Marcel's POV

I opened my eyes to see that I was still locked up in here. I didn't expect to be out by now, but I could not help the feeling of unease that had settled in my stomach.

I didn't feel bad at all yesterday. Even though I was locked up, I spent the day texting Solana, and she would always respond when she had the time. She told me everything she was doing and I could not be more proud of her.

But she stopped responding to me last night. I would not have thought so much about it if not for the warriors that suddenly came to guard my cell. What more? My phone and the documents was taken from me.

I sat up, rubbing my hands against my thighs, unease twisted deeply in my gut. Something had changed, I could feel it. The air was heavier, the silence thicker, and the looks that the guards kept giving me... They were sharp, assessing.

Whatever it was, I knew it had to do with my mate.

"Where is Solana?" I finally asked, not able to hold back anymore.
