Chapter 9

Leading the way Beta Lucas took a right at the end of the hall before stopping at two big wooden doors. Like the foundation two wolves holding up what I could now tell was supposed to be the moon were hand carved into the door. One wolf on either side with the moon split in half where the doors would open.

Beta Lucas took one handle while the other man took the second. Pushing the doors open the light was blinding at first. Two long glass windows on one side of the room showered it with daylight. My eyes strained to adjust from the dark hall.

The man inside resting his backside against the desk with his legs stretched forward and crossed at the ankles looked as though he had been waiting for us.

His pitch black hair and dark tan skin made his blue eyes shine. The five o’clock shadow on his face did nothing to hide his chiseled square jaw line and high cheekbones. As he shifted slightly his shirt strained against his muscles.
