LOGINSonya~
I dropped to my knees, my head lowered.
At that moment, one wouldn't even believe that I was Luna. At least, despite how much they all despised me, I had never knelt since I was crowned to rule the pack with him. But now, I looked like I didn't matter, not even my defensive words that they wanted to hear meant a thing to them.
Each of his steps forward caused a chill to run down my spine. I kept twisting my dress, my heart palpitating.
“Get the file!” I heard him command, and the footsteps came forward from behind me.
A brown file was dropped before me, so I managed to raise my head, and the words left my lips before I could get it together, "What's here, Alpha?”
“Take a look at the proof of your crime,” he said, crossing his arms against his chest.
My hands were shaking as I opened the file and began viewing the stuff in there. Photos, and then a Mcard.
“That Mcard contains the footage from the crime scene. If you can, insert it right now into your cell phone and confirm. You already saw the photos and how there's no other person there but you.”
I bit my lower lip, picked up one of the photos again and stared intently.
How did it happen? How come I was here and never knew?
I looked up to him, tears welling in my eyes. “This can't be me. You have to investigate thoroughly. Check out the time and date it happened, then confirm that I wasn't in the palace before it…
“Everything is already confirmed, Sonya. Stop getting on my nerves,” he said curtly, and my heart sank into my belly. “On that noon, you weren't in the palace, and your headmaid had confirmed it.”
Impossible! I needed to see for myself.
I quickly inserted the Mcard to my cell phone and was able to access the footage. Lo and behold, that was me who stabbed the woman from behind. The time and day rhymed with when I visited the pawn shop, so what was going on? How did I get there after being at the pawn shop without knowing?
‘We were impersonated, Sonya. That's not us, don't you think so?’ my wolf whimpered. ‘His father's Luna is dead, so are they going to execute us too?’
I shook my head, raised my face to meet Alpha Seth, still waiting to hear from me. “To be honest, I know nothing about this. I must have been in my office, and my headmaid wasn't aware. I haven't left the palace recently.”
He snorted, “You must think that I'm a joke…”
“Seriously, Alpha!”
“The palace surveillance shows that you left the palace.”
So I couldn't even hide that I went to the pawn shop? Nothing was doing me justice. What do I do now? I can't admit to this, nor can I mention being at the pawn shop.
“You can't seem to prove that you're innocent,” he said, and I pressed my lips together. “And that means you will face your penalty.”
“I was impersonated. This isn't me, and because you have never loved nor trusted me, you will never believe me. What else will I say for you to believe? You could have just overrode me like you always do instead of bringing me out and still not believing my defence.” I lashed out at him, and he stood frozen, staring at me with his gaze narrowed. “Someone did this, and I'm sure everything here was edited. You know how much I do not cooperate with the head luna, so why should I visit her when I have nothing to do with her? I am innocent, and I do not care if any of you here believes it or not.”
He said nothing more, just watching as hot tears streaked down my face, but there was still no mercy in his expression.
At least, if I was worth something to them all, especially him, I was supposed to be given time to prove my innocence if I were one, not just presenting all those to me and expecting me to believe them.
His lips moved, but the creaking sound of the door caused him to shut it, and then I turned to see my father-in-law walking closer and his face drained of blood.
“What are you still waiting for to have this wench imprisoned?” the man yelled before he even got closer. “She murdered my wife, and you're hesitating?”
Seth said nothing. Rather, he walked back to his throne.
Alpha Deacon turned to me, “You daughter of a bastard…!”
A lump rose to my throat.
“After all the love I showed you? Is this how you pay it back?” his voice cracked midway, and he gasped for air. “I will never forgive you, Sonya. You will pass through worse than my luna.”
Tears streamed down my face amid my clenched teeth. He was indeed the only one who showed me a little love and made me feel comfortable around him. Now would he believe that I didn't do it when he could snap me to death?
I wanted to speak, to try telling him how I was innocent, to beg for time to back up my words, but my lips were so heavy to move, and my wolf had crawled back into my mind, whimpering.
When he couldn't stand the sight of me again, he turned to Seth, “What are you still waiting for? Ain't those proofs enough to make you act? Or do you think the pack will want to have a murderer as their Luna?”
“I will take over from here, Alpha Deacon,” the Minister of Justice said, and the man nodded, shot me his last glare before backing out of the room.
The Minister of Justice walked forward and bowed before Seth, then he turned to me. “Luna,” he started, his palms slid into the pockets of his trousers. “...regardless of whoever it was, but the penalty for murder is execution amid torture. That being said, you will have to be imprisoned and tortured until death takes you. The alpha king will agree or amend this code.”
“Nothing more to amend. The guards should take her out.”
My eyes shifted to Seth instantly, my heart wavering.
This couldn't be happening. I was going to pay for a crime I didn't commit? Is this his way of getting me out of his life so he could have a good life with his mistress?
Not good! It was never good!
Seth couldn't do this to me. We were mates, so at least he should consider it.
As he was about to walk past me, I held onto his leg, yet no word came out of my lips, no matter how much I tried.
He kicked me hard and roared at me, “You brought this upon yourself…”
I shook my head, panting as tears gathered and ran down my face continuously.
