ELARA

I scurry out of his office, frantically searching for my children. It feels as though he brought me back here just to exact revenge. As I hurry through the hallways, calling their names in desperation and opening door after door, the people I pass glare at me with contempt. In this pack, traitors are never taken lightly. They’re not just scorned individually—their families are shunned right along with them.

These people don’t know the truth. They only believe what their Alpha has told them. I have to leave this place with my children because our presence here will only drain us psychologically—if not by Kieran, then by the pack members. I continue searching for Aria and Adrien, asking the maids for Evelyn as I move, but none of them answer me. Frustration pulls up my chest and rises up to my throat, choking me.

Suddenly, I bump into a small body, and I gasp.

“I am really sorry for—” I begin to say, but the remaining words get caught up in my throat when I see Vivianne standing i

ELARAI can feel the stream of sunlight warming my face, signaling that it is morning already. I slowly open my eyes, and when I don’t see my children, I jump up, my chest beating rapidly against my chest. I almost lost them yesterday, and I felt like my world was going to end. Oh, no. Not again. As I prepare to run out of the room in search of them, Kieran suddenly emerges from the bathroom, all wet and a white towel wrapped around his waist. “You said you weren’t going to come in here. My kids, where are they?” I ask in a panicky tone. “First off...” He raises a finger. “I said I wasn’t going to come in here yesterday. I never promised about today. And they are in school.” “In what?” My jaw drops in disbelief. “What? Don’t you want them to have an education? They are five, and they have never been to school. Is that right?” he says as he ventures further into the room and disappears into his walk-in closet. I had always dreamed of giving them a proper education. I couldn’t af

KIERANSince Elara and the kids are in my room, I walk down to Reid’s room, with him following right behind me. “What happened? Did you kill him?” he asks as I push the door to his room open and walk inside. “Yes. Ryder sent him. Thought they were my kids and ordered them to be killed,” I tell him as I pull off my shirt and walk into the bathroom to shower. “That motherfucker,” he grits out. “Wait, why are you showering in my bathroom when...” He trails off and exhales. “Ah... those minions and their mother are in your room.” “Fetch Vivianne for me. And get out of here,” I groan as I pull off my trousers and step into the shower. “Why? You don’t want me to watch you wash your...” He wiggles his brows freakishly, planting his hands on his waist. I grab a shampoo bottle and throw it at him. “Get out!” “Fine,” he huffs as he turns around and leaves the bathroom. I turn on the shower and the cold water washes down my body, cooling down the buildup of rage heating up within me. On

KIERANAfter Elara leaves with Reid and the kids, I lock the door shut and stroll back to the unconscious motherfucker on the floor. Grabbing him by his shirt, I drag him to one of the cubicles and dunk his face into the water closet. After a few seconds, he gasps loudly, and I yank him away, making him sit on the floor. His eyes widen when he sees me and he tries to run away, but I shove him back into the small space with me. “Who sent you?” I ask with a growl. “No one,” he coughs rapidly, clutching his chest. “Really?” I raise a brow as I reach for the pocketknife in my pocket and twirl it between my fingers. “If you don’t start talking, I’ll cut every finger on your hand with this.” Intense fear radiates through his eyes as he tries to move backward but only ends up hitting his back painfully. “I swear, I am telling the truth!” he shrieks. “Which finger do you want me to start with?” I raise a brow, my eyes dark. “The right pinkie finger, middle finger, or thumb?” In a swi

ELARAThe manager walks in and stops when he sees the barely conscious man on the floor, his eyes going wide. Then he turns to look at Kieran.“You found the kids. Can we open the store now?”“Yes,” Kieran groans without bothering to look at him.The twins try to look behind them to see the man, but I cover their eyes, pulling them even closer.Kieran crouches down, his gaze fixed on the guy on the floor. “Who are you? Who sent you?”“I—” He coughs out blood. “No one sent me. When I saw them, I figured they are your children with how much resemblance they hold with you. So, I kidnapped them so I could ask for ransom later.”Kieran lets out a loud growl as he punches him again. He gasps loudly at the impact, his eyes closing immediately.I look at Kieran, wide-eyed. “Is he dead?”He leans in to feel his pulse. “No. Not yet.”This is another reason why I must run away from him. Kieran will always be a danger to them. His enemies will try to get to him through them if he remains in clos

ELARA The impact of the blow sends Lucas staggering backward, holding his bleeding nose. Kieran moves to punch him again, but I am quick to stand in between them, holding my hands out. “Kieran, stop!” I yell. “He is the father, right? That is why you asked to use the restroom, so you could secretly see him!” he growls, his eyes flashing with fury. “He is not their father!” I retort, glaring at him. I look at Lucas over my shoulder. “Go. Run.” “He is not going anywhere,” Kieran growls as he tries to move past me, but I push him back with all the strength I have. “You will have to go through me to get to him,” I say as Lucas quickly dashes off. He stands there, his chest heaving heavily as he watches his retreating figure. “If he isn’t the father, then why are you protecting him?” “Because not everyone deserves to be hit because of your paranoia.” I pause, my eyes looking around for my kids. When I don’t see them, a hard frown creases my face. “Where are Aria and Adrien?” “At

ELARA This shopping is my opportunity to escape. A mall is the easiest place to lose someone, and if I’m lucky, he’ll miss us in the crowd. He leads us into a boutique, and we are ushered to the kiddies’ section, where we begin shopping for the twins. The kids are jumping all over, excited to be getting new clothes. It’s been so long since they had anything new. With how low my pay is, I’ve always had to choose between food or clothes—and food always wins.“I want this one!” Aria rushes over to a cute yellow dress that is covered in frills.“And it is yours,” Kieran chuckles as he picks it up and gives the attendant. My brows furrow at how kind he is to my children. What is he up to?“Adrien, what do you think about this one?” he asks him, pointing to a Spiderman-printed shirt.“He doesn’t like Spiderman. He prefers Batman,” Aria’s little voice sounds as she rummages through the dresses on the racks.“I never said I didn’t like Spiderman,” Adrien replies to her.She turns to look at
