Aurelia’s POV

The cold metal bars of Selena’s cell reflected the dim light of the corridor, casting sharp, ominous shadows across the floor. I paused for a moment outside, letting my hands brush over the envelope in my coat pocket.

I pushed the door open slowly, my boots making a soft echo on the stone floor. Selena’s head snapped up the moment I entered, her eyes wide with the kind of fury that made my pulse race, eye with someone who had always underestimated me.

“You finally decided to show your face,” Selena said, her voice dripping with venom.

I took a slow step forward, letting her gaze follow me, unflinching. “I know you’re impatient,” I said softly, leaning just enough to make her hear every word. “I know you can’t wait to get out of here and do… whatever you’ve been plotting. But I’ll be waiting. Don’t you forget that.”
