Chapter Thirteen

Airen's POV

I don't know why I agreed to stay in his room, and more specifically, his bed other than I knew I had a choice.

All day the feeling of being trapped had followed me like a dark cloud. Fear and the invisible pressure of becoming a werewolf's mate became heavier and heavier throughout the day. And not just any werewolf's mate, but an Alpha's mate and one of the world's most feared Alpha's at that.

Past experiences made me fearful of commitment and long for freedom. The feeling of being trapped or tied down to someone other than myself or my family always made me skittish and usually at the first sign of anything becoming permanent I run. I had a feeling though, that running in this case would not work.

Despite the growing fear and pressure on my chest, I had some of the best sleep of my life that night. At least, until I got sick.
