LOGINValeria POV
It’s been a few weeks since I arrived here weeks of torture, weeks of being drained. I couldn’t blame it on anything but fate. I was destined to die mateless. Yet thoughts kept flooding my mind. Could I escape this place? Maybe, if I attacked, I could run back to my family’s house. Maybe my father would accept me. But then I remembered how they sent me off to this ruthless tyrant. I could only sigh, frustrated, and accept my fate.
A knock on the door jolted me from my thoughts.
“Come in,” I muttered, throwing myself onto the bed.
A masculine voice echoed into my ears, and I quickly sat up. A guard stood before me.
“My lady, Alpha Sebastian requests your presence in the throne room,” he muttered.
I froze. Why would Alpha Sebastian request me there? The only times he ever wanted to see me were in his bed and afterward, he pushed me out like nothing.
I forced a smile, nodded. “Give me a few minutes,” I whispered. He bowed and left. Instantly, I rose, adjusted my dress, and slowly opened the door. The guard straightened, pointing toward the hallway.
“No. Please, lead the way.”
He bowed again, then walked ahead. I trailed behind him, my heart racing with every step. Was Alpha Sebastian granting me freedom? Or was he about to parade me before the council of elders as a trophy?
We reached the throne room. The guard knocked. The door opened. Someone inside motioned me in. My stomach tightened. I had carried pain in my heart so long, I thought nothing could hurt more. Yet as I stepped inside, I froze.
My father. My mother. Standing at the corner of the courtroom.
For a heartbeat, hope flared, maybe they could explain why they were here. But they didn’t spare me a glance. They turned their eyes away.
“Perfect timing.”Alpha Sebastian’s cold voice echoed. My gaze snapped to him. Then I saw her.
Helen. My sister. Kneeling on the floor, tears streaming down her face.
“Sister…” I muttered in worry, rushing toward her. But her next words caught me off guard.
“Don’t come any closer, you traitor!” she yelled.
I froze, confused. What was she talking about? Last time I checked, she said she was going to pick flowers from the garden and never returned. She disappeared before my wedding, and now suddenly, she shows up, calling me a traitor.
“Sis, what are you talking abou-”
Before I could finish, a hot slap landed on my cheek. My head snapped in the direction of the blow. My mother stood there, eyes blazing with hatred and rage.
“How could you do this to your sister? It’s not her fault you couldn’t get a mate after four rejections. But stealing your sister’s mate? You crossed the line, Helen!” my mother shrieked, pointing at me.
I couldn’t understand. It felt like I was hallucinating.
“Mama, what’s going on? You told me to take Helen’s place because she disappeared I…I…”
Another slap cut my words short. My lips trembled, but no sound came out. Everything felt like a cruel game. What was happening?
“How dare you lie?!” my mother shrieked, ripping my dress from my shoulder. She forced me to face Sebastian, exposing the skin where no mark showed.
My mind spiraled. Why was she calling me by a name that wasn’t mine?and my mark, my mother had always warned me never to expose it. Said it was the sign of a curse. So I had always kept it hidden.
“Yes, Alpha Sebastian,” my sister’s voice rang out, trembling with tears, “she pretended to be me. Valeria. I’m Valeria, and she’s Helen. This is my birthmark. I’m your true mate.”
She ripped her dress from her shoulder, exposing a moon-shaped mark. Gasps filled the room.
I shook my head in disbelief, desperate to speak. My eyes darted to my father. But he turned away.
“Papa, say something!” I screamed, my voice breaking as tears streamed down my face. This was all a setup. My father didn’t speak. He only lowered his gaze to the ground. And in that silence, I realized the truth,I was utterly alone, My family had betrayed me. They had traded me for their lust for power, for the throne.Alpha Sebastian’s voice thundered across the room.
“Is this true, Beta Edward?” His gaze never left mine, a cruel smirk tugging at his lips. He had always hated me and hated me so much he never once bothered to ask my name. I knew he could kill me without a blink.
“Yes, my lord. My wife speaks nothing but the truth. I never thought my daughter Helen would do this to us.”My father’s words shattered the last flicker of hope inside me. I tried to speak, to defend myself, but before I could, Alpha Sebastian rose.
The court followed, standing in his shadow as he descended from his throne with calculated grace. He extended a hand not to me, but to my sister lifting her gently to her feet. Then his eyes met mine. Something cold, something indescribable burned within them.
“You will be executed by nightfall.”
His voice rolled through the courtroom like thunder. My body trembled, my tears unending. My fate was sealed, Rejected four times, Mateless, Betrayed by my own blood,To die at the hands of a merciless tyrant.
Just when despair consumed me, my sister’s voice sliced the air.
“My lord, perhaps you should reconsider. I’ll be needing many slaves to serve me. Add her to them. Let her work under me.”
My knees gave way, and I collapsed, sobbing as the weight of her cruelty pressed into me. Through the blur of tears, I saw her face, radiant with triumph. My parents tried, and failed, to contain their joy.
I wiped my eyes slowly. I stared at them all my smiling sister, my silent father, my treacherous mother. And in that moment, I swore one thing. This was not the end.My revenge would come.
