Amelia had grown accustomed to the rhythm of the forest, the rustle of leaves, and the calls of distant creatures. For months, she had lived in solitude, hiding from the world, seeking solace in the embrace of nature. But today, something changed.

As she crouched beside a small stream, cupping her hands to drink, her ears caught the sound of footsteps. Her heart quickened, and she froze, every muscle tensed with apprehension. Were they from her pack? Had they found her?

She listened intently, the murmurs growing louder as the voices drew nearer. They spoke of an Alpha, one filled with rage, heartless and cruel. Fear gripped her, and she struggled to control her breathing, hoping against hope that they weren't here for her.

Damien, Alpha of the Dark Moon Pack, prowled through the woods with his packmates, his senses attuned to every scent, every sound. The whispers of his companions filled his ears, painting a picture of a tyrant ruling over his pack with an iron fist. It was a description that resonated with his own experiences, memories of a past he wished he could forget. He knew what it turned him to, a heartless werewolf with no mercy.

And then he caught it, a scent so intoxicating, so tantalizingly familiar that he couldn't resist. With a predatory grace, he traced it to its source, his steps silent as he closed in on his prey.

Amelia's heart hammered in her chest as she sensed his approach, the hairs on the back of her neck standing on end. She spun around, but it was too late. Strong arms encircled her, pulling her close, and she found herself staring into eyes as dark and stormy as the night sky.

"Who are you?" Damien's voice was low, commanding, and she trembled beneath its weight. "And what are you doing here?"

She tried to speak, to explain, but fear choked the words in her throat. She had heard the stories of the Dark Moon Alpha, tales of his brutality and ruthlessness. And now, here he stood before her, his gaze piercing her soul. “What are they here for by this time?

"She's one of them," one of Damien's packmates growled, his voice tinged with suspicion. "I should take you to the Pack house. There your fate will be decided."

“What are you going to do to me? Just let me go and I'll never show my face again, please.” Amelia begged.

“Quiet! Damien barked at her, you should be quiet and be thankful I didn't kill you instantly at that time I saw you. One more word from you and I'll end you.”

Amelia trembled at that and wondered what would become of her.

“Even my father doesn't bark at me at home.” Her brow raised high as she thought.

As they walked, the forest seemed to close in around them, the trees whispering secrets that Amelia couldn't decipher. Damien's presence loomed large beside her, his every movement exuding power and authority. She stole glances at him when she thought he wasn't looking, trying to glean any clue as to what fate awaited her.

Damien's mind churned with conflicting emotions as he led the mysterious girl through the woods. He couldn't shake the feeling that her scent drew him near.

Her scent, a tantalizing blend of wildflowers and rain, stirred memories he had long tried to suppress.

“I don't want a second chance mate.” He thought to himself.

As they reached the edge of the clearing, Damien's packmates fell into step behind them, their eyes watchful and wary. The rest of the pack had gathered, their murmurs falling silent as they caught sight of their Alpha returning with a stranger in tow.

Whispers rippled through the crowd as they took in the sight of the girl, her hair tangled and wild, her clothes torn and dirt-streaked.

“She looks forsaken.” A pack member commented. There were only murmurs because the Alpha entrance is their fear.

"Who is she, Damien?" The question came from Marcus, Damien's second-in-command, his voice edged with concern. "And what does she want?"

“You don't ask me questions” his eyes turned making Marcus move back as it would occur in a fight.

Damien hesitated, his gaze flickering to the girl at his side. She stood tall, her chin lifted defiantly, despite the fear that lingered in her eyes.

Damien ordered Amelia to be taken to a room.

"I found her in the woods," he said finally, his voice steady. "She claims to have no pack, no home. The rest of my decision is not yours to know.

As the evening descended, casting long shadows across the clearing, the atmosphere in the Dark Moon Pack's territory grew tense. The arrival of Amelia had sparked a flurry of speculation and gossip among the pack members, each one offering their own theories about who she was and why she had appeared out of nowhere.

Some whispered that she was a spy, sent by a rival pack to gather information or sow discord. Others speculated that she was a lone wolf, cast out from her own pack for some unspeakable crime. But no matter the rumors, one thing was clear: Damien's decision to bring her into their midst had set the pack on edge.

Amelia, meanwhile, on the life fate had bestowed on her.

Seeking solace, she asked to go to the outskirts of the clearing, where the trees offered a measure of privacy from prying eyes. The room is nothing different from why she had to run from her pack. She felt suffocated in the room she was locked in with tight security.

“What does he even want with me?” She thought.

“Get me out of here.” She screamed, her voice echoed through the passages.

A watchman heard her and went in, telling her it's better to keep quiet so as to not annoy the Alpha.

“I want to leave,”she yelled.

