Daniel's POV

After completing my work which I had been pending for the last two days, I went into Aunt's room to check on her, and I smelt tears and pain. I was right about that; the MATE topic was still sensitive to her. That day she didn't just lose her mate but also her wolf.

And all because of me.

I went toward her and sat beside her. Her pillow was wet because of her tears, and a few of the tear droplets were dried on her face.

"I'm so sorry, Aunt." I apologized and then covered her with a blanket. No matter how much others could convince me but a part of me would always feel guilty. I wished I would have listened to the dad that day. I didn't realize that tears rolled down from my own eyes until Angel wiped them.

How the hell did I not realize her presence?