Valerie POVEverything Sebastian just said didn’t make sense to me. I slowly turned my gaze toward the physician, hoping he would deny it, hoping he would say Sebastian was wrong. But instead, he gave me a quiet, reassuring nod, confirming the terrible truth the child was no more. For a moment, everything around me froze,The room suddenly felt too silent, too empty. When I watched Sebastian walk out of the room, I felt my heart shatter into pieces. Slowly, I placed my trembling hand on my stomach, trying to feel the baby kick one more time.I waited,Seconds passed,Then minutes,But nothing happened.I slowly shut my eyes as tears began to fall uncontrollably from them. My chest tightened, and it felt as though the air around me had suddenly become too heavy to breathe. Just then, Sarah walked into the room. Without saying anything, she rushed toward me and pulled me into a tight hug.“Just let it out, Valeria… don’t hold it in,” she whispered softly. “Don’t hold back the tears. The baby
Helen POVIt was a beautiful scene to behold. As I watched Valerie writhing on the ground in pain, every part of me leaped with joy. I could hardly contain my happiness. Standing at a distance, I watched everything unfold right before my eyes, and satisfaction spread through me like wildfire. I was glad that Mary didn’t have to come back to give me the news. Instead, I had witnessed everything myself.Slowly, I turned my gaze toward my mother. For a brief moment, our eyes met across the room. We exchanged a knowing glance, one that spoke louder than words. Then we both turned away as though nothing had happened. But we both knew the truth. It was a mission accomplished.I had finally achieved what I had always wanted.I returned to my chambers, waiting patiently for Mary to bring the final news of how everything ended. All I wanted to hear was the news of Valerie’s demise, her death would mean that I had finally succeeded in taking back my rightful place. But when Mary later broke the ne
Alpha Sebastian’s POVIt was supposed to be a memorable night, a night where I would finally bare my heart to Valeria. A night where I would confess everything I had buried inside me and pray that, for once, she would choose me. I had hoped, deep down, that she would accept me.Instead, the night turned into a nightmare. The image of blood dripping down her leg was one I knew would haunt me for the rest of my life. For a brief moment, I froze. My body refused to move, my mind refusing to process what my eyes were seeing. Then something inside me snapped.I rushed forward just as her body gave way, catching her before she hit the ground. Panic wrapped around my chest like iron chains as I carried her back to her chambers, shouting orders along the way. By the time we arrived, the physician was already waiting. The moment he lifted his head after examining her, I knew, Whatever he was about to say would destroy me.“My lord…” he paused, his voice unsteady as his eyes darted around the r
Valerie POVAnd then Alpha Sebastian turned his gaze toward me. He walked slowly, deliberately, and I narrowed my eyes on him,Something about the way he moved made my heart skip a beat, but also set my nerves on edge. Was he trying to humiliate me in front of everyone? Was this some grand trick? My mind raced, but before I could react, he gently took my hands in his, his touch warm and steady. His eyes locked on mine, deep and unwavering, and he spoke.“I want to ask you this in front of everyone here,” he said, his voice low yet carrying across the hall. “Please, Valeria… will you be my Luna again? This time, let’s make it official… with a proper ground wedding after the child is born.”For a moment, I froze. My mouth opened, but no words came out. My eyes swept over the crowd, and I could feel every gaze on me, full of anticipation. I wanted to speak, to say something, but every word seemed trapped, lodged somewhere in my throat. Then, a sharp, stabbing pain shot through my lower ab
Valerie POVI lay quietly on my bed, staring into space, my mind replaying everything that had happened to me. Every betrayal. Every lie. Every pain I had endured. My heart burned as I thought about revenge, how perfectly I would carry it out. I wanted them to feel exactly what I had felt. Slowly. Deeply. I wanted the weight of it to crush them, not just me. I didn’t want a quick end. I wanted suffering that everyone around would witness.Just then, the door opened softly, pulling me from my thoughts. Sarah walked in, fully dressed, looking excited, a box clutched carefully in her hands.“Don’t tell me you’re not going for the banquet tonight,” she muttered.“Everything was prepared for you, Valerie.”She gently placed the box on the bed and stood in front of me, staring as if waiting for an answer. I didn’t know what to say at that moment. Slowly, I rose from the bed, took a deep breath, and my gaze drifted back to the box.“I don’t plan to attend, Sarah,” I said quietly. “Why should I
Alpha Sebastian’s POVEver since Valeria returned to the mansion, I had done my best to make sure everything she needed was provided for. Whatever she asked for, no matter how small or how big, I made sure it was granted. Tonight, at the ball, I wanted to show her just how much I cared about her and how much I had changed. I wanted her to see that I was no longer the man who had once hurt her.Despite all my efforts to get closer to her, she had constantly avoided me. She barely met my eyes, and whenever I tried to start a conversation, she found a way to excuse herself. It hurt more than I cared to admit, but I understood why she was acting that way. Still, two nights ago had been different. That night, I finally saw a different side of Valeria. I watched how she handled Helen when she tried to use her usual manipulative tricks. Valeria stood her ground with such quiet strength, and in that moment, I felt something shift inside me. As our eyes met, I could sense that she was trying t
