Chapter:-28

For the second time in one day Adom has trouble opening his eyes. His head hurts and he can hear pots and pans in the distance, the TV a quiet crackle as a sports announcer chatters on. Adom lifts up onto his elbows only to be greeted by his childhood home. He's sprawled out on the large living room sofa bed, his dad sitting beside him and watching a soccer match. He can hear his mom humming something in the kitchen, dishes clattering. Adom smiles and settles back down, feeling content. He pulls his sleeves over his fists and brings Alexander's sweater up to his nose. He imagines what it would be like to bring Alexander home and introduce him to Adom's family. Adom's sure Alexander would impress the heck out of all of them, being kind to Rose, talking all soft to his mom and even bringing up a business discussion with his dad.