Murmurs were heard from the entrance and the door drifted open

“Did I not tell you not to say a word.?” He groaned as he could sense her scent yet

Amelia's PovI watched Damien closely, my heart racing as I saw the glow in his eyes slowly calm again. His breathing became more regular, and the tension in the room lifted slightly. The way his gaze softened almost made me forget the chaos that had just unfolded. But we both know that couldn't happen. He stood up as if nothing had happened, like he hadn't just nearly lost control, like I hadn't nearly lost him. My heart was beating fast in my chest, and I felt my anger bubbling up. "Damien!" I couldn’t hold it in anymore. "Why are you acting like nothing happened?” I asked, my anger was clear. “I'm sure Ethan has packed the necessary things. And has Cassie gotten you ready? You should know we are leaving.” He said, moving round the room, his eyes moved all through the parts of the room and I watched him panic. “What are you doing? Why are you just ignoring everything? You can’t just knock out like that and expect me to forget it! What the hell is going on with you?" I was so

Amelia's Pov My hands were shaking as I helped Damien onto the bed. He was completely down and asleep, or so I thought. Blood soaked his clothes, the deep stains spreading across his chest, and I could only imagine how bad his wounds must be. His skin was pale, too pale. His breathing was shallow, and I had to remind myself that he was still alive, still here. I couldn’t lose him.Cassie stood in the corner of the room, her eyes wide, her body rigid. She looked almost... terrified, as if something far worse was on the horizon. But I didn’t have time to focus on her right now. I quickly unbuttoned his shirt, pulling it away from his body, trying to keep my hands steady as I cleaned him off. His body was still warm, but the blood that covered him made it feel like he was slipping away. I wiped away the stains as best I could, taking great care not to cause him any pain. He was unconscious, but I didn’t want to take any chances. The blood was drying fast, and I worked frantically,

Amelia's Pov I could feel Damien’s intense gaze on me, his dark eyes piercing through me as if he were trying to figure out what I was saying. He didn’t speak, but I could see the storm brewing inside of him. I had just told him that I didn’t want to become Luna, something I thought I meant at the time, but now, as I looked at him, I wasn’t so sure anymore. Before I could even process my own emotions, Ethan burst into the room, looking so sharp and frantic. “Sapphira’s gone,” he said, his words crashing into the silence.Damien’s face twisted in horror as he shot up from his seat, his body tense with panic. “What do you mean, gone?” he yelled, his voice filled with panic. “Why wasn’t she stopped?!” His words were laced with anger, his fists clenched as he stormed towards the door, shoving past the guards. His movements were wild, desperate, like a man unraveling before my eyes.I watched him in stunned silence as he slapped the guards’ faces, his actions harsh and without mercy. His

Sapphira’s PovI should have known it wouldn't be easy with Damien. I should have just killed her rather than take things easy with her. My heart hurt and I felt my gut screaming failure. The scenes came back in a flash and I yelled. “I'm not giving up on you, Amelia. We've started this, and we'll both end it.” I whispered in such despair. What could have been better than taking what I deserved? Kept and separated from the life I should own, only to come back and find it gifted to someone else. I couldn't stand living my life up to someone else's. Especially not Amelia, she had everything, I didn't even get a mate, and no one knew I was part of the silver moon pack. Staring at the walls that I was locked up in, I should have known Damien wouldn’t take things lightly. I should have planned better. I should have had a backup escape route. But no, I was too caught up in my own arrogance, thinking I could handle him, thinking I could break Amelia before he even had the chance to strik

Amelia’s PovPain was the only thing I could feel, it hadn't been a while since my life had felt that. Damien never let that happen, with his fierce eye gaze and harsh words but love deep in his heart for me. I saw it, I saw his eyes, the care and the concern. I saw it all there, how did I miss that? If he truly loved me, I should have seen that properly. I did see it, but I didn't want to hurt myself. Everything just got too far as I've seen what I needed, to be strong. I groaned, my body trembling as I tried to lift my arms. My wrists burned from the silver chains, the cuts were deep and raw. My fingers fumbled with the dagger Damien had thrown to me, and my hands were slick with blood. Every movement sent a jolt of agony through my body, but I gritted my teeth, refusing to give up. If anything I needed to survive this and take back what I own."Come on," I muttered under my breath, trying to steady my shaking hands. With a sharp inhale, I tightened my grip and sawed at the r

  • Alpha's Second Chance Mate   Chapter 25

Damien’s PovMy heart pounded as I stepped forward, my senses heightened, every instinct screaming that I was walking into a trap. And I was right. The moment my foot crossed the boundary, a surge of power shot up around me. A barrier. Before I could react, figures emerged from the darkness, their eyes glowed with malice. The forces of the Silver Frost Pack surrounded me in an instant, their weapons drawn, their snarls echoing in the cold night air. Amelia laid on the floor, her body limp, her face battered and bruised. Blood smeared her pale skin, and her wrists were bound tightly with silver chains, her breath coming in shallow gasps. She lifted her head weakly, her eyes finding mine, filled with desperation. "Damien…" she whispered. "Please… save me." A sharp pain tore through my chest at the sight of her so helpless. My hands clenched into fists. If only I had trained her longer. If only I had prepared her for the dangers that lurked outside the pack. She was strong, b
