MILA POV:Darkness surrounded me.I didn’t know where I was, only that I was in darkness, a short black robe wrapped tightly around my body.“Cara Mia, Cara Mia.” His voice echoed in the darkness. “Finally, I’m going to have you all to myself. Mi manchi, Cara Mia.” His voice was deep and low with a strong, sexy thick Italian accent.I could feel eyes watching me from in the darkness all around me. I knew he was watching me; I could feel his gaze piercing my skin. I wanted to see him. I needed to see him, just to make sure that it was him. I had to be sure.“Say my name Cara Mia, Per Favore.” His voice begged out of the darkness, it sounded like him. The way my body shivered at his every word was also a sign that it was him. But I had to be sure.“Where are you?” I called out to him—my voice trembled in the darkness.“Di ll mio nome(say my name)” He begged again.“No!” I yelled, “Not until I see that it’s really you.”His chuckle echoed as he stepped out of the darkness. My breath caug
1283"Love, which quickly arrests the gentle heart, Seized him with my beautiful form That was taken from me, in a manner which still grieves me. Love, which pardons no beloved from loving, took me so strongly with delight in him That, as you see, it still abandons me not..." -Dante Alighieri.Sleep, for some reason, was avoiding me tonight. I kept tossing and turning, my mind wandering everywhere except for sleep. Sighing, I tossed and laid on my back, my eyes closed in one last attempt to finally find peace in sleep. But once again, I failed. Groaning, I opened my eyes and ran my hands over my face in frustration."Still can't sleep?" a heavenly voice asked, causing me to jump. Looking around in the darkness, with only the moon as a light, I caught the shadow of a person sitting on my desk.Placing my hand over my heart, I let out a small chuckle. "You shouldn't scare people like that, Mila," I started, getting out of my bed and walking over to her. I stopped when I got right in fro
ELIAS POV:I was worried; my Vixen was sick, terribly sick. I knew it; everyone knew it, but she wouldn’t admit it. After Lani, she got worse; she always looked so weak and pale that she passed out a few times. I didn’t know how to help her; she was a demon, not a werewolf, so I didn’t know how to help her if she didn’t tell me.I was in my office, trying to do pact business. But my thoughts kept going to Mila and her health. What the hell was wrong with her, and how could I help? It made me feel worthless. What kind of alpha, a king, can’t even care for his mate? What kind of a mate does that make me? I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration, then the phone rang.I looked at it, but I hesitated to answer it for some reason. I felt a dark, cold shiver run over me the longer the phone rang. Finally, I picked up the phone from the receiver and answered it.“Hello?” I answered.“Are you happy with yourself?” the deep voice on the other end responded. His voice was cold and dark an
MILA POV: As I took a shower, I could feel Eli’s eyes on me. I just sighed. I knew he was worried for me; I could hear it in his voice and see it on his face. But things were going to change. He was back; I didn’t know how but he was. “If you’re not going to shower with me, please don’t just stand there staring at me,” I told Eli, and I heard him sigh. “Call me if you need me, ok?” he said, worry lacing his voice. “I will,” I responded. “I love you,” He told me again before walking out. I just hummed a response. I loved him; I truly did. But I couldn’t express it right now, and honestly, it was for the best. I couldn’t risk expressing any type of affection towards him. I didn’t want him to end up like Adam, so I will keep my distance, for now. I listened to him sigh sadly, then I heard him close the door behind him as he left. The hot water that ran through my hair and down my body felt blissful. Even though I was alone in the shower, I knew he was there, watching and waiting.
DARIA POV:After my mother went upstairs I quickly finished my pancakes and then left for grandpa Luies. I liked traveling between the Empires seeing the different how they dressed and how they interacted with each other.Gabriel drove us and I sat and just waited. Honestly I worried if I should bring Gabriel with me or not. His relationship with my grandpa, even though they settled their differences you could still feel some tension in the air whenever they were in the same room together.I just looked at him as he stared ahead, his eyes on the road. “Why are you staring at me?” He asked never taking his eyes off the road.I just sighed. “Are you sure you're going to feel comfortable at grandpa Luie?” I asked him and he just chuckled.“Awww your worried for me?” he said in a baby voice as he reached over to me and pinched my side.“Well duh,” I laughed “If my guardian angel dies who will protect me from my psycho brothers.” I whimpered in fake fear.“I’m sure you’ll find someone.”“A
THIRD PERSON POV:Just then, a faint, sad howl rang out through the air, and they all looked up. They all knew that strong, powerful howl. It was Axl, the alpha king himself, crying.Daria looked up into the sky, she could feel the sadness running through the bond. However, she wasn’t worried or scared, instead, she felt oddly calm.“Something's wrong; we need to go back home,” Gabriel said as he started to panic and get up from his seat.“Can you let me talk to my granddaughter,” Lucifer said looking directly at Gabriel “Without you?”Gabriel looked at Daria, and she gave him a small smile. “Can you wait in the living room?”Gabriel stared at her intensely for a moment before giving her a sharp nod. Then he looked over Lucifer and Ciel. Turned and walked away.Another howl faintly echoed throughout the air.Lucifer just looked up into the air, a small smile on his face. “And so it begins.”“You know what going on don’t you?” Daria asked him. Her eyes narrowed at him, and his smile wi
1283DANTE POV:It’s been a week, and I was still in pain, but at least I wasn’t throwing up anymore. I haven’t gotten a visit from Mila, and as the days went by, I found myself missing her more and more.My fiance Gemma walked into my room. She carried a tray as she slowly made her way over to me. I just watched her every movement, and I couldn’t help but compare her to Mila. While Gemma’s skin was beautifully fair, Mila’s was a beautiful olive color. Gemma’s hair came a little past her shoulders and was jet black; she always kept it tied up. But Mila’s hair reminded me of the moon; her beautiful silver hair always seemed to shine, never seemed dull. Mila’s body was full of curves, and I loved to run my hands over every inch of her body. However, Gemma’s body, however beautiful she was, her body wasn’t nearly as curvy as Mila’s.Mila was never shy about her body; everything she wore was always so very revealing, showing a lot of skin. But Gemma, like a good younger woman, always cove
THIRD PERSON POV:As soon as twins Damen and Deo heard that heart-throbbing howl, they hurried to their parent’s room, running into their father’s Beta Ryan along the way. They knew something was wrong. And the nervous look on the beta's face just proved them right.“What's going on, Ryan?” Damen asked, but the frown on Ryans' face deepen.“I'm not too sure, but I know it has something to do with your mother,” he told them right as they made it to the Alphas room door. They didn't wait and wasted no time in opening the door.As soon as they opened the door, and automatically their nose scrunched up in disgust. There was a faint odor in the air, it was a smokey odor. The common smell of a demon, but this, this smell was different. They didn’t know how, but it was different. What they all saw was Alx growling as he paced the room. His nose was high in the air as they tried to catch any whiff of his mate. But there wasn't any, all there was, was the scent of a demon, an unfamiliar demon.
