Penelope’s POV

I stood at the edge of the tent, watching both men receive treatment for the damage their male pride had wrought. Dominic sat on a bench getting his knuckles wrapped while Julian lay on a cot with bandages covering half his face.

The tent was still packed. Hundreds of pack members lingering, discussing the fight, placing bets on what would happen next.

Like this was entertainment instead of two grown men nearly killing each other over me.

Enough.

I climbed onto the central platform. Conversations died as people noticed me standing there, attention shifting from the fighters to the woman they’d been fighting over.

“Look at this,” I called out. “Look at what happened here today.”

Every eye was on me now. The medical staff paused their work. Both men turned to see what I was doing.

“Two grown leaders destroying each other because they think I’m a prize to be won through violence.” I gestured toward the medical area. “Blood spilled, bones broken, all because neither of them

Penelope’s POVI woke to the sound of a delivery truck in my driveway. Through my bedroom window, I could see a woman in a floral shop uniform arranging something on my front porch. When I opened the door ten minutes later, I found three dozen white roses in a massive crystal vase. Perfect blooms, pristine petals, the kind of arrangement that cost more than most people’s salary.A handwritten note was tucked between the stems: “For the woman who deserves better than two idiots fighting over her. I’m sorry. —D”Despite myself, my lips curved into a smile before I caught myself and frowned instead. Grand gestures were exactly what I’d warned against yesterday. But they were beautiful roses.I carried them inside and set them on the kitchen table, where their fragrance immediately filled the room. Mom and Dad were already at breakfast with Debbie, who squealed with delight when she saw the flowers.“They’re so pretty!” she exclaimed, reaching to touch a petal. “Who sent them?”“Someone wh

  • Alpha's Regret: Return of the Rejected Mate   Chapter 326: Respect Through Defeat

Julian’s POVConsciousness returned slowly, bringing waves of pain from every part of my body. I was lying on a cot in the medical tent, white canvas overhead blurring in and out of focus.“Don’t try to sit up yet,” Nora’s voice said softly. “You’ve got a concussion among other things.”I turned my head carefully and found her sitting beside the cot, a medical kit open on a small table. Her hands moved gently as she cleaned a cut on my forehead.“How bad?” I asked, my voice coming out as a croak.“Bad enough. Broken ribs, definitely a concussion, more cuts and bruises than I can count.” She dabbed antiseptic on another wound, making me wince. “But you’ll live.”“The fight?”“Dominic won, but you already knew that.” She set down the cotton swab and looked at me directly. “Julian, what you did out there…people are talking.”“About what?”“About how you refused to quit. How you kept getting up no matter how hard he hit you.” Her voice was quiet, impressed. “Most men wouldn’t have lasted h

  • Alpha's Regret: Return of the Rejected Mate   Chapter 325: The Duel

Dominic’s POVThe arena filled before dawn. Word had spread through every territory—two respected leaders settling their rivalry the old way, blood and bone.I stood in the preparation area, stripping off my shirt as pack members took their seats in the wooden bleachers. My chest showed scars from years of fights and challenges that came with being an Alpha. Each mark told a story. The long slash across my ribs from the border war eight years back. The puncture wound near my shoulder from the young hothead who thought he could take my place. The burn mark on my forearm from a silver blade wielded by someone who’d underestimated how fast I could move.“Nervous?” My Beta asked, helping me wrap my hands.“No.” I rolled my shoulders, feeling muscles bunch and release. “This needed to happen.”Across the arena, Julian was going through his own preparations. Without his shirt, he looked different than I’d expected. Lean muscle, yes, but more substantial than his clothes suggested. Scars of h

Penelope’s POVI didn’t wait for Elder Francis to finish his announcement. The moment he said “formal duel,” I was on my feet and heading for the exit.Idiots. Both of them.My boots hit the pavement outside the Council building. Behind me, voices rose in excitement as pack members discussed the upcoming duel.I climbed into my car and slammed the door hard enough to rattle the windows. The engine roared to life, and I peeled out of the parking lot before anyone could follow me.The training facility was empty when I arrived. Good. I needed space to think, to move, to hit something before I exploded.I changed into workout clothes in record time, then headed for the main training room. The heavy bag hung in the center like it was waiting for me.My first punch landed with a satisfying thud. Then another. And another.“They’re acting like teenagers fighting over a toy instead of grown men making rational decisions,” I muttered, delivering a vicious uppercut to the bag.“Rough day?”I sp

  • Alpha's Regret: Return of the Rejected Mate   Chapter 323: The Ancient Way

Julian’s POVThe parking area behind the Council building was empty except for our two vehicles. Dominic had followed me outside, fury visible in every line of his body.“You don’t get to lecture me about leadership in front of other Alphas,” he snarled, advancing like a predator closing in for the kill.I held my ground despite knowing he could seriously injure me if this turned physical. “Someone has to when your decisions get people hurt.”“Someone has to?” His voice rose dangerously. “Who made you the authority? Who gave you the right to humiliate an Alpha publicly?”“Three of your people are in the hospital,” I replied calmly, though my enhanced senses were picking up the dangerous pheromones rolling off him. Rage, territorial aggression, the chemical signals of a dominant wolf pushed past his breaking point. “That gives me the right to point out what went wrong.”“What went wrong is you. Interfering in my life, my family, my territory.” He stepped closer, hands clenched into fist
