Dominic’s POV

The drive to Iron Mountain had become routine after two weeks. I knew every curve, every pothole, every landmark that told me I was five minutes from seeing Penelope’s face, but today, Nathan waited on the front porch instead of her.

The former Alpha sat in his rocking chair like a judge about to deliver a death sentence. His worn hands gripped the armrests. Everything about his posture screamed trouble.

I killed the engine and climbed out slowly, buying time. Nathan had been polite but distant during my visits—civil for Debbie’s sake but clearly disapproving. If he was confronting me now, I’d crossed a line somewhere.

“Morning, Nathan.”

“Dominic.” He didn’t stand or offer pleasantries. “Sit down. We need to talk.”

I settled on the porch steps, keeping distance between us. “What’s on your mind?”

“You are.” His eyes bore into mine. “Specifically, what the hell you think you’re doing to my daughter.”

My stomach dropped. “I’m trying to rebuild our relationship.”

“Bullshit.”

  • Alpha's Regret: Return of the Rejected Mate   Chapter 355: Multiple Bleeding Wounds

Penelope’s POVThe alarms dragged me from sleep at four-thirty in the morning. Before I was fully awake, my phone exploded with incoming calls—multiple lines ringing at once, creating noise that made my blood freeze.“Four packs under attack,” Dad’s voice crackled through the speaker, tight with barely controlled panic. “At the same time.”I was dressed and running toward the command center within three minutes, my mind racing as reports flooded in. Northern Hills pack reporting heavy casualties. Western Valley completely overwhelmed. Southern Ridge begging for backup they knew we didn’t have. The command center was chaos when I arrived. Phones ringing constantly, the chatter creating a wall of desperate voices, my staff scrambling to process information coming in faster than we could handle it.Three separate displays showed territory maps dotted with red markers showing breaches, and more appeared every few seconds.“How many fighters do we have available?” I shouted over the noise.

  • Alpha's Regret: Return of the Rejected Mate   Chapter 354: Storm Gathering

Julian’s POVThe reports flooding in from my network painted a picture that made my blood run cold. Every contact, every carefully cultivated source, every dangerous connection I’d built over months of double agent work—they were all saying the same thing.Something massive was coming.“Troop movements like nothing we’ve seen,” one of the Rogue Compound guards, Marcus, whispered during our midnight meeting in the abandoned warehouse. “Vehicles, weapons, supplies—enough for an army, not just raiding parties.”“How many fighters?”“Hundreds. Maybe thousands.” His face showed genuine fear. “They’re bringing in Rogues from places we didn’t even know existed.”I processed this information while trying to appear calm. If the Rogue King was massing forces on this scale, it wasn’t just another series of attacks. This was full-scale war.“What about timing? Any word on when it happens?”Marcus shook his head. “That’s the problem. Complete information blackout. Even trusted lieutenants don’t kno

  • Alpha's Regret: Return of the Rejected Mate   Chapter 353: What Lives in the Marrow

Penelope’s POVThe Council meeting started at ten, and by ten-fifteen I had to excuse myself to splash cold water on my face. Dominic’s voice came through the chamber walls, and the sound made my pulse race like I was some teenager with her first crush. This was getting ridiculous.“You okay?” Nora asked when I returned to my seat.“Fine,” I lied, gripping my pen so tightly it might snap. But I wasn’t fine. Every time Dominic spoke, heat flooded my system. When he glanced in my direction, my thighs clenched involuntarily. When he stood to point at something on the map, the way his shirt pulled across his shoulders made me bite my lip to keep from making embarrassing sounds.Twenty minutes later, I excused myself again.“Bathroom emergency,” I mumbled, practically fleeing the chamber. In the hallway, I leaned against the wall and tried to breathe normally. This couldn’t continue. I was a respected leader, not some hormonal mess who couldn’t sit through a basic meeting without getting ov

  • Alpha's Regret: Return of the Rejected Mate   Chapter 352: Hunting in Pairs

Penelope’s POVDominic walked into my office the next morning. Dad nearly dropped his coffee mug when he settled into the chair across from my desk without invitation.“I was thinking we should coordinate our border security,” Dominic said. “Maybe work together on patrols.”Dad set down his cup with a sharp clink. “Absolutely not.”“Actually,” I said, my body still alive from yesterday’s forest encounter, “that makes sense.”Dad’s eyebrows shot up. “Penelope, you can’t be serious. This man—”“This man has resources we can use,” I interrupted. The memory of Dominic’s hands on my skin made heat pool low in my belly. “I’m accepting the proposal.”The silence that followed was deafening. Dad stared at me like I’d lost my mind, while Dominic’s slight smile told me he remembered exactly what had happened between us yesterday.“We start this afternoon,” I continued. “Western boundary first.”Two hours later, we were walking the fence line with four of my fighters trailing behind us. I caught

Penelope’s POVThe sirens woke me at four in the morning, their screaming cutting through my dreams. Before my feet hit the floor, my phone started ringing—multiple calls flooding in at once.“Eastern border,” Dad’s voice cracked through the speaker. “Three of them got through the fence. Big ones.”I threw on clothes and grabbed my gun, racing toward the border in my truck. The radio chatter painted a nightmare—three mutated wolves, bigger than anything we’d seen before, tearing through our people like they were made of paper. My fighters were scattered when I arrived. Some wounded, others trying to hide behind whatever they could find. The biggest mutant had cornered two of my people against a shipping container, its twisted spine and elongated limbs making it look like something from hell. That’s when Dominic showed up.His truck skidded to a stop and he leaped out, already shifting into his wolf form while he was still in the air. He crashed into the nearest mutant with bone-crushin

  • Alpha's Regret: Return of the Rejected Mate   Chapter 350: Watching Through Glass

Nick’s POVI stood at the kitchen window, watching Dominic carry Alexander around the backyard. My son—my biological son—squealed with delight as his supposed father pointed out birds in the trees.“Ba-ba-ba!” Alexander chanted, reaching toward a squirrel that scampered up the oak tree.Dominic laughed, bouncing him gently. “That’s right, buddy. Squirrel. Can you say squirrel?”“Ga-ga-ga!”“Close enough.”My hands clenched into fists. Three days of this. Three days of watching another man play father to my child while I was relegated to observer status.“Sir?” One of the junior pack members appeared in the doorway. “About the adjustments you recommended yesterday—”“What about them?” I didn’t turn from the window.“Alpha Dominic wants to review them with the border captain before implementing. He said he needs to verify the reasoning behind the changes.”“Verify the reasoning?”“His words, sir. He’s scheduled a meeting for this afternoon to go over your suggestions.”Suggestions. Not o
