Todd looked at the clock ticking every second and his brow furrowed, the time is 9:00am and Amber wasn’t at the office yet, she should have at least called in sick or something, he thought. When they got to the hospital, Amber’s knee had already been wrapped up with a band aid and she was thanking the nurse who attended to her, Todd heaved a sigh of relief when he saw her in one piece, he placed a hand on his chest and took three deep breath before moving into the room completely, Carl stopped at the door and nodded at Amber, she nodded, acknowledging his greeting, she looked at the nurse as she walked out of her room then turned her face to the side, biting her lip she closed her eyes squeezing it tight as if willing Todd to disappear but when she opened her eyes and turned to check he was sitting on the chair by her bedside, the gentle look in his eyes was her undoing, she couldn’t look away from him, she bite her lower lip nervously and Todd held her hand tenderly.“I was so scared, I thought I’d lose you too" he said gentlyAmber was moved by his words, she tried to respond to him but there was a lump in her throat and her words sounded hoarse, she cleared her throat
