a new Alpha. Rayne Valen.”The silence that followed was thunderous.Xavier’s cigar slipped between his fingers and fell to the floor. He didn’t notice.Kade sat up straighter. “That’s impossible. She was banished.”“Banished, yes,

Alpha Lucian Wolfe dismounted his stallion at the base of the great steps of the Eastern highlands, the wind tearing at his cloak. His men stood at attention, silent, their faces unreadable as the Alpha returned from his unauthorized absence. He had left for the Valen territory without council approval. Without Seraphine's consent. And now, he returned bearing truths that would change everything. He still had a bitter-sweet taste feeling from his visit. Rayne had referred to their relationship as a curse, and there was no certainty things would work out between them, but he was ready to give it a fair shot. And the first and most important step is...severing his bond with Seraphine.Lucian pushed through the arched doors of the main hall, his presence commanding as he strode past the guards and servants. His Beta, waited at the top of the steps—his expression tense.“They’ve been waiting, Alpha. The Elders… your Luna too.”Lucian gave a nod. “Let them wait no more.”He entered the Hig
