61: Great start to the day!

Massimo’s confession blew my mind. A part of me wanted to tell him that the stranger whom he wanted to kill was none other than him, but then he might kill me for keeping him in the dark.

After having polenta, I slept for hours. The moment I woke up, it was already late at night. I left the bed and walked into the bathroom.

Lifting my gown, I checked my wound. It had been healed completely. I recalled how Massimo helped me change; it was more like he changed my clothes. But not once did he look at my body for more than a second.

I wouldn’t lie, but I was a little disappointed by that. In one moment, he acted like a possessive person by claiming me as his without my consent, and in the other, he behaved like a gentleman.

‘You good, Venus?’

‘Perfect,’

‘Dad, you’re awake?’ I mind-linked him but received no response. It looked like he was retired for the day. I left my room and went to check on both Nimo and Soleil. They were sleeping peacefully, with their father in the middle.
