Chapter 27

I sunk down into the seat trying to disappear. A few seconds of admiring my bear and we had destroyed the car. I lost my temper in the kitchen and had torn it apart. Now with everyone arguing I just wanted to run away. I’ve caused nothing but problems since I arrived, at what point will they stop tolerating me.

Sarah’s laugh, big and booming. Made me peak my head up over what remained of the seat. She swatted at Alpha Colton’s head playfully. “Nearly took that oversized head of yours clean off.” She laughed deep from her belly.

“You’re one to talk!” Alpha Colton curled himself up and rolled on the ground like a ball. “You bailed out of the car before it could stop moving. Thought you were just going to keep rolling, all the way to town. You could have beat us there.”

As I sat and listened, they weren’t yelling at all. In fact they were giving each other a rash of shit over who jumped out of the car first when I started to turn.
