MasukValeria POV
It’s been a few weeks since I arrived here weeks of torture, weeks of being drained. I couldn’t blame it on anything but fate. I was destined to die mateless. Yet thoughts kept flooding my mind. Could I escape this place? Maybe, if I attacked, I could run back to my family’s house. Maybe my father would accept me. But then I remembered how they sent me off to this ruthless tyrant. I could only sigh, frustrated, and accept my fate.
A knock on the door jolted me from my thoughts.
“Come in,” I muttered, throwing myself onto the bed.
A masculine voice echoed into my ears, and I quickly sat up. A guard stood before me.
“My lady, Alpha Sebastian requests your presence in the throne room,” he muttered.
I froze. Why would Alpha Sebastian request me there? The only times he ever wanted to see me were in his bed and afterward, he pushed me out like nothing.
I forced a smile, nodded. “Give me a few minutes,” I whispered. He bowed and left. Instantly, I rose, adjusted my dress, and slowly opened the door. The guard straightened, pointing toward the hallway.
“No. Please, lead the way.”
He bowed again, then walked ahead. I trailed behind him, my heart racing with every step. Was Alpha Sebastian granting me freedom? Or was he about to parade me before the council of elders as a trophy?
We reached the throne room. The guard knocked. The door opened. Someone inside motioned me in. My stomach tightened. I had carried pain in my heart so long, I thought nothing could hurt more. Yet as I stepped inside, I froze.
My father. My mother. Standing at the corner of the courtroom.
For a heartbeat, hope flared, maybe they could explain why they were here. But they didn’t spare me a glance. They turned their eyes away.
“Perfect timing.”Alpha Sebastian’s cold voice echoed. My gaze snapped to him. Then I saw her.
Helen. My sister. Kneeling on the floor, tears streaming down her face.
“Sister…” I muttered in worry, rushing toward her. But her next words caught me off guard.
“Don’t come any closer, you traitor!” she yelled.
I froze, confused. What was she talking about? Last time I checked, she said she was going to pick flowers from the garden and never returned. She disappeared before my wedding, and now suddenly, she shows up, calling me a traitor.
“Sis, what are you talking abou-”
Before I could finish, a hot slap landed on my cheek. My head snapped in the direction of the blow. My mother stood there, eyes blazing with hatred and rage.
“How could you do this to your sister? It’s not her fault you couldn’t get a mate after four rejections. But stealing your sister’s mate? You crossed the line, Helen!” my mother shrieked, pointing at me.
I couldn’t understand. It felt like I was hallucinating.
“Mama, what’s going on? You told me to take Helen’s place because she disappeared I…I…”
Another slap cut my words short. My lips trembled, but no sound came out. Everything felt like a cruel game. What was happening?
“How dare you lie?!” my mother shrieked, ripping my dress from my shoulder. She forced me to face Sebastian, exposing the skin where no mark showed.
My mind spiraled. Why was she calling me by a name that wasn’t mine?and my mark, my mother had always warned me never to expose it. Said it was the sign of a curse. So I had always kept it hidden.
“Yes, Alpha Sebastian,” my sister’s voice rang out, trembling with tears, “she pretended to be me. Valeria. I’m Valeria, and she’s Helen. This is my birthmark. I’m your true mate.”
She ripped her dress from her shoulder, exposing a moon-shaped mark. Gasps filled the room.
I shook my head in disbelief, desperate to speak. My eyes darted to my father. But he turned away.
“Papa, say something!” I screamed, my voice breaking as tears streamed down my face. This was all a setup. My father didn’t speak. He only lowered his gaze to the ground. And in that silence, I realized the truth,I was utterly alone, My family had betrayed me. They had traded me for their lust for power, for the throne.Alpha Sebastian’s voice thundered across the room.
“Is this true, Beta Edward?” His gaze never left mine, a cruel smirk tugging at his lips. He had always hated me and hated me so much he never once bothered to ask my name. I knew he could kill me without a blink.
“Yes, my lord. My wife speaks nothing but the truth. I never thought my daughter Helen would do this to us.”My father’s words shattered the last flicker of hope inside me. I tried to speak, to defend myself, but before I could, Alpha Sebastian rose.
The court followed, standing in his shadow as he descended from his throne with calculated grace. He extended a hand not to me, but to my sister lifting her gently to her feet. Then his eyes met mine. Something cold, something indescribable burned within them.
“You will be executed by nightfall.”
His voice rolled through the courtroom like thunder. My body trembled, my tears unending. My fate was sealed, Rejected four times, Mateless, Betrayed by my own blood,To die at the hands of a merciless tyrant.
Just when despair consumed me, my sister’s voice sliced the air.
“My lord, perhaps you should reconsider. I’ll be needing many slaves to serve me. Add her to them. Let her work under me.”
My knees gave way, and I collapsed, sobbing as the weight of her cruelty pressed into me. Through the blur of tears, I saw her face, radiant with triumph. My parents tried, and failed, to contain their joy.
I wiped my eyes slowly. I stared at them all my smiling sister, my silent father, my treacherous mother. And in that moment, I swore one thing. This was not the end.My revenge would come.
