Chapter 3

DOMINIC CHOGRATTA THORGHA.

“Boss” Arturo saunters into my study. He is my right hand man and my most trusted person in my line of work. I do work so dangerous so I don’t keep a lot of friends, just a few from my line or work and of course, Leonardo, the man who duped me and ran off with millions of dollars and ended up offering his mute daughter as settlement for what he owes.

Killing him is definitely not enough for me, I want to bring him back to life and watch him suffer time and again. How dare he think he can double cross me? I am going to make sure his daughter pays every last cent he owes me.

She is beautiful I must say, eyes that look like the sun and an overall gentle demeanor. Compared to me, she looks small but she is a fucking adult. Her beautiful skin shows how much she doesn’t relate with the outside world. Daddy’s caged princess. Everything would have been perfect if she could get her words out but the moon goddess chose to give her everything else except a voice. I had to hire a sign language interpreter a day before today and seeing the happy look on her face when Amari communicated with her, a feeling of fulfillment swells in my heart. I am not going to let her sit around doing nothing, she will work to pay for her father owed me or I will send her to them.

“Boss” Arturo calls out again and I jolt out of my thoughts.

“We have brought Antonio in” he says, “we found him wasting away in a clubhouse downtown”

“That bastard” I grit my teeth in anger. He steals my money and goes gallivanting around. I think I have become too lenient with them and they now take me for granted.

Pulling out my drawer, I pick up my golden retriever before pulling my body off the chair.

As soon as I step out of the inhouse elevator, I see Amari walking around and she bows immediately when she sees me.

“Where is Greece?”

“She fell asleep a few minutes ago, sir” she responds.

“Bring her to me as soon as she wakes up, “I do not bring her here to sleep” I don’t wait for her response before walking away.

By the time I enter where Antonio is being held, he has already been beaten to a pulp with his entire body covered in blood and bruises. This is little compared to what I am going to do to him. Stealing from me and partying with my money in the same place is not very gentlemanly of him.

“Boss” he immediately starts to grumble as soon as he sees me, “please, I am going to return every last penny to you”

“Of course you will, Antonio” I tell him, “you will return every last cent to me”

“Please” tears wells up in his eyes, “do not kill me please”

“How about we take him to the pack house and allow other wolves to have a field day with him?” My wolf suggests but I ignore it, he really is a psychopath.

I lower myself on the chair that has been placed in front of him, my eyes traveling around him for a split second.

“Where is my money, Antonio?”

“Boss,” he continues to cry, “please, I will have your money ready before the end of the week. I had invested in something and I haven’t gotten the returns yet”

“You invested in something but you are clubbing in a whorehouse in my city?” A scoff leaves my mouth, I have truly become generous. Without saying anything again, I immediately cock my gun, pointing it to his head.

“I don’t bother about killing you, Antonio” I tell him, “I will kill you and your dead body will cough up my money, you understand that?”

“Please boss”

The door to the room opens up and a familiar figure saunters in…Fernando, my fucking twin brother.

“You just got back from Milan and you are already holding a gun to someone’s head?” His voice resonates in the room, his voice laced with sarcasm.

I clench my jaw together trying to keep myself from blowing up his brains.

“If you had done your fucking job, would I be here?” I growl in anger.

“Woah!! Chill man” he says, “I was looking for him too, I didn’t know this asshole was in town”

“And now you found him” I pull my body off the chair, “if he doesn’t cough up that money before the end of today, blow his fucking brains out and make sure to send it to his wife”

“You are a disgusting man, Antonio” Fernando blurts, “going to a whorehouse when you have a wife”

“Please, boss”

But I have already walked out of the room. I won’t hesitate to kill him and he knows that, he is lucky I let my twin brother handle him.

Fernando and I got introduced into this life at an early age and behind born into one of the most powerful wolf clans, father thought we had an edge over everyone else and he was right..no one messes with either of us and goes scot free. I am sure Leonardo has experienced that first hand.