“Throw her into the dungeon!” he commanded and continued leaving while I knelt there with my chest about to burst in pain.
This was too much for me to bear.
My pup!
If I told him I was bearing our pup, would he give me a chance?
Sonya~I was now without my wolf. The priestess had been brought in as Alpha Dax assured me, and my wolf was sealed off, so I was almost like a human, no creature to chat with, no extraordinary abilities from my inner creature. At this moment, I was weak. It was now left to me to shield my unborn pup, because my wolf, who always did that, was like in a cage and wouldn't function again until she was released. She begged me not to do this. I cried so much more than I thought. I pleaded that she understand, unless she wanted us taken back to our pack by our mate. Sealing her off was the only option, and I hoped she understood me and did not hate me at the time I would free her. On the fourth day since Alpha Seth arrived, I became worried. Was he still feeling the bond? I didn't expect him to be in this pack now after I sealed off my wolf. He was supposed to be going back to his pack already, so I could go back to being myself. I was tired of staying indoors, and the headmaid had told
Sonya ~Alpha Seth was in this palace? I turned to the headmaid and asked her, “Do you have any idea why that Alpha is in this palace?” but she shook her head. “Let's get back to my bedroom, please.”She looked stunned by my words, how I suddenly changed my mind. I, too, didn't like it, but staying out here was damn risky for me; it would make it easier for him to track my scent and find me here, because my instinct already told me he was here for me, not for business reasons. The headmaid led the way back to the building, and I locked up the door. Anxiety overwhelmed me, and I leaned my back on the wall, my palms on my belly. If Alpha Dax would show up, then he was the one who could share with me what brought Seth and his new woman in here. Could he have crowned her Luna already since I was out of his life? Then if that was the case, his presence here wouldn't be about me.“Take some chilled water and calm down,” the headmaid said, snapping me back to reality and handing over a gl
Alpha Seth~A day before…Nicolas knocked just once and walked into my office. As I raised my head, my dad followed in as well. “Alpha, your father is here to see you.”“I didn't need to be announced,” my dad retorted and nudged Nicolas out of his way. He walked to my table, and I stood up and bowed to him. “Is that for me?”“Why are you here?” I asked him, keeping my tone down. He had been getting on my nerves these past days, and I was doing a lot to ignore him because I had a lot to tackle. He exhaled, tapping his fingers on my desk. “I hate that you feign respect for me when it's truly fake, Seth. Did you forget that I am your father who handed this throne and pack over to you?”I shook my head gently. “Why would I forget? You're still the head alpha of this pack.”“Then why do you always look down on me? Several times, I wanted an audience with you, and you ignored me. Does that show that you still regard me?”For the goddess's sake, I hated that he was beating around the bush.
Sonya~“There are alternatives, like an alpha sharing their energy with you, even though it wouldn't be as effective as that of your mate.” The healer finally answered after seconds of silence between us.I bit the side of my lower lip and nodded. “I'll talk to Alpha Dax for his help.”“I'll talk to him too, because you need it so much,” she said and prescribed some medications for me, which would be obtained from a pharmacy; then she left the room to meet with the headmaid who had been waiting in the corridor.I had known that my mate's energy would be more effective, but at least I got an option. I hoped that Alpha Dax wouldn't refuse to help me out this time; he's done a lot for me, and I was so grateful. Three hours later, when Alpha Dax returned, he brought up the issue with my health, and that the healer had called him to explain. “Lie on the bed so I can do it,” he said, with no hesitation at first, and I also didn't waste time, in fear that he could change his mind. It laste
Sonya~I had dinner, freshened up and was drying my hair when I began hearing the loud voices of two people in the corridor. The female voice was rising at each of her words, as though they were arguing, and since I had heard the voice of the chef and headmaid, I was sure it didn't belong to them. The argument continued until I was done drying my hair, so I dropped the dryer, which was among the things Alpha Dax got for me. I reached for the door, curious to know what was happening in my corridor at this time of the night. “You saved her life, and so what? How can you just bring into your palace a stranger without a background? It wasn't so hard for you, but it is when it comes to listening to me and treating me as your woman. Each time you give me excuses about how busy you are.” The woman's voice rang out in an echo. “There's the pack house where you can keep her. You knew this, but because there's something between you two, it's never a good option.”An alpha growl made my heart l
Alpha Dax~She would be shocked once I asked who she was, and in a few seconds, become composed again. That was a great sign I didn't need to ignore, but I also didn't want to freak her out, so I was trying to be calm. The symbol on the assassins’ body was truly from Seth's shadow guards. If he sent them after her, then what could be their relationship? In addition to her mentioning that she wanted to lie low, I bet she was hiding something from me. When I noticed her lips moving, I narrowed my gaze. “But I already answered that back at the hospital. Don't you believe me?”She could have said the truth, but there was still something hidden which she didn't want to reveal. “Who's the father of the pup you're bearing? Your mate? Is he dead? Did he reject you?” I bombarded and she kept shaking her head. “Which exactly has the shaking of the head?”She looked me in the eyes, one thing no one in this pack has ever done. For an omega, how could she have such might even though she still a