FOUR YEARS LATER Valerie POVThe pack mansion was filled with decorations. It was finally the day of my coronation. The day I would be crowned Luna of the Crestwood wolf pack. I ran through the hallways, trying to catch up with a certain little troublemaker.“Aurora, slow down!” I called, but she only laughed, her tiny feet echoing against the marble floor as she ran faster.“Catch me if you can!” she shouted, her laughter ringing through the air as she dashed toward the courtroom.I groaned softly, trying to keep up with her pace while the maids rushed behind me, and Sarah followed closely, clearly out of breath from trying to keep up with both of us.Just then, Aurora ran straight into someone. She stumbled slightly but quickly lifted her head and the moment she saw who it was, her face lit up instantly.“Papa!” she squealed happily, bursting into laughter. “Look! Mama couldn’t catch me!”I stopped in my tracks, breathing heavily as my gaze shifted from Aurora to Sebastian. He laug
Alpha Sebastian POVI could hear Valeria screaming from inside. Each cry tore through me like a blade, deeper and deeper, until it felt like my chest could no longer hold my heart. The more she screamed, the more I lost control of myself. I wanted to be there. I wanted to hold her hand, to tell her she wasn’t alone, to remind her that I was right beside her through it all. But I wasn’t allowed in. and it was driving me mad.I paced back and forth outside the chamber doors, my steps uneven, my mind restless. Every second felt like a lifetime. Every sound from inside made my body tense. That was when Owen approached me.He bowed his head respectfully, then straightened his back. “My lord, you need to sit down. This will not be good for your Luna if you lose yourself like this,” he said calmly. But I didn’t respond, I couldn’t. My thoughts were in chaos. What if something went wrong? What if what if I lost her? The thought alone made it hard to breathe. I tried to calm myself, tried to h
Valerie POVMinutes turned to hours, and Owen wasn’t back yet. I requested that we go find out for ourselves, but Sebastian stopped me again, clearly stating that I was stressed and only adding more pressure on the baby. Just when I was about to lose my patience, Owen walked in and the expression on his face said it all as he bowed his head. “Tell me she’s not dead,” I asked. Owen raised his head, looked at me, then shook it. “My lady, I am sorry… we lost her.”I froze for a moment. I couldn’t move. A tear slipped down my cheek, and with trembling hands, I brushed it off. I looked at Sebastian, who pulled me into a hug. Why was I crying over someone who had treated me so badly? Why was I hurt that Helen was dead? Why was I angry at the fact that she was no more, when she was the one who made my life a living nightmare?I quickly dashed out of the courtroom and headed toward the dungeon. When I arrived at her cell, I froze at the sight of the guards wrapping up her body. I rushed forw
Valerie POVAlpha Sebastian had kept me confined in the room for days, insisting that I needed to rest. No matter how many times I refused, no matter how many times I argued that I was perfectly fine, he remained firm in his decision. At some point, I had no choice but to give in not because I wanted to, but because he simply wouldn’t allow anything else. Finally, when I felt strong enough, I decided to step out. With Sarah’s help, I carefully made my way down to the dining room, each step slow but steady. My body was still recovering, but I refused to remain locked away any longer. When we entered, Alpha Sebastian was already there, seated at the table, waiting. The moment he saw me, his expression softened. “There you are… I thought you weren’t going to come down anytime soon,” he said, stretching out his hand toward me.I smiled faintly and walked over to him. Instead of taking the seat immediately, I pulled him slightly closer and placed a gentle kiss on his lips before sitting be
Helen’s POVI spent every day and every night drowning in silent, endless tears of regret. If only I could turn back the hands of time If only I could undo everything I had done wrong. Maybe then I wouldn’t be trapped in this misery. Maybe then I wouldn’t be here, in the cold, suffocating walls of the dungeon where the air itself felt heavy with cruelty. Each night, I lay on the damp ground listening to the distant sound of chains and footsteps echoing through the stone corridors. The dungeon was cold enough to seep into my bones, and the flickering torchlight on the walls only made the shadows look alive like they were watching me, judging me, reminding me of everything I had lost.I had been here for days. I wasn’t even sure how many anymore. No food. No water. Nothing. Valeria had ordered it herself. My punishment was deliberate, and cruel. And still, every time the iron gate screeched open, I flinched. That day, the guards walked in again. They always came with laughter mocking,
Alpha Sebastian POVThe war was finally over. I had returned victorious, but that wasn’t what filled my heart the most; it was her Valeria and the life growing inside her. After everything we had lost, after the pain of losing our first child, there were moments I truly believed the Moon Goddess had turned her back on us. I remembered the emptiness, the silence, the regret that haunted me. If I had made different choices if I had protected her better maybe things would have been different. But now, as I sat beside her, all of that felt distant. She was here. Alive. And carrying our child an heir not just for me, but for both our bloodlines. My hand rested gently on her stomach, slowly tracing soft circles as she lay comfortably on the bed, completely focused on the apple in her hand. Bite after bite, as though nothing else in the world mattered. “Easy, my dear, you’re going to choke,” I said lightly, watching her. She shot me an annoyed glance but didn’t stop. I couldn’t help the s

Valeria’s POVI knew it was finally time for me to begin destroying Helen’s pride once and for all. That was why I had made a simple request to Sebastian asking him to move Helen out of her chamber so I could take it over. I needed a larger space to practice my paintings, since that was the only ac