“Sir” Gracie, my fifty eight year old housekeeper walks up to me as I walk into the spacious living room. She has been working for us ever since I was seven and you can say she practically raised Fernando and I.

“your afternoon tea is ready sir”

“Have it brought to my study” I tell her, “and also tell bring Amari and the other lady to me”

“It is there already”

I take the elevator to the third floor where my study is and the tea has already been placed on my table. I trust Gracie to always do a good job when it comes to me.

A few minutes after I have settled down, a knock resonates on the door.

“You can come in”

The door opens up and Gracie enters, followed by Amari and Greece.

“I have brought them sir”

“Thank you, Gracie”

My eyes travel to the mute lady and I see a scowl on her face. More like a death glare, she will put a fucking bullet to my head now if you hand her a gun.

“And yes, I won’t be having dinner at home tonight. I have an important meeting”

“Yes sir”

After a bow, she makes her way out leaving me with the others.

“Sir” Amari bows lightly but Greece continues to stand, her attention fixated on me.

“I believe you have gotten accustomed to the house?” I ask the two of them and Amari nods, while the other continues to stare, her frown deepening by the minute.

Then I watch her touch Amari by the shoulder before signing something to her. This is interesting, now I can’t help but wonder how long it took for her to learn sign language.

“I don’t think…” Amari tries to speak to her but I cut them off.

“What did she say?” I ask.

“Sir, you don’t…

“I asked you a question”

She fidgets for a second, her eyes darting across the two of us.

“I asked you a question, I hate someone keeping me waiting”

“She said I should ask you if you actually killed her people?”

My attention returns to her, my jaw clenching together.

“Rodrigo tells me you were there when your house went up in flames, no?”

She signs to Amari again.

“She is asking if they are truly dead”

“Do you think you are worth something for me to lie to you?” Anger washes over me as I stood up, “who do you think you are?”

Greece signs again and Amari lets out a sigh.

“What did she say?”

“She called you a bastard and she hopes you get hit by a bus and die”

“What?” The frown on my face deepens as I cover the space between us again. I grab a hold of her hand and yank her closer.

“You do not get to make a prayer on my behalf, Greece” I growl in anger, “your father lied to me, stole from me and I am the one who should be hit down by a bus? You are lucky I kept you alive, I would have killed you too. Now listen and listen good, if you dare to flaunt my orders, I will not hesitate to send you to them, do you understand me? You will live under this roof and you will do as I say, doing everything to make sure you clear your father’s debt and mind you..one slip up from you and you are dead, okay?”

I let go of her hand and she almost falls down but she is fast to steady her balance.

“How dare you” I mutter under my breath. Even though she looked fragile, she is still getting on my fucking nerves.

The door opens up and Fernando saunters in, a look of amusement in his eyes the moment he sees her.

“I heard you brought a mute home, brother” he says, his eyes still on Greece, then I watch him sign and she signs back to him.

Fernando knows sign language? Since when? This is a first. The thought of it makes my anger skyrocket.

“And since when do you know sign language?” I ask him, picking up my tea.

“Don’t you know?” He asks, walking towards me, “I volunteer at an institute for the deaf and dumb”

Fernando and his weird hubbies.

“And why didn’t I know that ever since?”

“Because you didn’t fucking care?” He raises an eyebrow at me.

“You may leave” I gesture to Amari and she bows before pulling Greece along with her.

“So what do you plan on doing with her now?” Fernando asks the moment they are out of earshot.

“Make her work till she pays everything her father owes”

“What can a mute possibly achieve for you, man?”

“Why? Do you feel sorry for her!”

“Of course not, her father was an asshole”

“Good, now let’s get to work”

“Fine” he rolls his eyes again, “I am still skeptical about her”

“I brought her here, I will take care of her”

I return my attention to the laptop in front of me.

“And don’t you fucking use sign language in front of me again” I tell him, “or I will kill you first before I kill her”
